Global Awakening: I'm the Only One Ready

”Zhou Yunqiong sent someone here?”

Lu Yuan frowned at the news. After the incident at Mount Li, he and she hadn’t had any contact at all. Why would she suddenly seek him out?

”Yes, King Lu,” Zhu Qingyu replied. ”They say they have come to apologize and clear up a misunderstanding. Winged Celestial God has come as well.”

Whenever Lu Yuan was at Mount Tai, Zhu Qingyu would serve as his secretary. Elder Ji had arranged this to spare King Lu from any minor tasks. He couldn’t make Lu Yuan handle everything by himself, could he?

The assistance of an astute and perceptive young woman would surely prove to be helpful as well. Zhu Qingyu had readily accepted the arrangement, and she would always report any significant news to him.

”Clear up a misunderstanding?” Amusement flickered in Lu Yuan’s eyes. ”That sounds interesting. Have them come in, then.”

If he were in his previous life, he would shower Zhou Yunqiong with attention, but his experience taught him she was a greatly ambitious woman with deep schemes.

Furthermore, she had a terrifying bloodline and was destined to become a powerhouse.

After learning of her connection to the Ji Clan from Jiang Ningxian, Lu Yuan felt like he had yet to fully understand her, and his curiosity was piqued. He wanted to know her true goal.

”All right.” Zhu Qingyu nodded and left. Lu Yuan made his way to the courtyard to wait for the visitors. The courtyard was large enough to handle any potential incidents.

Soon, two figures appeared—Uncle Zuo and Winged Celestial God.

Uncle Zuo stepped forward with a slight bow and greeted, ”King Lu.”

He was exceedingly courteous, sounding respectful.

Zhou Yunqiong’s instructions were part of the reason why, but he also knew Lu Yuan’s strength far exceeded his own. In other words, it was only right for him to be humble before Lu Yuan.

Winged Celestial God, however, maintained his arrogant demeanor. His eyes remained cold and distant, clearly showing that he had not come here of his own volition. Lu Yuan said nothing, simply staring at them in silence.

”King Lu, I’m here on my young miss’ orders to apologize for what had occurred at Mount Li. What had happened at the time has been weighing heavily on her heart, but she has been too busy these days and has just found the time to deal with this matter,” Uncle Zuo said with a smile.

”She sent me here to apologize on her behalf, along with Winged Celestial God. She hopes to obtain your forgiveness.”

He produced a box containing three spiritual fruits. They exuded lights born from the incomparably pure energy inside them. They were mere fruits, but they were on the same level as divine artifacts.

Of course, they couldn’t be compared to treasures like the Bodhi Tree. The fact that Zhou Yunqiong had offered three of them at once as gifts... it showed that she was truly sincere.

”Actually, there’s no misunderstanding between her and me. She didn’t have to do this,” Lu Yuan replied. When he saw the three spiritual fruits, he understood what was going on.

Having learned of his formidable strength, Zhou Yunqiong now considered him valuable enough to lower herself and attempt to mend their relationship.

It was a bit too obvious, though. This wasn’t really Zhou Yunqiong’s style, but when he thought about it some more, it made sense. In her eyes, his rise had been far too rapid, exceeding her expectations by a great margin.

In the end, she was left with no choice but to act this way.

Of course, Lu Yuan couldn’t care less.

”Whether King Lu believes there’s a misunderstanding or not isn’t the point.” Uncle Zuo added, ”The point is that the young miss truly wants to obtain your forgiveness, and she truly hopes that you’ll accept her apology.”

As far as he was concerned, handing over the gifts would complete his task, so he maintained his composure and pushed forward.

”I understand what she means.” Lu Yuan rose to his feet. Now that he knew her goal, he had no desire to drag this out. ”Please convey to her that I bear no resentment toward her whatsoever. Whatever relationship we once had is in the past. It doesn’t need any mending.”

His words were clear enough. They would go their separate ways, each walking their own path. There was no need to remain entangled with each other.

In truth, Lu Yuan had never considered having any kind of relationship with Zhou Yunqiong. Her schemes ran too deep, and it was best to avoid contact with her. Of course, if she insisted on provoking him, he had nothing to fear.

Uncle Zuo was shrewd enough to instantly understand what Lu Yuan was trying to say, and he frowned deeply upon realizing it.

Winged Celestial God could no longer contain himself. He stepped forward with narrowed eyes and said, ”Lu Yuan, Yunqiong instructed me to come here and face you myself. I believe I’ve given you enough respect.

”You’d better accept her apology, or you’ll regret it!”

He was forced to come here, as he had no choice but to heed Zhou Yunqiong’s words. In the face of Lu Yuan, however, Winged Celestial God simply couldn’t bring himself to swallow his pride.

Why was he the one to apologize? Why was this man constantly overshadowing him?

He had been nursing a grudge against Lu Yuan. Even though Zhou Yunqiong had instructed him beforehand to say nothing, his arrogant nature wouldn’t allow him to endure any longer.

The bloodline of the Celestial Race ran through him. And what about Lu Yuan? He had nothing! He was just an ordinary human being. Despite that, the world gave Lu Yuan the titles ”Peerless Under Heaven” and ”Strongest Expert.”

Winged Celestial God’s pride was thoroughly crushed.

”Sir Yi!” Uncle Zuo exclaimed, trying to stop him from saying more. Then, he turned to Lu Yuan with a bow. ”Please don’t take his words to heart, King Lu. Since you’ve already made up your mind, I won’t disturb you any further.

”Sir Yi, let’s go. You’re not King Lu’s match right now.”

With that, he turned around to lead Winged Celestial God away, but his words sounded strange.

Sure enough, Winged Celestial God’s face contorted with rage.

”I’m not his match right now, but I am a descendant of the Celestials! Their blood runs through me!” Winged Celestial God roared, erupting in fury.

Then, his cold gaze settled on Lu Yuan. ”Today, you’ll accept her apology whether you want to or not. Otherwise, you’re going to regret it once my people are here!”

His greatest source of confidence was his clansmen, who would soon descend from the Outer Cosmos. Furthermore, the Celestials were a great clan renowned for their prowess in battle.

Winged Celestial God had come here in person, yet Lu Yuan still disrespected him. He truly couldn’t tolerate it any longer.

Since the beginning of the New Era, Winged Celestial God had always been the center of attention. The fact that Lu Yuan had been suppressing him at every turn had long filled him with much resentment.

Uncle Zuo’s face changed, but for some reason, he made no move to intervene.

Lu Yuan’s expression remained calm as he slowly stood up. ”I remember you expressed your willingness to kill me more than once at Mount Tai.”

”So what if I did?” Winged Celestial God stepped forward, his eyes sharp as blades. ”I’m not your match right now, but no matter how strong you are, you’re still just one person—”

Boom!

Lu Yuan suddenly stepped forward, interrupting Winged Celestial God by unleashing waves of golden vital qi that erupted as if Lu Yuan were an active volcano.

An overwhelming wave of aura swept across Winged Celestial God, forcing him to retreat before he could even do anything. The gap between them was simply too vast. Lu Yuan’s aura alone had blasted him away.

”Ahhh!” Winged Celestial God roared, and a burst of light erupted from him, enveloping him. His black hair turned silver, and his figure grew taller. A pair of white wings emerged from his back.

Crackle!

Arcs of electricity materialized around him with a single beat of his wings. He looked formidable, as if his power was out of this world.

This was the true form of the Celestials. In this state, Winged Celestial God’s strength would be multiplied several times over. He was at the Unfettered Realm, but in his true form, he could fight a Golden Body Realm Awakened.

Without hesitation, Winged Celestial God rushed at Lu Yuan. His wings beat rapidly, gathering strength amidst a chorus of rumbling noises and the shrill cries of the air itself.

Outside, the commotion attracted the attention of Elder Ji, Elder Yun, and Zhu Qingyu. Seeing Winged Celestial God attack Lu Yuan, they were momentarily alarmed, but they didn’t intervene. There was no need to do so.

Jiang Ningxian also appeared, staring at the sight with interest in her eyes.

”The bloodline of the Celestials? It’s passable, but not exceptional. A bit too weak compared to those from the main line.”

Crackle!

Within the courtyard, arcs of lightning crackled and flashed. The display of tremendous power ought to be enough to destroy the entire building, but Lu Yuan stood there like an immovable pillar with golden vital qi swirling around him.

He was completely suppressing every ounce of power Winged Celestial God was unleashing before him.

He took a step forward, and his heart pounded with force.

Swoosh!

A wave of overwhelming aura swept across everyone, boring down on them.

Winged Celestial God trembled uncontrollably. Moments later, his prided physique split open, and blood seeped out of it. Due to the unique nature of his bloodline, his injuries weren’t severe. After all, he wasn’t truly human.

However, this was only the beginning.

Lu Yuan clenched his right fist, and vital qi converged on it.

Winged Celestial God felt like Death himself was staring at him. ”I dare you to kill me! I’m a Celestial! The Celestials are a great clan from beyond this world, and they’ll be here soon! The Celestials will never forgive you if you kill me! No, it’s not just you! E-Everyone connected to you will pay the price!”

Panic crept into his voice, but he maintained some composure and even made use of the so-called Celestials to intimidate Lu Yuan.

He had heard countless times about just how powerful his clan was. From what he had heard, any random member of the Celestials was a true powerhouse.

However, Lu Yuan felt nothing upon hearing him.

He drew a bit of power from the Great Sun’s Furnace and threw a casual punch.

Boom!

Winged Celestial God was obliterated. He exploded into a gore of mist, but even that was obliterated into nothingness.

One of the Five Supremes, Winged Celestial God, was literally vaporized by a single punch, leaving nothing behind.

”Great, but my courtyard almost got dirty,” Lu Yuan muttered. He looked around, inspecting whether anything nearby had been soiled. He looked as if killing Winged Celestial God meant nothing to him whatsoever.

Everyone present was rendered speechless. Elder Ji, Elder Yun, and the others remained where they stood. By now, whatever Lu Yuan would do, they would support it. Besides, the other party had provoked him first.

Uncle Zuo quietly closed his eyes and took deep breaths to calm himself down.

”King Lu, may you tell me why you’re unwilling to set aside past grievances with my young miss? With your strength combined with her resources and the Zhou Family’s foundations, you’re bound to achieve great things in the future.”

Instead of dwelling on Winged Celestial God’s death, he decided to ask a question. Everyone found it strange. Winged Celestial God was supposed to be one of the Wuzhou Group’s most valuable Awakened, so how come his death felt like it was nothing special?

Lu Yuan turned and said, ”It’s not that I’m unwilling. I just don’t want to do it.”

”I understand.” Uncle Zuo bowed slightly. Then, he left without looking back.

”Wait,” Lu Yuan said, stopping Uncle Zuo in his tracks. ”Tell Zhou Yunqiong to stop entertaining any thoughts about me. Otherwise, I’ll visit the Wuzhou Group and the Zhou Family myself.”
