Global Awakening: I'm the Only One Ready

Chapter 252. Blood Sacrifice, Counterattack, Destroying the Immortals’ Will

Lu Yuan sounded perfectly calm as he stood on the moon. He looked weak, drained of nearly everything, as the vast majority of his power was dedicated to continuing the sacrifice.

Yet even so, he showed no trace of worry in the face of the Immortals’ wrath. A smile had even crept across his face. It was like he knew that this moment would come.

Beside him, the bronze cauldron fueled by the steady infusion of his blood essence pulsed with a jade-green light. In response, the Yongzhou Cauldron answered its call and became even stronger.

Shrouded in that dazzling light, Lu Yuan stood in place, and he truly looked extraordinary despite the grim odds.

Just then, the avatars made of the Immortals’ will descended one after another while emanating radiant lights.

They couldn’t understand him. If anything, Lu Yuan’s declaration only reinforced their belief that he was absurdly arrogant.

The twelve Lesser Sages in the distance heard him too, and they stared blankly at one another.

”Has this Lu Yuan lost his mind? He’s facing off against Immortals!”

”He only managed to destroy the Immortals’ plan because he borrowed the power of Earth’s ancient sages, so how does he really think he’s some kind of big shot now?”

”He’s too reckless and too young as well. He’s not even a Sage yet. The power of Immortals is beyond anything he can possibly imagine.”

Everyone reached the same conclusion—Lu Yuan had lost his mind. He had only managed to hold the projections of those Immortals at bay because of the Separation of Heaven and Earth. Now, the wills of those Immortals had appeared with the intention of killing him and venting their fury onto him.

The smart move here was to use his World-Shifting Talisman and flee to Earth as fast as possible. This could give him a chance of surviving, but instead of running away, he decided to provoke them. In their eyes, he was a dead man walking.

”A mere insect actually dares to be so arrogant before us? How absurd,” said one of the Immortals. They were cloaked in light, making their facial features indiscernible along with their race or clan.

However, the killing intent in their voice was unmistakable. ”Very well. Since you insist, we shall deliver to you the harshest punishment possible.”

They had projected their will across the universe for one goal—kill the one who had ruined their plans. Now that they had found him, they saw no point in wasting more words, and the Immortals moved as one.

Boom!

An overwhelmingly powerful aura flooded the solar system. This was not a single Immortal; there were at least twenty of them. Even without attacking, their aura alone was already terrifying beyond measure.

The moon trembled. Had it not been for the Separation of Heaven and Earth, the moon’s surface would have cracked open by now, especially when their sole objective was to crush the insect before them.

However, Lu Yuan’s gaze did not waver. Deep inside him, a different power reserve stirred to life. At the same time, his blood essence flowed into the small bronze cauldron.

In response, the Yongzhou Cauldron shuddered violently. The power churning inside it could no longer be contained, and it erupted at once, rushing out of the cauldron in the form of radiant streams of light.

Moments later, the legendary cauldron, one of the Nine Tripod Cauldrons, rose slowly into the air, and the cauldron itself transformed into a streak of light that made a beeline for the Immortals.

No one had seen this coming.

”No!”

Panic rippled through the Immortals’ ranks. The cauldron carried with it a power that was far stronger than anything before. It exceeded what an avatar made of will could hope to stop.

This was the power of the so-called ”contingency plan.”

They retreated immediately, but it was too late. The Yongzhou Cauldron had already locked onto them, and the energy it radiated only intensified with each passing second.

This outcome was brought about by Lu Yuan’s relentless sacrifice. To be honest, he had been wary from start to finish. He had known that once their plan was destroyed, the Immortals would lash out in rage.

Just as he had predicted, they projected their will, but a will was different from a mere projection. It was an avatar that, once injured, could also injure their true bodies in the form of backlash.

This was precisely why he had said that he had been waiting for them. His goal wasn’t just the destruction of their plan. He was also going to make those Immortals pay a massive price.

This way, he could send a message to every corner of the universe. If anyone wanted to invade Earth, they had to be prepared to pay a price for their avarice.

Only by inflicting real pain could the message truly land, and this was Lu Yuan’s goal.

The Yongzhou Cauldron shot forward and closed the distance in the span of a breath. The Immortals tried to retreat and dodge, but they failed. Left with no other option, they braced themselves.

Unfortunately, the cauldron carried with it the fully activated power of the Separation of Heaven and Earth, and Lu Yuan had been gathering its power inside the cauldron just for the sake of performing a single, devastating strike.

Now, it was about time to unleash that accumulated power.

The Yongzhou Tripod Cauldron collided with the gathered Immortals and—

BOOM!

The solar system trembled violently as an indescribably radiant light erupted at the moment of contact.

Everything went silent. When the light faded away, the Immortals’ avatars were no more. They were completely destroyed, and all the crises were completely averted.

”Lu Yuan destroyed... the Immortals’ will?”

”H-he must have known that this would happen. That’s why he said that he had been waiting for them.”

”So his goal was never just protecting Earth. He wanted to deal a devastating blow to the starfields as well.”

The twelve Lesser Sages were in a daze. In terms of raw strength, Lu Yuan was incomparably weaker than any Immortal, but he had successfully made use of the contingency plan that those sages of antiquity had left behind.

In essence, it was borrowed power, but he had successfully used it to repel the will of those Immortals.

The sheer audacity of his actions left their flabbers thoroughly gasted.

In the distance, Uncle Jiang stared wide-eyed at Lu Yuan. He had seen everything unfold from start to finish, and what he had witnessed told him that Lu Yuan was a true powerhouse in every aspect.

His temperament, smarts, and ability to make the right decision at the critical moment were qualities that perhaps no other member of his generation across the universe could match.

At this point, the only thing he lacked was raw power.

”The Saintess’ decision to let bygones be bygones and work with him was quite possibly the wisest decision ever made,” Uncle Jiang remarked. He was certain that Lu Yuan’s name would shake the universe one day.

Of course, he had to stay alive until that day.

Just then, every being in outer space turned their gazes toward the moon.

The Yongzhou Cauldron had returned to Lu Yuan’s hands. Its lights had faded away; it looked dim and lifeless. The sacrificial ritual was over. It could be activated again, but Lu Yuan no longer had the strength to do that.

The sacrificial ritual had drained nearly everything he had. A huge chunk of his blood essence was sacrificed, and he would need a lot of time to recover. More importantly, the mere aura of those Immortals had injured him.

The gap between them was so vast that their aura alone had wounded him. It was the worst injury he had sustained since he set foot on the path of evolution; he had just been maintaining a facade.

Now that the entire ordeal was over, he could no longer hold on. He shuddered, and his face became ashen as a thin stream of blood dripped down the corner of his mouth.
