Global Awakening: I'm the Only One Ready

Lu Yuan frowned but didn’t panic upon hearing that. He gestured for the two to sit and calm down. Judging by their faces, the matter wasn’t critical.

Elder Ji spoke first, explaining that natural disasters had been occurring at a higher frequency recently. Of course, this wasn’t much of an issue since the officials had now reclaimed all authority and had many resources at their disposal.

Unlike during the first Global Awakening, when they could barely react to what was happening, these natural disasters hadn’t been able to cause much damage at all.

The problem was the mutated beasts. Their numbers had increased, and they had become violent, attacking cities and towns. The five super cities were still under construction. After all, it hadn’t even been two years since their construction began.

In other words, many people had yet to relocate to the super cities. Those living in the remote regions of the nation suffered the most. By the time the army arrived to help them, it would be too late.

Under such circumstances, terror still gripped the hearts of the people, even though beast tides had already become a thing of the past.

”King Lu, we have an agreement with those ten great beast kings,” Elder Yun said with concern. ”Have they gone back on their word?”

He feared the Peacock King had reneged. Although the military recruited many Awakened, they weren’t that strong yet. Beast tides could still happen at any time, and even though they had powerful nukes, they couldn’t use them lightly.

Nukes were too powerful; a moment of carelessness could ignite a great war between humans and mutated beasts with unimaginable consequences.

In addition, they couldn’t just nuke a highly urbanized city, could they?

”Since an agreement was made, they naturally won’t go back on their word,” Lu Yuan said, shaking his head. ”The world has expanded and is still expanding. And how many famed mountains and great rivers are out there? Even the ten great beast kings cannot take full control of their respective regions. I believe the chaos is orchestrated by some mutated beasts running amok.”

The ten great beast kings led by the Peacock King and the Spirit Monkey occupied many famous mountains, but they couldn’t control everyone. Even humans in a huge group were divided into their respective factions.

Lu Yuan realized that rebellious mutated beasts were the ones behind the attacks.

”What should we do?” asked Elder Ji, ”Should we summon the beast kings to talk to them about it?”

He wanted to do that, but he couldn’t pull the trigger, so he decided to seek out Lu Yuan. They felt they could summon the beast kings and negotiate to ease the chaos. In their eyes, King Lu had done enough and need not be troubled any further.

”It’s useless.” Lu Yuan shook his head with a smile. ”Their territories are too huge. In addition, those mutated beasts won’t necessarily heed the Peacock King and the Spirit Monkey’s orders.

Even if they come, talk will achieve little.”

He knew some mutated beasts harbored extreme hostility toward humans. As long as they could harm humans, it’d be enough for them. Though the Peacock King had prevented true beast tides, ambushes remained troublesome.

”Then what should we do?” Elder Ji and Elder Yun exchanged grave glances. They had ways to address the issue, but the price to pay was just too massive compared to the payoff.

Moreover, the Alliance of Humankind had just been founded. The two had been incredibly busy recently.

”Simple,” Lu Yuan said, standing up with a fierce gaze. ”A little bloodshed will do.”

An inexplicable might swept out of him as killing intent surged in his eyes. The two men were shocked. A little bloodshed... what did that mean? Before they could ask, Lu Yuan smiled and said, ”I’m going to visit every famed mountain and great river across the nation to set a few examples.

”When dealing with mutated beasts, talking is often useless. If you must talk, talk with your fists. Anyway, tell me what I need to know and leave it to me.”

He had no reason to stay courteous to those stubborn beasts. In the end, everything would still come down to those famous five words—”Stop the killings by killing!”

The timing was just perfect, as the beings from the Outer Cosmos had yet to truly descend.

Elder Ji and Elder Yun immediately understood the meaning behind his words. It was simple—King Lu was about to start a killing spree. The two exchanged glances. Then, they stood up and bowed solemnly.

For King Lu, this matter was nothing but a mere inconvenience, but for countless civilians out there, it meant salvation.

Without wasting words, the two left to make the appropriate preparations.

Meanwhile, Lu Yuan summoned the Golden-Winged Great Peng once again. It had made a breakthrough and was on its way to reaching the Golden Body Realm.

Soon, the elders delivered a list of cities under attack and the list of hostile mutated beast kings. Lu Yuan didn’t hesitate. He hopped onto the Golden-Winged Great Peng and pierced the firmament.

The Internet buzzed with activity due to the recent attacks on quite a few cities by the hostile mutated beasts. The chaos was becoming increasingly apparent. Some Awakened were so pissed that they decided to take matters into their own hands to protect the lives of ordinary people.

They had decided to make a move, not because there was a promise of a return; it was simply because of their determination to protect human lives! However, their actions were like droplets of water dropped into the ocean.

There were just too many mutated beasts and beast kings.

The Awakened created a forum to share information and ask for help.

└Sigh, this isn’t sustainable. They’re everywhere, and we can’t keep running around exhausted.

└Actually, there are beast kings orchestrating things behind the scenes. If we deal with them, the rest is manageable.

└Yes, near Mount Hua, there’s a Lion King commanding the beasts to descend the mountain.

└What good does knowing that do? We’re too weak to deal with the Lion King. I heard the authorities have been working hard to handle those mutated beasts, but they aren’t just strong enough.

Many people left comments describing the situation, knowing the problem lay with certain beast kings. Unfortunately, most of the Awakened were only at the Foundation Realm or the Awakened Realm.

They were too weak to deal with the beast kings. The officials had Unfettered Realm experts at their disposal, but there were far too few of them.

Of course, the commenters were just venting their frustrations here. Upon learning of the nearest mutated beast attack, they would still choose to rush over and help.

Soon, explosive news appeared on the forum...

King Lu has left Mount Tai to visit all the famed mountains and great rivers across the nation!

Upon reading the announcement, everyone was thrilled, and heated discussions about it soon appeared everywhere. In their eyes, King Lu making a move meant any issue was practically resolved. Even a nuke couldn’t deal with him, and he was so strong that he alone dominated the world.

Everyone quietly waited for more news. Sure enough, someone left a comment.

└King Lu has descended upon Mount Hua; he slew the Lion King to intimidate countless mutated beasts. His next stop is Mount Qiyun!

└What? He’s already started? Tune in, everyone! I feel King Lu will single-handedly suppress every mutated beast out there!

└Breaking news! King Lu visited the Yandang Mountains and casually killed three beast kings along with over a hundred mutated beasts. He was drenched in their blood, and an Awakened on scene uploaded a video of it!

└Today, King Lu visited Mount Tianzhu. He didn’t even land. He stayed on his golden peng and threw a punch down, killing five beast kings on the spot.

└According to official sources, mutated beasts have begun restraining themselves, not daring to act rashly for fear of being targeted!

└He’s too strong! He alone dominates the world. No, the era! He’s truly worthy of his title as the King of Humanity!”

News about Lu Yuan’s exploits spread like wildfire for over a month. The people of Huaxia were stupefied by his feats. One man had single-handedly killed dozens of beast kings to intimidate the mutated beasts.

The intimidated mutated beasts dared not cause trouble anymore. As a result, the ongoing chaos across the nation was resolved.

Everyone found it unbelievable, and they couldn’t stop chanting ”King Lu.” After all, his actions had saved many lives.

”Good thing I didn’t make a move back then. With how domineering he is, he would have killed me back then,” remarked the Black Bull King while feeling his horns back at home in Huoyan Mountains. Upon hearing the news spreading like wildfire among the mutated beasts, he was intimidated and became thoroughly convinced of Lu Yuan’s might.

”Humanity has produced an incomparably powerful being. It seems we beasts will end up being suppressed again,” the Peacock King remarked. He had informed the beast kings from Jade Emperor Peak to continue honoring their original agreement.

With King Lu present, it would be better for them to behave in the future.

”What an interesting individual. Once I’ve awakened my bloodline and can assume a human form, I must take a good look at him,” the Nine-tailed Fox King remarked; its eyes were full of charm and allure that would work even on humans.

As soon as Lu Yuan started his killing spree, news of it spread everywhere; both humans and mutated beasts paid close attention to him. The only difference between both sides was that humans were thrilled, while the mutated beasts were terrified.

The mutated beasts became worried about their future. Since Lu Yuan was already so strong, how terrifying would he become in the future?

Through their inherited memories, some beast kings deduced that perhaps only those mysterious beings from the Outer Cosmos could suppress Lu Yuan.

In a nutshell, Lu Yuan was indeed dominating the era all by himself. The chaos that had just begun was pacified in less than two months. The mutated beasts restrained themselves and dared not attack human cities as frequently as before, allowing the civilians some respite.

Of course, Lu Yuan knew that this wouldn’t last long. Ultimately, humanity needed to become strong on its own. Therefore, this was essentially just a mere warning.

There was no choice; he wasn’t strong enough to change the entire situation, after all. Fortunately, his actions gave the people of the nation and the officials some breathing room.

When things were finally starting to settle down, Lu Yuan returned to Mount Tai.

During his time away, he had done extensive research on the Great Sun’s Flame Divine Furnace. He found it to be an extraordinarily profound divine artifact. If used well, his physique could rise to greater heights!
