Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Unexpectedly for Princess Eena, Hero Lux agreed to her invitation to go to the seaside with her.

Walking through the deserted streets, the twinkling star sky cast a faint light, and the night sea breeze moved the masts of the ships, making creaking sounds.

Princess Eena, in a beautiful dress, accompanied Lux and talked about the various adventures with Vorquis.

Lux did not say any words, but according to Princess Eena’s request, walked with her to the dock.

”... It has been exactly three years.

In these three years, I have also undergone many changes.

Before, I definitely couldn’t have gone to such lengths for a companion.

But...

Looking back, Vorquis, you were already very far away from me.

I know I was wrong.

Because of occasional jealousy, I may have inadvertently exposed my true nature to you many times.

You must have noticed I’m a bad woman, and that’s why you deliberately avoided me.

It wasn’t until I was estranged that I fully realized the feelings in my heart.”

Princess Eena clutched at the dress on her chest, tears uncontrollably streaming from her eyes, with starlight upon her, accentuating a different sense of beauty and melancholy,

”I’ve been trying to salvage the relationship between us two.

To bid farewell to my immature past self completely.

But I don’t know since when, Vorquis, you haven’t looked at me even once...

No matter what I do, you just won’t look at me!

What on earth should I do to win back your heart?

Although I don’t know what’s on your mind, Vorquis, I know the forthcoming actions must be fraught with dangers, undoubtedly incredibly busy; I certainly won’t have the time to express my true feelings to you.

This might be the last chance; I don’t want to have any regrets in the future.

Therefore, I chose such an untimely moment.

Vorquis, maybe you have someone in your heart.

But seeing as we have been fighting together for so long, could you leave me with the most beautiful memory?”

Princess Eena forced a brave smile, slowly lifting her lips.

Unexpectedly for Princess Eena... the Hero did not look at her at all, instead quietly gazing at the reflection of the starry sea surface.

”Vorquis...”

Princess Eena called out the hero’s name with a tinge of sob in her voice, but the hero remained unmoved, still staring fixedly at the sea, as if everything on the other side was crystal clear to him.

Wiping the tears from the corners of her eyes, the cuff of Princess Eena’s sleeve slipped out two bottles of Potion, and she gently flicked her arm, tossing them into the sea.

The fragile expression vanished in an instant, Princess Eena squinted slightly, transforming from a delicate maiden into a scheming woman:

”Truly unmoved.

No matter how much one’s character changes, it couldn’t be this drastic, right?

Honored Hero, you are not Heroic Warrior Volcrix.

Right?”

Upon hearing this, Hero Lux slowly moved his gaze away from the sea, seemingly unperturbed:

”Eventually, it got seen through.”

”What exactly is your purpose?” Princess Eena squinted her eyes almost to a slit, scrutinizing the young man in front of her from head to toe, ”Judging from appearances, there is no difference between you and the real Heroic Warrior Volcrix. What method did you use?”

Hero Lux remained expressionless, countering: ”What do you think?”

”I cannot guess; this is a shocking matter, who would expect the hero making waves now to be an impostor?” Princess Eena folded her arms, ”But you needn’t worry, I won’t casually divulge this secret. You truly possess the strength to defeat the Demon King, thereby making things simple.

How about we make a deal?

I will continue to assist you in defeating the Demon King, but you have to make me your nominal wife.

After defeating the Demon King and marrying me, whoever you want to become or whatsoever you wish to pursue, I will support you fully, even indulge you, and possibly aid you to a certain extent.”

”What if I refuse?” Hero Lux asked.

”Refuse?

You should know what the consequences would be; without our help, you’re likely unable to defeat the Demon King.

Besides, you should be happy to unite with a beautiful girl like me.

As long as you can agree with me, tonight, I will be yours to dispose of how you please.

The same goes for the future.”

Princess Eena declared resolutely,

”Moreover, whether you truly are the hero now or not, once you have defeated the Demon King, you will certainly become a true hero.

I don’t know where you have taken Volcrix to, nor what you have turned him into.

But since you’re bearing the title of the hero, there must be something you desire.

I’m just putting the icing on the cake.”

Princess Eena tried her best not to appear nervous, letting herself be composed.

This was a gamble.

Since Volcrix detested her, avoiding excessive contact with her, betting on this person replacing Hero Volcrix might not be bad.

Though his specific identity is unknown, seeing that he still fulfills the hero’s duties so far, his goal should be to defeat the Demon King.

He was ruthless against the Demon Clan, seems to have some deep hatred with them...

Perhaps he is from the Village of Heroes, and the Demon Clan participated in the plan to annihilate the Village of Heroes, where Volcrix died in battle and passed his strength to him, thus he desperately opposes the Demon Clan, wanting to complete the hero’s mission as well as avenge his clan.

Princess Eena kept her voice low, ”persuasively” guiding the hero, accepting her was not harmful.

If the negotiation fails, Princess Eena has prepared a retreat plan for herself in advance.

Not only is there a Magic Potion scattered towards the sea, but there is also a small ”gift” she left for Yixuan.

Thanks to Heroic Warrior Volcrix, she was forced to make good relations with the silly bird, who now was an excellent pawn.

”If the news that the hero is an impostor leaks, surely people like you will emerge.

There is one point that differs from what you said.

Even if you defeat the Demon King, an impostor hero will never become a real hero.

This world is unfair.

Therefore, I thoroughly destroyed them; this is my revenge, and it’s the price they must pay for daring to tamper with history.”

Vorquis sighed deeply, and a golden light swept across the sea surface.

Princess Eena vaguely felt something amiss.

Numerous pieces of information flashed through her mind; she was not like the other two in Vorquis’s team, as she was very clever, proficient in various schemes:

”Could it be... you were the one who destroyed the Village of Heroes!”

Princess Eena instantly felt the sky spinning and the image of Lux whirling in her eyes.

The next moment, Princess Eena suddenly realized this was no illusion, but physical rotation.

However, the one spinning isn’t the hero, but...

With a ”splash,” something fell into the water.

Hero Lux casually adjusted the position of the Holy Sword, looking up at the false star sky above.
