Global Awakening: I'm the Only One Ready

The Great Sun’s Flame Divine Furnace had the same function as the Eleven-Tier Blood Pagoda, but it was more powerful. It contained the power of Extreme Yang, making it an excellent supreme treasure for tempering one’s physique and vital qi.

In addition, Lu Yuan was certain its effects extended beyond even that.

He contemplated a certain idea. He had already assimilated the Eleven-Tier Blood Pagoda. If he were to fuse the two divine artifacts with each other, what would happen?

He had a premonition that doing so would bring about unexpected benefits.

After doing his research, he felt like the idea was completely feasible. Both were treasures for tempering one’s vital qi, so they wouldn’t reject each other. Though it would be difficult, Lu Yuan felt it was worth attempting.

Upon returning to Mount Tai, he would enter seclusion to try to fuse them.

When it came to evolution, physique was particularly important for human beings.

The stronger one’s physique, the smoother one’s journey would become on the path of evolution. In fact, that was the reason he decided to obtain the Eleven-Tier Blood Pagoda back then.

”Master, Mount Tai is just ahead,” the Golden-Winged Great Peng said, gazing at the magnificent mountain.

”Good. You’ve worked hard. For now, focus on purifying your bloodline. The world is about to change, and we need to be strong for it,” Lu Yuan said. He took out a few spiritual fruits and exotic herbs from the Meridian Heavenmend Furnace. They were from Mount Olympus, and they weren’t that useful to him at this point.

”As your mount, it is my duty to work hard,” the Golden-Winged Great Peng said. ”I’ve discovered mutated beasts with dragon blood along the coast. I’ll head over there and deal with them. You need not worry about me, Master.”

By now, it had stopped resisting its role. Having such a powerful master was a source of pride instead. After all, Lu Yuan had dominated all mutated beasts under heaven all by himself!

”Sounds good,” Lu Yuan said, nodding without saying more. He wouldn’t overly involve himself in the Golden-Winged Great Peng’s evolution. Relying on oneself was the principle, as outsiders were difficult to depend on. This applied to anyone.

Of course, he would provide assistance, but with its current strength, it didn’t need any help.

Screech!

The Golden-Winged Great Peng picked up the pace. Before long, they saw Mount Tai Trials Academy and descended. The patrolling soldiers didn’t obstruct them. In fact, they raised their hands in salute.

Elder Ji, Elder Yun, and others waited in the plaza down below. When Lu Yuan descended and had alighted, the Golden-Winged Great Peng spread its wings and soared into the sky once more, disappearing from sight.

”This time, we truly must thank you again, King Lu.” Elder Ji approached with a smile full of respect and some excitement on his face. ”A journey to all the famed mountains and great rivers to crush dozens of beast kings. Whenever a certain man appears, all beast kings beneath the heavens fall silent...

”King Lu, please accept our bow.”

Elder Yun stepped forward with a cupped fist. He was full of admiration for Lu Yuan.

At first, they thought it would take a long time to resolve, so they hadn’t expected it to end in less than two months. How many lives had Lu Yuan saved thus far? In the face of Lu Yuan’s great achievement, Elder Ji and Elder Yun wanted to show their respect and were about to bow, but Lu Yuan stopped them with a slight shake of his head, telling them that he had only done what he ought to do.

Since he had enough power to do some things, why would he not do them? It wasn’t like they hadn’t protected him back then in his previous life.

From the two elders’ words, he learned that his journey had greatly decreased mutated beast attacks across the nation. The attack hadn’t vanished entirely, but the officials could deal with the occasional attacks.

In addition, they were accelerating the construction of the super cities to relocate the civilians as soon as possible. They were also expanding their capacity to ensure that they could accommodate as many civilians as they could.

Through Jiang Ningxian, they learned about the descent of beings from the Outer Cosmos. No one knew if it would be a great thing or a bad thing until then. They could only become even stronger to protect the civilians.

Lu Yuan had nothing to say about it; the officials’ actions were sound.

”Ah, right, Miss Jiang gave us several breathing techniques and visualization methods,” Elder Ji said. ”She said her clan uses them to build a foundation. It’s an expression of sincerity for our collaboration, and she also promised to gift us more down the road. We’ve studied them, and they’re pretty good.”

Despite saying that, his face showed hesitation despite his words.

He was prepared to distribute them to the students of the Aurora Academy. After all, the officials possessed only a few of such techniques, but he was worried about using them, as they ultimately came from outsiders.

What if something went wrong? He wanted to hear Lu Yuan’s opinion first.

”Since she gave them away, there shouldn’t be any problems. But take it slowly, don’t rush.” Lu Yuan knew that, in his previous life, the officials profited a lot from the Jiang Clan. Breathing and visualization techniques were just the beginning.

In the future, they would provide resources to bolster one’s evolution, allowing people to adapt to the changes in the world. The Jiang Clan harbored no hostility at all; they were truly sincere. Of course, for peace of mind, Lu Yuan told everyone not to be hasty. It made sense; trust couldn’t be built overnight, after all.

”All right.” Elder Ji nodded. He had some reservations about Jiang Ningxian, but he had complete trust in Lu Yuan. Afterward, everyone chatted briefly about some topics. Then, Lu Yuan took his leave and returned to his residence.

He went directly to the training chamber. After a brief preparation, he took out the Great Sun’s Flame Divine Furnace.

The Great Sun’s Flame Divine Furnace remained unchanged, still emitting wisps of scorching aura.

The vital qi within Lu Yuan trembled continuously at the sight of it, seemingly carrying a distinct yearning for something. Without hesitation, he took out the Great Luo Sword Embryo and cut his palm.

Drops of golden blood boiled like magma upon contact with the furnace.

The Great Sun’s Flame Divine Furnace emanated streams of light that filled the room in an instant. As Lu Yuan’s blood melted into it, the furnace resonated in harmony with his blood. The furnace’s aura grew dense, transforming into what seemed like a blazing, dazzling great sun.

The sight told Lu Yuan that the fusion had begun. The process required time and all of his focus. Lu Yuan emptied his mind, feeling the power of the Great Sun’s Flame Divine Furnace.

Thump, thump, thump!

The furnace transformed into a ray of light and entered his chest.

The Bloodforce Pagoda appeared and showed resistance. However, Lu Yuan wanted to fuse the two completely, so he circulated his power to suppress them both.

Sizzle!

All the blood in his body began to boil. The Bloodforce Pagoda ceased its resistance. Together with the Great Sun’s Flame Divine Furnace, it began tempering Lu Yuan’s physique down to every cell.

Each of his cells transformed into what looked like a great sun containing the power of Extreme Yang. Lu Yuan was shrouded in radiance as his flesh, blood, and cells underwent a qualitative transformation.

Just as he had anticipated, the fusion triggered a qualitative change. Tempering one’s physique was a difficult, painful process, but he was too strong, and his foundation was too solid, which meant he had no obstacles to face.

He focused on controlling the two divine artifacts, eagerly waiting for them to fuse.

Just like that, time trickled by.

During Lu Yuan’s seclusion, many things happened in the outside world.

First of all, the officials picked up their speed in constructing the super cities. The Aurora Academy branches in many cities began recruiting more students. After all, they had access to resources from Mount Tai, allowing them to cultivate more Awakened.

There were also the breathing techniques and visualization methods given by Jiang Ningxian. After confirming that there were no problems with what they had received from her, the officials allowed some students to make use of them.

Thanks to Lu Yuan intimidating all mutated beasts across the nation, the nation welcomed a brief peace. Whether Awakened or ordinary citizens, they no longer worried about any mutated beast attacks. The Alliance of Humankind also relieved the nation of both external and internal threats.

The peace gave people more time to focus on their evolution. It was a rare peace that allowed many to breathe a sigh of relief. Everyone knew that it was all thanks to King Lu, and everyone’s admiration for him grew even stronger than before.

However, some still felt worried; they felt as if the peace was the calm before the storm, and their worry wasn’t baseless at all. After all, the frequency of natural disasters was becoming more frequent. Earthquakes and tsunamis came one after another, each larger than the last.

The oceans were restless, but the mutated beasts weren’t the reason behind the chaos.

One day, a never-before-seen tsunami formed on the Bohai Sea. The tsunami was so terrifying that its waves reached a hundred meters high, accompanied by a storm that lasted for three full days.

The firmament itself turned gray as well, creating an alarming sight that people likened to the omen of doomsday. Moreover, the mutated beasts living on the famed mountains and great rivers across the nation howled restlessly as if welcoming another awakening.

The phenomenon was so terrifying that the officials and most Awakened headed to the Bohai Sea, wanting to know what had happened. However, their many days of investigation resulted in finding a big pile of nothing.

They found no reason behind the phenomenon until after the waves subsided and the residents at the coast discovered radiant lights on the distant horizon. The lights were accompanied by purple qi coming from the east, dyeing the clouds in a purple hue.

In addition, a powerful aura could be felt sweeping toward the nation from where the purple qi was coming from. The incident caught the officials’ attention, and they dispatched people to take a closer look.

Due to fear of the unknown, they dared not approach. Several more days later, the people discovered the silhouette of three islands within those radiant lights. Thanks to the advent of modern technology, the officials managed to take a clear view of them even from afar.

The lush islands brimmed with light. Immortal cranes soaring across the skies; seven-colored bridges stretching across the islands; and palaces shrouded in purple appeared before those taking a closer look at them.

No matter which angle they looked at it, they all came to the same conclusion. They resembled the islands inhabited by immortal beings according to ancient records!
