Global Awakening: I'm the Only One Ready

Chapter 271. Building Strength, the Sword Embryo Improves, Outer Space

Inside his room, Lu Yuan laid out all the divine materials he had collected, including the Sage Weapons he had taken from the Zhou Family’s five grand elders.

He gave them a cursory look and found their quality to be genuinely impressive. If the Great Luo Sword Embryo could absorb them all, it would surely result in an unprecedented upgrade.

Without hesitation, Lu Yuan drew out the sword embryo. Since its last upgrade, it had not absorbed any divine materials at all. As a result, its power could no longer keep pace with Lu Yuan’s strength.

Of course, this was only temporary. The Great Luo Sword Embryo’s greatest characteristic was its ability to keep evolving, much like an Awakened. With enough nourishment, it would only grow stronger.

Even counting his previous life, Lu Yuan had never heard of a weapon more extraordinary than this one. According to what Jiang Ningxian had told him, the sword embryo was perhaps from the Eternal Starfield. The Eternal Starfield housed the Eternals, and they were extremely formidable and domineering.

They also forbid any outsiders from owning anything that had come from them.

The Great Luo Sword Embryo was truly remarkable. It was not a raw material but a fully refined, finished product. If the Eternals ever laid eyes on it, they would likely come to reclaim it, just as Jiang Ningxian had warned him about.

However, that was not much of a concern for Lu Yuan. He wouldn’t go looking for trouble, but he was not afraid of it either. He put the thought aside, held the Great Luo Sword Embryo, and began fusing the divine materials with it. Then he sat cross-legged and resumed acclimating to the power of Sages.

The fusion required time. The rarer the materials, the longer it would take. But it was fine. He had already planned to make use of this time to consolidate his power. Afterward, he would coordinate with Elder Ji and the others to streamline the Celestial Court’s operations.

Just like that, days passed. In the meantime, the officials began moving against certain factions—those financial consortiums and capitalist groups that had defected to the beings from the Outer Cosmos and caused chaos in secret.

At the same time, they gathered resources from the great mountains and rivers across the nation before pouring all of those resources into the development of the Celestial Court.

Lu Yuan’s entry into the Sage Realm and his existing prestige allowed the Celestial Court to grow exponentially.

Under Elder Ji’s strict oversight, of course, every recruit was handpicked, and only the elite made the cut. Some were placed under the tutelage of the Three Immortal Islands’ sect leaders. As for the core members like Zhu Qingyu, Lu Yuan personally guided them whenever he had time.

Their talent was exceptional, and every one of them had a high level of comprehension. In addition, the ongoing Global Awakening was transforming Earth into a sacred land of evolution. Needless to say, the speed at which they evolved was truly extraordinary.

Zhu Qingyu, Ice Fairy, Chunyang, Gu Sang, and the rest were all making remarkable progress. And that was before factoring in the abundance of resources and Earth becoming a planet conducive to evolution.

Thanks to Earth’s unique conditions, anyone, including those beings from the Outer Cosmos, found themselves evolving at a much faster rate compared to when they were in the Outer Cosmos.

Earth’s unique conditions were the reason behind Lu Yuan’s confidence. Given enough time, he believed they could easily fend off the invaders.

In no time, a month passed. Zhu Qingyu was the first to reach the Venerable King Realm, the fifth stage of evolution. It was a stunning achievement. Lu Yuan was genuinely surprised when he received word.

After thinking it over, though, it made sense. She had the talent. She had put in the effort. This kind of progress was well within reason.

At the same time, the beast kings led by the Golden-Winged Great Peng and the Peacock King had discovered numerous worthwhile legacies scattered across the great mountains and rivers of Huaxia. They were relics from ancient times.

While they could not compare to what was inside Guang Chengzi’s Dao ground or Mount Shu, they were still pretty valuable.

They consisted of breathing techniques, visualization methods, and even weapons, just about everything one could ask for.

The Three Immortal Islands’ sect leaders categorized them all. Then they were all systematically organized and distributed to the Celestial Court and the Aurora Academy’s branches.

The students from the Aurora Academy served as the Celestial Court’s reserve pipeline. The officials had done an excellent job tying everything together. Elder Ji and the others had already decided that the Celestial Court would become the supreme authority, and they were prepared for the eventual transfer of authority.

Under these circumstances, the Celestial Court’s development reached new heights. Its general framework, built around the four great divisions, was finally complete. Of course, Lu Yuan stood as the Celestial Court’s true lord.

Lu Yuan had also inscribed the names of the Three Immortal Islands’ sect leaders into the Investiture Edict. With the blessing of Providence, all three successfully reached the Venerable King Realm.

One month. In just one month, the Celestial Court changed drastically.

As for the beings from the Outer Cosmos, they went completely silent. Even when they appeared, they kept an extremely low profile, not daring to enter any of the super cities.

They had seen the writing on the wall. With Lu Yuan present, they wouldn’t be able to cause any waves. It would be a different story once the Separation of Heaven and Earth were no more, but who knew when that would happen?

The beings from the Outer Cosmos could do nothing but eagerly wait for that day.

Just like that, time flew by, and another three months passed in the blink of an eye. With no disruptions to their operations, the Celestial Court’s four great divisions were finally almost complete. Each division had one thousand members, and virtually all of them were at the Golden Body Realm.

Back at the beginning of the Global Awakening, beings at that level would be comparable to beast kings, but now, there were four thousand of them in the Celestial Court.

It sounded like a large number, but in reality, it represented every elite Awakened across Huaxia, which were pooled together into a single force. Their numbers weren’t nearly enough to resist the beings from the Outer Cosmos, but they were certainly a formidable force.

The Celestial Court had finally taken shape. When Lu Yuan saw the results, a quiet sense of satisfaction settled in his heart. Of course, he intended to rebuild the Celestial Court in full, so this was only the beginning.

Today, Lu Yuan stood suspended among the clustered peaks of Mount Tai. Not a trace of aura leaked from him, and a sword just over ninety centimeters in length was in his hand. Its blade was pitch black from end to end, but it shimmered with a radiant light. Wisps of sword light emanated from it as well, accompanied by violent thrumming that made the air itself tremble.

After a while, Lu Yuan’s eyes snapped open. He raised the sword in his hand and slashed at a mountain approximately a thousand meters tall.

Hum!

A violent tremor ran across the sword, and wisps of sword light erupted from it, converging into a single, radiant arc of light. The next instant, the arc of light flew toward the mountain.

Boom!

The mountain was cleaved in half. The cut was so clean that the exposed cross-section seemed to gleam. Indeed, in just one effortless swing, Lu Yuan had sliced a literal mountain in twain.

And this is just the power of the Great Luo Sword Embryo. If I add my own strength using the Heaven-Earth Sword, what would happen? Lu Yuan smiled.

The Great Luo Sword Embryo’s upgrade was complete, and its power had been elevated to an entirely new level.

The sword light dripping from its edge alone could shave a hill flat. At full force, the resulting devastation would be beyond imagination. All the effort he had invested in it had finally paid off in spades.

Just as Lu Yuan was about to continue familiarizing himself with the improved Great Luo Sword Embryo, his communicator chimed. A message from Zhu Qingyu had arrived. It was short and to the point—”Something’s wrong in outer space!”
