Global Awakening: I'm the Only One Ready

The Awakened and officials watched as two additional masses of black energy appeared on the distant horizon. The massive lumps of black energy dyed the sky in a dark hue.

Their powerful auras made everyone feel as if an eternal darkness was descending upon the world.

The instruments all over Mount Tai blared to life, warning them of the approaching formidable life signatures that they had long identified as the Nether Bulls.

Among all the beings that had descended from the Outer Cosmos, the Nether Bulls were the most active. The others seemed to have gone into hiding after landing.

In stark contrast, three Nether Bulls from the Thunderflash Starfield actually appeared before everyone. Before this, they acted alone, but this time, they chose to work together for some reason.

「There are actually three of them? Three Venerable King Realm beings? How are we supposed to fight that?」

「I guess Mount Tai is just that special, huh? They actually decided to work together just to seize it.」

「The Peacock King and the Nine-tailed Fox King couldn’t even handle one. And there are three of them out there. Can King Lu really deal with them?」

The people were deeply concerned. Even though they knew Lu Yuan’s strength was extraordinary, he was still an entire realm weaker than the Nether Bulls. To make matters even worse, there were three of them at once.

When Elder Ji, Elder Yun, and the others saw the three Nether Bulls, they all frowned. They had a nuke ready for deployment, but there was no guarantee that they could help Lu Yuan against three Nether Bulls.

”Maybe we should try to convince King Lu to lie low for now,” said Elder Yun. He had always been aggressive with a fiery temper. He was decisive and swift when it came to making decisions, but this situation was just beyond their expectations.

Elder Yun believed that it would be easy for them to shift their base away from Mount Tai, and he also believed that they could not let Lu Yuan take such a risk. After all, the chances of something untoward happening to Lu Yuan were low but never zero.

What if something happened to him?

”Once King Lu has made a decision, nothing can change his mind. All we can do is make sure that he has nothing to worry about,” Elder Ji said, shaking his head. He knew Lu Yuan would never back down just because the situation had changed.

That was not his nature, after all.

He and the others then decided on their next course of action. If the unexpected occurred and even a nuke couldn’t deal much damage, they would ascend the mountain themselves.

Even if it meant death, they would fight. They could not hide behind King Lu forever, after all.

Meanwhile, the world panicked over the appearance of three Nether Bulls. Even the Awakened with absolute confidence in Lu Yuan fell silent.

Facing one was feasible, but now that there were three... it seemed impossible to defend Mount Tai now.

Lu Yuan knew nothing of their worry. Somewhere in the Mount Trials Academy, he sensed the powerful Nether Bull aura. He opened his eyes, and streams of brilliant light erupted from his pupils before disappearing as quickly as they appeared.

I’ve finally adjusted to my newfound power at the Golden Body Realm. Now, it’s time to see just how much stronger I’ve become. Anticipation showed on his face as he stood and walked out of the room.

Jiang Ningxian remained in closed-door seclusion and had not walked out of her residence for several days now. Lu Yuan believed she was going through some kind of transformation at the moment.

Lu Yuan paid her no mind. Instead, he raised his head and looked at the sky. Three distinct auras were making a beeline for Jade Emperor Peak, and they were already within Mount Tai.

The Nether Bulls’ massive hundred-meter figures emanated waves of power that almost dyed the sky black. The pressure they released was terrifying even from afar.

”King Lu...” Zhu Qingyu muttered, looking worried as she walked up to Lu Yuan.

If anyone had absolute faith in Lu Yuan’s strength, it would be her.

However, even Zhu Qingyu was starting to worry. After all, those Nether Bulls were from outer space.

”Tell Elder Ji and Elder Yun that it won’t take long.” Lu Yuan smiled, sounding calm.

Then, he stepped on the air itself and vanished into the distance at breakneck speeds.

His destination was Mount Tai’s Jade Emperor Peak.

***

The livestream on Jade Emperor Peak had started a while ago, so everyone got a clear look at the three Nether Bulls as soon as they appeared. Each one of the Nether Bulls was absolutely massive, and their presence was truly overwhelming as they descended on the summit.

The Spirit Monkey, the Nine-tailed Fox King, and the Peacock King stood before them. Their gazes were razor-sharp, and they slowly released their own auras to prepare for a fight.

Unfortunately, the massive gap of an entire stage made it so that they couldn’t resist the Nether Bulls, despite their extraordinary bloodlines.

”You three aren’t bad. Surrender Mount Tai to us and become our servants,” said the leader of the Nether Bulls in a booming voice. It accurately called out the words ”Mount Tai.” Clearly, they had studied Earth before their descent.

Upon arriving at Jade Emperor Peak, they wasted no time with pleasantries and demanded the immediate submission of the three beast kings.

Unfortunately for the three beast kings, strength reigned supreme, and the three Nether Bulls were far stronger than they were.

”You wish!” the Peacock King roared in fury. ”Mount Tai has always belonged to us, the native creatures of this world. Why should we hand it over to you? You want us to submit? What a joke! Given enough time, can you really say you’ll remain stronger than us?”

As beast kings, their pride was immense. How could they tolerate orders from these beings from the Outer Cosmos? If it weren’t for its severe injuries, it would fight regardless of the odds of winning.

”Words are useless. Submission is impossible. The only option is to fight,” the Spirit Monkey remarked, its temper flaring as its golden fur stood on end. The iron cudgel in its hand burst with light, seemingly itching for battle like its owner.

The Nine-tailed Fox King said nothing, but its resolute gaze said everything. The blessed lands of Earth belonged to the creatures of Earth. The beings before them were nothing but invaders.

”The Milky Way Starfield has just been unsealed, yet its beings are already this foolish,” said the leader of the Nether Bulls. Waves of oppressive black energy then poured out of it.

The major clans of the starfields outside had given the name ”Milky Way Starfield” to this region of the universe.

”Since they want a fight, then let’s give them one,” said one of the Nether Bulls.

”They’re just lesser creatures. No need to waste any more words,” said a Nether Bull, directly branding the three beast kings as ”lesser creatures.”

Despite looking like the embodiment of the word ”beast” itself, the Nether Bulls were more condescending than human beings could be. They acted as if they were creatures from a higher plane of existence looking down on primitive beings.

The Nether Bulls stepped forward, and their black energy containing the power of three Venerable Kings converged on one point.

BOOM!

A violent tremor ran across Jade Emperor Peak.

The Nether Bulls were truly powerful. The waves of energy billowing out of them were already formidable attacks in their own right.

A Venerable King on Earth was an unimaginable existence. After all, a Venerable King could pierce Earth’s atmosphere and survive in the vacuum of space.

Swoosh!

The gathered black energy transformed into a raging torrent. The three Nether Bulls clearly wanted to crush the three beast kings with their pressure alone. They believed attacking these three mutated beast kings was beneath them.

Rumble!

Waves of terrifying power swept outward, forming a storm that engulfed all of Jade Emperor Peak. Of the three beast kings, only the Spirit Monkey was uninjured. The other two were still badly wounded and hadn’t fully recovered yet.

They were forced to retreat, as they couldn’t even withstand the tempest of aura before them.

The scene was captured by the drones all over Mount Tai.

When everyone watching saw it, they were horrified. The beings from outer space were far more powerful than they had imagined. If humans were in the three beast kings’ place, they wouldn’t stand a chance against the Nether Bulls.

The waves of pressure emanating from them alone could easily crush someone to death.

However, beast kings were still beast kings. Their formidable bloodlines allowed them to push forward once more, despite being forced to retreat two steps backward.

”It seems you want to die,” said one of the Nether Bulls. Then, it roared and extended its claws to attack.

In response, the Peacock King unleashed its power. He was determined to make these invaders pay, even if it meant dying at their hands.

Boom!

Just then, a powerful wave of energy swept across them. The new wave of energy was as violent as an erupting volcano, and a streak of golden vital qi appeared immediately afterward. It pierced the black energy shrouding the Jade Emperor Peak, looking like golden rays of sunlight vanquishing the night.

Moments later, Lu Yuan appeared in the sky. He seemed to be walking through the tempest of aura all over Jade Emperor Peak. As he descended, the energy emanating from the three Venerable Kings parted.

In the face of the Nether Bull’s claws, he said nothing and simply punched it.

Boom!

A burst of golden vital qi rippled outward, scattering the clouds in the sky.

The Nether Bull’s claw cracked open along with its limb, and thick black blood gushed out of the wound at once.

All of this happened in an instant. In less than a single breath, the tide turned.

”King Lu!” The Spirit Monkey and the other two beast kings sighed in relief upon seeing him. Then, they stared in disbelief at the Nether Bull retreating with its limb cracked open.

Lu Yuan was far stronger than they had initially imagined.

「King Lu is here!」

「He knocked that bull back with a single strike. How?」

「I’d expect nothing less. King Lu is still King Lu.」

The viewers watching the livestream were thrilled at the sight.

Lu Yuan didn’t rush to attack. He turned to look at the three beast kings with a smile. ”It’s good that I got here just in time. You three should rest for now.”

The Spirit Monkey felt uncomfortable upon hearing that, so it immediately replied, ”Aren’t we supposed to be fighting together?”

It had faith in Lu Yuan’s strength, but it also believed that they could be helpful to him.

”No need. Against them, I, alone, am enough.” Lu Yuan shook his head and said nothing more. He turned to face the three Nether Bulls. Light glimmered in his eyes as power gathered inside him.

”Who are you? Are you a native of this world?”

The leader of the Nether Bulls sensed a terrifying energy within Lu Yuan. Yes, a terrifying energy even for it. For some reason, however, Lu Yuan appeared to be just at the fourth stage of evolution, the Golden Body Realm.

This was strange. Someone as powerful as him couldn’t be in the Milky Way Starfield so early. In other words, Lu Yuan had to be from the Outer Cosmos instead of a native of Earth.

”Who am I? I’m your killer,” Lu Yuan replied. Then, he wasted no time and stepped forward, unleashing the surging power inside him.

BOOM!

A boundless tidal wave of golden vital qi erupted. Then, it transformed into an ocean of golden vital qi, engulfing everything within several hundred meters of him.

Lu Yuan’s organs pulsed, generating noises that no longer sounded like war drums, but like the rumblings of thunder.

Despite facing three terrifying beings from the Outer Cosmos, Lu Yuan stood steadfast, looking quite extraordinary thanks to the golden vital qi rushing out of him.

The ”ocean” of golden vital qi suppressed all three Nether Bulls, and his aura was still rising.

”This is bad. There’s something strange about that guy. Let’s attack him together!” exclaimed the leader of the Nether Bulls. In spite of the fact that it was a powerful Venerable King, he felt a sense of foreboding in the face of Lu Yuan.

Right now, Lu Yuan’s origins didn’t matter. They had to deal with him first before asking the important questions later.

Rumble!

A flood of terrifying black energy erupted from them.

Meanwhile, Lu Yuan’s golden vital qi was still growing stronger. Then, he stepped forward and hovered in mid-air.

Elder Ji, Elder Yun, and the others outside the Trials Academy looked at the Jade Emperor Peak in disbelief.

An ”ocean” of golden vital qi and a deluge of black energy collided in midair.

BOOM!

A cataclysmic explosion occurred, akin to a nuclear explosion. The shockwaves alone flattened every single tree around Jade Emperor Peak. The powerful explosion told everyone one thing. They were about to witness a battle that they had never seen since the dawn of the New Era.
