Global Awakening: I'm the Only One Ready

This news immediately caught everyone’s attention. Its impact far exceeded that of the earthquake in the east.

Yinglong—a being from mythology. Someone had once claimed that they saw it on Mount Kunlun, but nothing came of it afterward. Most people believed it was fabricated, but now, things were different. Yinglong had truly emerged.

And it had flown directly from Mount Kunlun...

Videos spread online almost immediately, depicting a dragon with two wings tearing through the air at breakneck speeds. It moved so fast that it shattered the sound barrier. Wherever it passed, clouds would churn violently, and lightning would flash.

It truly resembled the Dragon King of mythology, which was capable of summoning wind and commanding rain. Fortunately, it showed no intention of harming humanity and made a beeline for the east instead.

└ Yinglong flew over the Qinling Mountains and is still going. It just passed over Chang’an.

└ Where is it going? Mount Tai?

└ I don’t think so. Didn’t an earthquake just hit the Eastern Sea? I think it’s heading there.

└ The Eastern Sea? Is it the Dragon King of the Eastern Sea or something?

All sorts of comments were posted online. Dragons were the true mythological beings of Huaxia, so everyone’s disbelief and stupefaction were understandable.

The government officials were aware of what was going on, and they had been monitoring the situation closely. Seeing that Yinglong had no intention of harming humans, they chose not to interfere.

Lu Yuan also received the news. A clear look of interest surfaced in his eyes.

The Great Age is nigh. We’ll soon see beings straight out of myths.

Thinking of that, he could not help but feel helpless. Mythological beings, beings from outer space, folded spaces, supreme legacies—these major events were intertwined. Great figures would soon take the stage, ushering in an unprecedented Great Age of Strife.

Back when he was a nobody, he could only drift along with the tides of the era. At that time, survival was good enough.

However, Lu Yuan had become stronger than ever before. He would face the Great Age head-on and would even influence the changes to come.

Of course, this was not his true goal. Once the Great Age arrived, supreme beings from countless starfields would all make their moves. He could not simply participate; he had to be the one holding the pieces on the chessboard.

”King Lu,” said Zhu Qingyu. Elder Ji and Elder Yun followed closely behind her.

”The sect masters of the Three Immortal Islands wish to see you. They say they have something important to discuss with you.”

Lu Yuan nodded. He already had a rough guess as to why they wanted to see him.

”Alright. Let them in.”

Before long, the sect masters of Penglai, Fangzhang, and Yingzhou walked into Lu Yuan’s residence. Since their submission, they had been extremely diligent. They trained students at many different Aurora Academy branches, and their attitude so far had been impeccable.

Today, all three revealed solemn faces. Upon seeing Lu Yuan, they bowed deeply according to their ancient customs.

”King Lu, great changes are coming to the Eastern Sea. Our ancient records state that a powerful race once dwelled in the depths of the Eastern Sea, leaving behind many legacies. Those beings from the Outer Cosmos will surely covet those legacies.

”Those legacies are from our world. We cannot allow them to take those away.”

Even though their ancestors were branded ”cowards” for hiding themselves instead of facing the great calamity at the time, they still regarded themselves as people of this world.

According to their ancient records, the changes in the depths of the Eastern Sea could reshape the world’s power structure. Since they had already submitted to Lu Yuan, they would spare no effort to help him.

Of course, they also had their own motives.

Hearing that, Lu Yuan could not help but smile slightly.

The Three Immortal Islands were indeed sensible.

”I understand what you’re saying,” he said. ”As long as you remain loyal, the restraints on you can be dissolved in the future.”

The fact that they visited Lu Yuan in a hurry was a display of their stance. They wanted to show him that they harbored no second thoughts about their collaboration.

They wanted to earn Lu Yuan’s trust and regain their freedom afterward.

After all, no one wanted their life to be under someone else’s control forever.

”Thank you, King Lu.” The Sect Master of Penglai quickly bowed again in joy.

”We have a deep-sea map left behind by our ancestors. If King Lu plans to go to the Eastern Sea, you may take this with you,” said the Sect Master of Fangzhang, producing a scroll from his sleeve before offering it to Lu Yuan.

As long as they behaved properly, the restraints on them would surely be dissolved later. Besides, Lu Yuan had already made his stance clear. Someone of Lu Yuan’s stature would surely not deceive them as well.

”Good.” Lu Yuan nodded and accepted the map. It could prove useful to him.

After exchanging a few more words, the three sect masters left. Lu Yuan watched their retreating figures, and then he turned his gaze on Elder Ji and the others.

”I want you to choose a group of capable people from the Celestial Court to accompany me to the Eastern Sea. There are great opportunities there, which will surely help them evolve even further.”

He had already been planning to leave and visit locations with great boons and opportunities that were ripe for the picking. The Eastern Sea had long been part of his plans. Now, he decided to go there first before anywhere else.

As far as he could remember, this event had produced a batch of experts in the past. If he could cultivate a few people capable of handling certain matters by themselves, he would not need to personally oversee everything afterward.

”Alright. We’ll do as you said.”

Elder Ji, Elder Yun, and the others nodded in unison.

Zhu Qingyu looked excited, knowing that she would definitely be included.

Just like that, the group got ready to leave.

”Wait,” Lu Yuan said and asked, ”What has Miss Jiang been doing lately?”

The recent descent of so many beings from outer space couldn’t have eluded Jiang Ningxian’s eyes. Lu Yuan believed she couldn’t possibly stay on the sidelines, especially when the world was changing rapidly by the day.

”Not much. She’s been keeping to herself recently. However, Elder Jiang has been frequently delivering breathing techniques, visualization methods, and various other materials to us, saying that they are meant to assist the Celestial Court.”

”I see.” Lu Yuan nodded. It seemed Jiang Ningxian was also getting ready.

The Jiang Clan of the Desolate Flame Starfield was likely already on the move. A top-ten starfield. It seemed that truly terrifying powerhouses would soon appear, and perhaps they would see existences beyond the Sage Realm.

Since the Jiang Clan was getting ready, the Ji Clan would certainly not fall behind.

I’ve got so much to do.

Lu Yuan issued a few more instructions before dismissing everyone.

In the backyard, the Meridian Heavenmend Furnace still hovered in midair, emitting misty radiance. Heaven-Earth Spiritual Energy continuously converged on it, and pure energy would erupt from within the furnace at certain intervals.

”It seems this great pill still needs more time in the furnace,” Lu Yuan muttered. By his rough estimate, the pill would be close to completion upon his return from the Eastern Sea.

With that, he sat down and practiced his visualization method and breathing technique. He focused on nothing but stabilizing his current level of strength.

Time passed bit by bit. After the massive earthquakes and Yinglong’s verified emergence from Kunlun, countless eyes focused on the developments that followed.

Soon, it was confirmed that Yinglong’s destination was indeed the Eastern Sea. As soon as it made its way to the Eastern Sea, it plunged into the waters and vanished without a trace.

At the same time, news spread that the officials would investigate the true reason behind the earthquakes on the Eastern Sea, and to make matters even more amazing, King Lu would stand at the helm of the investigation team.

Many Awakened immediately shared the same thought of the same thing.

What would happen once King Lu and Yinglong came face to face?

Many people set out at once, preparing to watch from afar.

Meanwhile, the beings from outer space finally began making their move.

The Eastern Sea instantly became the center of everyone’s attention.

A few days later, Elder Ji was finally done selecting the people who would go with Lu Yuan to the Eastern Sea, and they were Zhu Qingyu, Ice Fairy, Gu Sang, Asura, Chunyang, and Monk Huikong.

All were elites of the younger generation and were now members of the Celestial Court. They were all at the Unfettered Realm with great potential.

They would accompany Lu Yuan to the Eastern Sea. The Golden-Winged Great Peng would go as well. It could feel the presence of creatures carrying dragon blood there, which would greatly aid its evolution.

Soon, the preparations were complete, and the officials arranged an aircraft to bring them there.

Since there would be quite a few people involved, an aircraft had to be used, and it was estimated that they would reach their destination in ten days.

Just before their departure, the Spirit Monkey appeared to join them. It claimed that its cudgel originated from the Eastern Sea, and it wanted to see whether it could obtain something great from the Eastern Sea.

With that, the group officially set off.

The Golden-Winged Great Peng went ahead first, as it was just too fast.

Lu Yuan traveled with Zhu Qingyu and the others aboard the aircraft. Barring any unforeseen events, these people would become the core members of the Celestial Court in the future.

During the journey, the officials ordered the forces stationed in the Eastern Sea to dispatch ships to survey the seabed and gather some intelligence ahead of time.

Back then, Lu Yuan had intimidated the Southern Sea Kraken, forbidding it from attacking humanity. As a result, the coastal regions of Huaxia had been quite peaceful all this time.

Before, ships couldn’t venture out into the deep sea, but now, they encountered no resistance whatsoever.

Several days later, Lu Yuan sat alone with his eyes closed, resting.

Beside him, the Spirit Monkey clutched its cudgel, scratching its ears and cheeks, looking visibly restless. This was its nature; it could never sit still.

To calm it down, Gu Sang took out a banana.

The Spirit Monkey’s eyes widened. It was a beast king, yet it was being treated like an ordinary monkey. The sight drew knowing smiles from the others, easing the monotony of the journey.

Lu Yuan opened his eyes and calmly said, ”We’re almost there. No need to be so restless.”

The Spirit Monkey reluctantly settled down, but it continued to fidget in its seat.

”King Lu.”

Zhu Qingyu and Ice Fairy walked up with several documents in hand.

”Our ships confirmed that the seabed of the Eastern Sea has gone through massive changes. Our scanners captured these images. Please take a look,” Zhu Qingyu said, handing the documents over.

Lu Yuan accepted them without hesitation. As he examined them carefully, his expression shifted slightly.

”What is it?” The Spirit Monkey leaned over and took a glance. ”Huh? There are buildings on the seabed, too?”

”In the West, there’s the so-called Atlantis, where the God of the Sea, Poseidon, once dwelled,” Gu Sang remarked.

By now, the strange phenomena came as a surprise to no one. They interpreted the changes as something related to some myth, which often proved accurate.

Hence, the people often called the New Era ”the Age of Myths.”

”You said it yourself. It’s Western. That doesn’t look like Atlantis to me. Those buildings look Eastern,” Chunyang said. A strange phenomenon in the East ought to be interpreted through the myths of the East rather than Western mythology.

”Amitabha,” Huikong said, ”This humble monk has thought of something. These structures resemble a palace, and a very large one at that. Given their location in the Eastern Sea, could this perhaps be the mythological Dragon Palace?”

The Eastern Sea, and the Dragon Palace...

Everyone’s hearts trembled upon hearing that.
