System Came When the Doctor was Thirty

In the future, if it comes up in discussion, Lu Cheng might casually mention the truth of those years, saying he ranked first in the written exam but still couldn’t get into Huashan, which could become a charming anecdote in a small circle.

If, in the future, Lu Cheng mentions this past event during an interview, it would add to the ’myth’ of Huashan Hospital!

To have the qualification to connect with the top domestic medical scholars means you must be quite prominent, and no one wants to be in an awkward spot.

So, they find ways to make amends.

It’s not to say that because of this issue, Huashan Hospital can’t operate anymore, or that the orthopedics department is disgraced and can’t show its face.

It’s merely that the reputation would suffer, that’s all.

”So, you’re saying that currently Huashan Hospital wants to change the past announcements and internal system to forcibly include you?” Even though Mu Nanshu says she’s dumb.

Truthfully, she’s not dumb at all.

Lu Cheng doesn’t play word games with Mu Nanshu: ”My alma mater, Han City University, has already made a statement, and I think that’s pretty good too...”

”It’s just about the degree, it’s the same wherever you get it from.”

”Just icing on the cake, that’s all.”

”Now it’s fine; I won’t have a complex about my educational background in front of you anymore.”

Lu Cheng opened his eyes and placed his hand gently on Mu Nanshu’s abdomen, feeling its soft and elastic texture.

Mu Nanshu had abs.

Mu Nanshu laughed: ”Did you ever feel inferior about your educational background in front of me?”

”Occasionally, it’s a regret of sorts,” Lu Cheng replied.

Mu Nanshu soon frowned: ”Won’t it be disadvantageous to you if they operate like this?”

”After all, it’s an irregular procedure...”

”Whether or not it’s granted, eventually it will be given.”

”I’m in no rush anyway.”

”My current practical level won’t improve by adding another doctorate, nor do I need it to boost myself.”

”Those who understand will understand.”

”If it’s handled poorly, I won’t agree to it; the initiative is with me.”

”But if it’s done well, I don’t see anything wrong with it.”

”Aren’t there academicians who later supplement their doctorates?”

This isn’t something unique to Lu Cheng, so it’s not a big deal.

The papers Lu Cheng has published now, the original techniques, have long surpassed the master’s and doctoral levels.

Doing this is just to make the resume look a bit better!~

It doesn’t relate to anything else.

If the higher-ups don’t approve and someone tries to make things difficult, Lu Cheng will continue to publish papers under the undergraduate title for now.

Journals don’t reject your papers just because you’re an undergraduate.

Patients won’t receive less effective treatment because you’re only an undergraduate!

Improving academic qualifications and learning from teachers is the best way for medical students, as it enhances your skills.

Lu Cheng didn’t reach this point simply through effort; his skill set is invincible.

This was something Lu Cheng had foreseen.

”Oh, I’m just worried that if you’re exposed, it might not be necessary.”

”Education can be improved, but procedures must be followed correctly.”

”As you go further in education now, it’s just about having your name on the list; you wouldn’t even need to attend the school.”

”Just attend the thesis defense when you graduate.” Mu Nanshu was quite familiar with these things.

Seeking education and supplementing education are two different matters.

The essence of supplementing education is that, at the moment of the defense, you stand before the defense committee.

When not defending, you and I are on the same level; perhaps when you meet me, you should be a little more polite and respectful to me.

That’s the idea.

”Is your current operation truly so incredible?” Mu Nanshu grew curious.

Recently, Lu Cheng didn’t seem to have gone through anything special; he merely mentioned a slight breakthrough in his basic skills.

And then, there was this strange phenomenon.

”Below the level of the inexplicable, it’s all about playing with techniques, seeking techniques.”

”At the current level, wherever I look, I see the essence of medicine.”

”The essence of medicine is healthcare, it’s patients, it’s bringing wellbeing to patients.”

”Focusing on this path alone, everything else is embellishment.”

Lu Cheng’s tone was gentle and relaxed: ”I can fully devote myself to this path, disregarding everything outside.”

”At least for now.”

One can’t completely detach from society, but fully dedicating oneself to a single task is also a form of fleeting happiness.

Mu Nanshu was surprised: ”This is indeed like achieving enlightenment and ascending soaringly.”

Though Lu Cheng was her husband, she still found these experiences somewhat mystical.

Even those with strong connections wouldn’t dare to play like this!

Directly rectifying past announcements and putting Lu Cheng into the system, delaying the defense, thus toying with the degree ”at the palm of the hand.”

Those who can play this game won’t take this risk.

Those who can leisurely play this game truly don’t need the degree to ornament themselves.

”I suppose so...”

”You could say teaching hospitals have many rules, but don’t doubt their insights and foundational teachings.”

”Basic skills, fundamental disciplines, are the way.”

”Basic experiments, basic theories, are also the way!!!”

”These things, their only flaw is their difficulty.” Lu Cheng had also benefited from this.

And he better understood why teaching hospitals and top universities prioritized foundational disciplines.

Once these things reach an incredible level, they can truly elevate a person swiftly.

Even, once disciplines like mathematics and physics ascend, they can instantly elevate national power.

This isn’t a joke!

Fundamental breakthroughs allow for absolute class leapfrogging, ignoring everything else!

No technique, no surgical skill, no surgical operation can match fundamental skills; they’re all just flowery moves.

Because, when basic skills reach a certain level, techniques are everywhere; everything is skill, and what you do at will might be others’ benchmarks, their guidelines.

You can freely explore, modify guidelines!

You can also create surgeries!

You can identify errors in current surgical practices, find more advantageous directions; in the process, you can rely on your basic skills to ensure the fundamental efficacy for patients...

Therefore, you are free.

The lowest limit of what you do is better than most people’s limits; if you’re not impressive, then who is?

Moved by this, Mu Nanshu stood up: ”Why didn’t you tell me earlier?”

”Such good news.”

”Why don’t we go downstairs to buy some barbecue? And I’ll drink some with you?”

”Shall we celebrate together?”

Mu Nanshu’s voice was excited, her eyes sparkling.

”How about no alcohol?”

”Bubble tea is good enough.”

”I wasn’t trying to hide it from you; I just found out myself.”

”Professor Lu Mang from Kyoto just called to inform me about this.”

”This arrangement affects nothing, and I can still go about my business, only the things I desire have been arranged.”

”Oh, by the way, Professor Lu said that the Medical Science Institute would send a letter to our Provincial Health and Health Commission to mention my title and such.”

”Professor Lu will come to Ji City in a few days, too.”

Mu Nanshu got up, put on her coat, and said: ”Then you have to host him, right?”

”Or maybe not, just let it be, don’t care...” Lu Cheng suddenly said.

Mu Nanshu was taken aback: ”Don’t joke like that!”

Of course, Lu Cheng was joking...

Mu Nanshu went out to buy bubble tea and barbecue, Lu Cheng didn’t accompany her.

Bubble tea could be ordered online, and the barbecue was just downstairs in the neighborhood, posing no danger.

Sitting on the sofa.

Lu Cheng stared at his panel.

[Wound Cleaning Skill (Ruyi 0/3000)]

Lu Cheng kept clicking his tongue: ”It can actually improve further. The Realm of Ruyi has led to the current Realm of the Inexplicable, so won’t the next level...”

”Mean truly ascending to godhood?”

Lu Cheng found it hard to understand what the next level truly looked like but couldn’t help anticipating it.

His techniques, while achieving patient recovery, simultaneously advanced his own achievements.

As a person, one must never forget one’s roots.

Healing patients, passing on techniques.

That is my career path, as Lu Cheng.

Live well, live richly.

That is my personal pursuit, as Lu Cheng.
