System Came When the Doctor was Thirty

The light from the white round ceiling lamp in the living room is soft, and the window is half-open!

When the door was opened, a cool breeze blew in.

”Not too drunk, are you?” Mu Nanshu asked gently.

”I always know my limits. It wasn’t a local get-together, so you don’t have to worry about me getting wasted.”

Lu Cheng shook his head, ”If it were those old buddies from the Long County People’s Hospital, I’d be done for today.”

Lu Cheng’s alcohol tolerance isn’t considered high in Xiangzhou.

Definitely not better than some heavy drinkers.

But in fact, in the surgical field, there are many who enjoy drinking, yet not many who can really hold their liquor.

It’s just a bad habit picked up from being too tired and busy in their free time.

After speaking, Lu Cheng made a hush gesture: ”Good evening, Dr. Cao.”

Mu Nanshu helped Lu Cheng put away his shoes, then walked alongside him towards the sofa.

Lu Cheng turned on his phone’s speaker: ”It’s Xiao Lu, the call got through.”

”Xiao Lu, why are you being so polite?”

Lu Cheng said, ”Teacher Cao, it’s me, Lu Cheng.”

”It’s so late, Teacher Cao, you’re not resting yet?”

Lu Cheng didn’t have a good impression of Cao Qiheng, so he was reluctant to engage.

Being overly polite doesn’t hurt.

When facing unfamiliar people, Lu Cheng can be as distant as an iceberg, making it hard for people to get close.

”Lu Cheng, I have good news for you.”

”A teacher from my department just called, saying they want to correct a program for Xiao Lu,” Cao Qiheng said.

”The decision was just made at seven this evening, and I wanted to deliver this good news to you as soon as possible.”

Mu Nanshu looked surprised; obviously, she didn’t quite understand what this program correction meant.

Lu Cheng also pretended not to understand: ”Teacher Cao, I don’t get it.”

Cao Qiheng then said, ”Lu Cheng, let’s not beat around the bush between us brothers.”

”Previously, when you came for a re-exam at our hospital, some small mistakes were made, leading to an error in the grade entry.”

”We only discovered it during a recent internal review in our orthopedics department!”

”Hey, that doesn’t make sense...”

Lu Cheng interrupted with a chuckle, ”Teacher Cao, just discovered it?”

”I’m turning thirty-one this year!”

Lu Cheng’s words might have left Cao Qiheng speechless.

This year, how many years have passed since Lu Cheng took the postgraduate exam?

Mu Nanshu retook her master’s and doctorate exams and worked a year after graduating late.

When I was six, I wanted a bicycle, but you didn’t buy it for me.

Now I’m sixty, and you buy me a tricycle. What’s the point?

More importantly, the things you thought of, I already obtained!

Cao Qiheng said, ”Lu Cheng, I know you’re upset, feeling that, you know.”

”But in reality?”

”If it had gone through the normal procedure, you wouldn’t have passed the re-exam back then. That’s the objective fact.” Cao Qiheng perhaps also felt a bit low.

Lu Cheng said, ”I didn’t say anything!~”

”I accepted the result, didn’t I say anything?”

”Did I not accept this result?”

”Except for a quarrel and some harsh words at the time, what else did I do?”

”Did I go to report it?”

”Did I expose anything?”

”Didn’t I spend almost ten years coming to terms with this?”

”I didn’t say your procedure had issues, did I?”

”Why are you telling me this?”

Having drunk, Lu Cheng just vented directly!

”Xiao Lu, calm down, hear me out; this is beneficial to you.”

”The teachers in our department said that given your current capability is quite good, your own academic qualifications will greatly limit you in the future.”

”So, we can handle this privately.”

”Re-admitting you into a master’s and doctorate continuous study system, treating it as if you graduated late, and as long as you complete your defense this year, go through the process, you’ll get a graduation certificate...”

”Of course, the teachers in the department also said that if Xiao Lu, you’re willing, you can get all the talent introduction policies available.”

”I think it’s a good thing...”

Lu Cheng said, ”Teacher Cao, do you think what you can come up with, others can’t think of?”

”Haha...”

Hearing this, Cao Qiheng fell silent.

”Anyway, personally, I think it’s a heartfelt gesture.”

Lu Cheng said, ”I understand, Teacher Cao, this is your kind intention.”

”I’m just an exception, the hospital, the school, willing to open a convenient path for me is also good for me.”

”But sorry, I can choose where to get my certificate myself, so I won’t trouble you anymore, Teacher Cao.”

”It’s getting late too, you should rest early!~”

”I’ll also rest a bit.”

”Hey...” Just as Cao Qiheng wanted to say something, Lu Cheng hung up the phone directly.

Sitting on the sofa, hearing no further calls from Cao Qiheng.

Lu Cheng hugged Mu Nanshu, resting his chin on her shoulder, breathing softly.

Mu Nanshu smelled the liquor and instinctively frowned.

But now Lu Cheng actually drinks very little; in recent events, if Lu Cheng doesn’t host, that would be inappropriate.

She also understood this kind of social interaction: ”What was that call just about?”

”What continuous master and doctorate study?”

Lu Cheng squinted, mumbling: ”It’s like if you can win a Nobel Prize outside, back at home, they arrange a professor overnight for you to ride on their back.”

”And arrange a doctoral advisor to ride with you.”

In private, Lu Cheng slightly exaggerated his words.

Lu Cheng’s current level surely cannot win a Nobel.

However, reaching a national master level in fundamental skills is recognized by the industry as true capability, truly one of the great paths.

Huashan Hospital actually seeks nothing but fame.
