System Came When the Doctor was Thirty

”Professor Xue is China Rail’s tool man, and Zhang Boyuan is Xiao Tie’s tool man.”

”Right?”

Xue Yunfei just chuckled foolishly, becoming a real tool man: ”Hmm, hmm, hmm...”

Lu Cheng was offering too much, he couldn’t refuse at all.

Moreover, using this to test the doctors in hepatobiliary surgery is really not very kind...

Lu Cheng continued, ”Teacher, I don’t mean to have you cover my shifts, but rather... I’ll stay with you during your shifts.”

”You can take turns resting, but I will not take any breaks.”

”If there’s no suitable operation for me, I’ll advance the theory. If you need me, I’ll go to the clinic.”

”After all, we can indeed be very busy, and we all have to learn to relax amidst the busyness.”

Chen Song waved his hand again: ”No worries, no worries, your work is more important, there are so many patients who need you.”

”You should rest more!!”

”For the low-level work, us old and middle-aged folks will try to do more.”

Dai Linfang suggested at this point: ”Lu Cheng, can’t you just drop the limb preservation surgery for the damaged injuries?”

Lu Cheng looked at Dai Linfang as if looking at an idiot: ”Limb preservation surgery for damaged injuries and functional reconstruction skill are natural tools for practicing digestive and immune functional reconstruction skill.”

”You want to throw away such a tool?”

”Dai Linfang, if you don’t even have that kind of mind, don’t say you know me.”

”Were you born with functional reconstruction skill? Then why are you doing research projects with me? You should lead a team...”

Dai Linfang was dumbfounded and slapped himself twice.

It was only then he realized how deep and ingenious Lu Cheng’s arrangement really was.

In fact, Lu Cheng was not just doing limb preservation surgery for the sake of it, but to work on functional reconstruction skill.

Limb functional reconstruction skill is just the preliminary research of digestive functional reconstruction skill!!!

No surgical technique comes completely out of nowhere, completely unfounded.

Clinical surgical techniques are not some groundless conjecture where you can just whimsically imagine away.

The cost of verifying or falsifying is nothing more than a sheet of paper and time.

...

When going out, Lu Cheng’s phone rang.

Seeing it was a call from Professor Xie Xiao, Lu Cheng apologized: ”Teacher, Professor Xue, I need to take a call...”

Chen Song was arranging the clinical team, planning to distribute the existing personnel based on current capabilities.

Trying to make full use of each patient received in the clinic, collect data as soon as possible, take the quickest path to success.

There’s profit to be made, a path to follow.

Associate Professor Xue Yunfei was even more enthusiastic than Chen Song imagined, directly turning into a diligent worker...

Chen Song: ”Are you treating us to dinner tomorrow?”

Xue Yunfei: ”Sure, sure.”

Chen Song: ”Are you treating everyone to a bath tomorrow?”

Xue Yunfei: ”Okay, okay...”

After answering, Xue Yunfei realized that Chen Song was playing with him.

Shakes head: ”That won’t do...”

Everyone knows what it means to treat someone to a bath.

...

”Teacher Xie, good noon.” Lu Cheng answered the call and headed to the nearest fire escape.

Xie Xiao: ”Xiao Lu, you seem to be in a good mood?”

”Not bad, thanks to the kindness of Professor Xie and all the teachers at Union Hospital, I can relax a bit.”

”And a big thanks to all the teachers for their generosity, which allows me to jump around a bit.”

Xie Xiao casually laughed: ”I have something serious to talk to you about today, can you free up some time recently?”

”Our department received a visit letter.”

”From Japan.”

Hearing this, Lu Cheng slightly frowned: ”Professor Xie, it’s not about our hospital’s tendon suturing technique, is it?”

Lu Cheng’s tendon suturing technique project was brought back to Union Hospital by Xie Yuan’an.

”That’s exactly it; although we’re the communication unit, Professor Tajima’s team insists that we stole their technique and wants to get to the bottom of it.”

”Secondly, they want to have a private exchange with us.”

”After some consideration, we still think it’s safer to have you come back to handle it.”

”The reason, you know.” Xie Xiao didn’t explain, but somehow did.

Competing with Japan, you must win!

Winning is the only option, losing is not allowed.

Lu Cheng said: ”Teacher Xie, whether it’s stolen or not, it’s crystal clear.”

”If they think otherwise, so be it. I don’t have time to argue with them. If they present papers and data, then I’ll be convinced naturally.”

”Why bother competing?”

Xie Xiao pondered for a moment and continued: ”Lu Cheng, if it were an ordinary matter, indeed, the priorities would lie with your work over there.”

”But this is somewhat more special in nature.”

”We must win if we can.”

Lu Cheng said: ”Teacher Xie, I definitely would’ve thought that way before, but now, I truly don’t think so anymore.”

”It’s unnecessary. Even if some of them, a few individuals, beat us, it doesn’t prove anything.”

”Besides, I’m confident that, on average, we won’t lose.”

”The strengths and weaknesses of the technique are predetermined; individual performance doesn’t affect the technique’s quality.”

”That’s the result of experiments.”

”They are still stuck in the past, while we’re moving forward.”

Compete with them?

No money, no skill points, Lu Cheng isn’t interested in such rivalries.

Everything that should be done, Lu Cheng has already done.

If Lu Cheng were fixated on proving himself better than them, it would be delusional.

Lu Cheng has already provided evidence; if they don’t believe, must he waste time beating them into submission?

Wake up, right?

Today it’s Japan’s Hand Surgery, tomorrow it’s Japan’s Hepatobiliary Surgery.

The day after it’s some other country’s whatever department...

Lu Cheng might as well just compete full-time instead of being a doctor.

”If Professor Tajima’s team has indeed improved the suturing technique again and proven it better than our team’s, that’s advancement in the medical field.”

”We’ll just strive to catch up again.”

”That’s how I think about it.” Lu Cheng replied calmly.

There’s always winning and losing, it’s normal.

Lu Cheng doesn’t think that the technique he pioneered is perfect, untouchable forever.

It’s impossible.

There’s a difference between those who enjoy the martial art itself and those who enjoy competing for first place.

Xie Xiao pondered for a while and slowly nodded: ”Alright, since you have your own ideas and decisions, I won’t persuade you any further.”

”Last time, you didn’t go to the national competition for microsurgery, and now you won’t come to this exchange either.”

”I really underestimated you.”

”Perhaps, only with your pure heart, can one achieve such success...”

Lu Cheng laughed and said: ”Professor Xie, you’re overpraising, it’s all thanks to the teachers’ love and support.”

”By the way, Professor Xie, there’s something I’d like to tell you.”

Xie Xiao: ”Go ahead...”

Ten minutes later.

Xie Xiao started cursing in dialect: ”I swear at your family’s immortal ancestors...”

”Why couldn’t you have said earlier? Couldn’t you have mentioned this a few days ago?”

”I have to come there now...”

Lu Cheng calmly replied: ”Professor Xie, this is already as soon as possible. Wasn’t I bragging and talking nonsense to you a few days ago?”

”Once or twice is fine, but doing it often makes it the boy who cried wolf, right?”

”If you don’t want to, just pretend I didn’t say anything.”

Xie Xiao switched to Mandarin: ”No, actually I am quite happy to come.”

”Isn’t it hard to manage the hand surgery folks?”

”Alright!~ I’m coming.”

As one of the old foxes, Xie Xiao quickly understood what Lu Cheng meant.

Lu Cheng felt a bit embarrassed but admitted frankly: ”That’s part of it, but the main purpose is to report to you, Professor Xie.”

”After all, we’re part of the same research group.”

Xie Xiao switched to dialect: ”You’re incredibly bold!”

”Given a pole to heaven, you’d push it!”

”Fine then, I’ll come!~”

”Can I not come?”

The call ended there, and Lu Cheng let out a slow breath, finally calming down.

With Professor Xie Xiao coming to oversee, Lu Cheng had no fear of any major surprises from the hand surgery folks.

What their current attitude towards him is, Lu Cheng doesn’t mind.

But what Lu Cheng needs is for them not to cause trouble in the future, that is the bottom line!~

This is an unbreakable bottom line.
