Global Awakening: I'm the Only One Ready

Earth’s second Global Awakening was called the Complete Awakening. Setting aside how the world would change once more, the beings from the Outer Cosmos about to descend could alone plunge everything into chaos.

The Great Age. Wasn’t it an age of great turmoil as well?

Lu Yuan had always been aware of this, and he took it seriously. Even with his current strength, he couldn’t claim to be invincible among those across the universe.

Those capable of descending upon Earth were the most powerful existences from the starfields out there. They were comparable to Jiang Ningxian with extraordinary status, exceptional talent, and at higher evolution stages.

After all, other starfields weren’t like Earth, full of people who had just embarked on the path of evolution.

I should do this now while I still have time. I’ll do it in one go. Clearing his thoughts, Lu Yuan knew that what was meant to come would come.

More than two years had passed since the first Global Awakening, and it was indeed about time.

His preparations were actually quite thorough.

He couldn’t claim absolute confidence in his strength, but his accumulated foundation, the benefits he had obtained from many different divine artifacts, and the changes to his bloodline upon assimilating the blood essence of a Human Sovereign meant his foundation was exceedingly deep.

At the moment, none could match him. Even among beings from the Outer Cosmos, he would be considered the cream of the crop.

Take the present moment, for instance. Lu Yuan was about to push toward the Peak of the Unfettered Realm. In his memories, even the prodigies from the Outer Cosmos couldn’t be compared to him.

He returned to his room and went into seclusion once more.

Only three genetic shackles remained, so it wouldn’t take long. The key was making a breakthrough into the Golden Body Realm. Once he could manifest a Dharma Avatar, his strength would see a tremendous boost.

And so, Lu Yuan drew upon his foundation and began his seclusion.

Meanwhile, Jiang Ningxian didn’t remain idle either. Once the second Global Awakening was complete, the power suppressing her would loosen up some more. This was the perfect opportunity for her to become even stronger.

Her clansmen would arrive a bit later, and before their arrival, there could be many adversaries to face. Without enough strength, she wouldn’t be able to face such foes.

Elsewhere, Elder Ji, Elder Yun, and the others redoubled their efforts to become even stronger. They also dispatched people to Hu City to investigate the Wuzhou Group.

Just as Lu Yuan had predicted, the place was deserted. The Zhou Family’s top executives had vanished. No one knew how they had departed, and it was like they had disappeared overnight.

Eventually, they managed to uncover some information. As for where the Zhou Family had gone, no one knew. The New Era was different from the old days. The world was constantly expanding, and many mysterious locations had emerged.

If someone wanted to hide, finding them would be extremely difficult.

Elder Ji and the others deduced that the Zhou Family had gone into hiding but would resurface later. As for when they would reappear, it remained unclear. It would likely be after the second Global Awakening.

In short, monitoring and dealing with the Zhou Family had become impossible. Their efforts were in vain, and the officials chose to abandon it, focusing on becoming stronger instead.

As time went on, bizarre phenomena and natural disasters across the nation began to dwindle. The mutated beasts also went silent, launching zero attacks on cities.

The entire globe witnessed the same phenomenon, not just Huaxia. The peace allowed ordinary citizens to breathe a sigh of relief. Before all this, danger lurked everywhere, making it difficult for them to live their lives.

Unlike the ordinary people, the Awakened sensed something amiss.

Recently, the government had been urging the citizens to relocate to the five supercities, and they had become stricter than ever. People couldn’t help but wonder whether something else was happening.

Some remained unconcerned, believing that with King Lu present, any problem could be resolved.

Just like that, the world became quiet and peaceful.

Unfortunately, the peace did not last long. A piece of breaking news spread like wildfire across the world, attracting the attention of the world’s Awakened.

Ordinary people remained unaware for now, as the information was being withheld, circulating only among the Awakened.

Humanity’s satellite out in space had captured something at the edge of the solar system. The images depicted a stream of radiant light approaching the solar system. In addition, what looked like comets entered the solar system as well. Those comets were massive, seemingly as huge as an entire mountain.

Modern technology had advanced to the point that they were capable of capturing clearer footage, but the energy fluctuations emanating from the foreign objects were so intense that they couldn’t quite take a closer and clearer look.

All they knew was that at the edge of the solar system, a massive stream of radiant light could be seen careening into the solar system. The images circulated among the Awakened, leaving them stunned.

Of course, they had no idea what was happening.

Just as everyone dove into mindless speculation, someone leaked some information, claiming that the Global Awakening extended to deep space as well.

Beings from outer space would soon appear and descend on Earth. In simple terms, they would eventually meet people from the civilizations beyond the solar system.

Naturally, they were dangerous and could bring about the end of the world.

Everyone reeled in disbelief, and some refused to believe it. However, others felt no need to be afraid of foreign invaders, as Earth had changed drastically with the advent of the Awakened.

Unfortunately, they soon learned that such beings had likely reached the higher stages of evolution. They could be at the fifth stage, or perhaps even the sixth.

If they were hostile, it’d spell disaster for the world.

Governments around the world responded immediately, sending more probes into space in hopes of understanding the situation and determining whether the visitors were friend or foe.

Meanwhile, Lu Yuan remained in seclusion. As always, he sat cross-legged within his training chamber at Mount Tai Trials Academy. As golden vital qi swirled around him, an audible crack echoed.

The final 108th shackle was finally broken, and Lu Yuan transformed once more. A tempestuous aura erupted from him, but he deliberately contained it around him. Otherwise, the entire building would have been obliterated.

”Peak Unfettered Realm... I’m finally here. It feels great.” Joy welled up in his heart upon sensing the power coursing through him.

It couldn’t be said that no one had ever reached the Peak of the Unfettered Realm, but across the many different starfields outside, one would be hard-pressed to find more than a handful of such beings.

Today, Lu Yuan had reached it, but of course, only he was aware of it.

Instead of continuing his seclusion, he left his room. It had been a while since he entered seclusion, and he was curious about the recent events outside.

Eventually, Elder Ji and Elder Yun came to him and told him what had happened. From them, he learned about the stream of radiant light and comets at the edge of the solar system.

So they’re finally here... Lu Yuan’s face grew solemn. ”Gather our forces. Aside from the personnel manning our territories, tell everyone to retreat to the supercities. From now on, we’re going to make Mount Tai our headquarters.”

He knew what would happen, so he made preemptive arrangements for it. With the officials’ current level of strength, a defense was impossible. The only option was to temporarily lie low; otherwise, things would become truly troublesome.

He also talked about some necessary matters to the elders. Elder Ji, Elder Yun, and the others agreed to his suggestions. After all, they were facing the unknown.

Once he was done instructing them, Lu Yuan realized that he needed to reach the Golden Body Realm as quickly as possible. The beings descending from the Outer Cosmos were nothing like the minor players he had faced so far.

Without hesitation, he entered seclusion once more. Advancing to the fourth stage of evolution, the Golden Body Realm, would require some time even with Lu Yuan’s deep foundation. However, he wasn’t worried at all.

The second Global Awakening would help him resolve this issue. Everything would fall into place as if they were puzzle pieces of the same puzzle.

Elder Ji and Elder Yun dished out orders, and everyone made their move. Personnel across all fronts withdrew, leaving only a few people to monitor the nation’s territories.

The defenses of the five supercities were reinforced, and even nukes were secretly prepared. Then, there was also the so-called Celestial Court.

Zhu Qingyu, Ice Fairy, Chunyang, and even Asura were all hoping to become a part of the Celestial Court. However, they couldn’t become a part of it, as there was a firm requirement—one had to reach at least the Unfettered Realm.

Hence, they devoted themselves to becoming even stronger. With the help of the Sect Masters of the Three Immortal Islands as instructors and their own talents and bloodlines, they progressed rapidly.

Zhu Qingyu reached the Unfettered Realm first before Ice Fairy, Chunyang, and Asura.

Meanwhile, many Awakened discovered that they were becoming stronger even faster for some reason. It was as if some restriction placed upon this world had shattered, making both humans and mutated beasts more attuned to evolution.

Many people were thrilled, especially those with powerful bloodlines, as they advanced at breakneck speeds.

In addition, governments around the world launched more sophisticated and advanced probes into space to gather more detailed information about what was coming. All Awakened followed the developments closely, and even ordinary citizens had caught wind of the news, causing widespread unrest across the globe.

Several days later, the probes reached outer space. To prevent any accidents, many contingencies were prepared. Elder Ji also coordinated with the Alliance of Humankind and told foreign nations to observe the stream of light from many different angles.

Unfortunately, the images remained blurry.

The lights grew brighter and brighter until the probes eventually got a closer look.

The radiant stream of light at the edge of the solar system appeared to be a tunnel. An enormous tunnel as big as a planet.

Massive comets rushed out of the tunnel, but it eventually became clear that they weren’t comets. The so-called ”comets” were actually starships emanating a cold sheen.

They rushed out of the massive tunnel and entered the solar system. The steel starships were colossal, and each one spanned at least ten thousand meters.

Any comet in their way was pulverized. The bigger comets that happened to block their way were met with beams of terrifying light fired from the starships, which blasted them to nothingness.

The scene was transmitted to the top echelons of Huaxia, and they were stunned.

Every nation around the world was horrified, and everyone trembled in fear.

The sight truly exceeded their imagination.

Even though basically every being on Earth had already embarked on the path of evolution, the sight still left them reeling in disbelief. The idea of pulverizing a comet with one attack wasn’t just astonishing, it was simply inconceivable.

Not even a nuke could do something like that, after all.

To make matters even worse, it was detected that there were more entities beyond the tunnel.

Eventually, the massive starships flew past Jupiter, and everyone’s fears were eventually confirmed—they were heading for Earth.

No one could remain calm; everyone was shaken.

When terrifying life signatures were detected from those starships, Elder Ji and Elder Yun could no longer sit still, and the dread gripping their hearts only intensified.

Powerful beings from the Outer Cosmos were about to descend. Before long, a new chapter of the world would be revealed, and an entirely new era would begin!
