Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

The sea breeze gently caressed the coast as Hero Lox drew his sword blade from the body of the Demon Clan cadre.

”I am very sorry, Lord Demon King...”

Blood spurted from the wound, and the werewolf-form Demon Clan cadre, filled with resentment, fell to his knees.

The shattered town was filled with the broken corpses of the Demon Clan.

The demons guarding the city would never have imagined that Hero Lox possessed such strength.

Even though the gap in power was huge, the demons guarding the harbor still charged at the Hero without hesitation.

The result was predictable.

Wiping the Holy Sword clean of blood, Lox sheathed it.

Watching Lox from a distance, Vorquis’s partner couldn’t help but swallow nervously.

Princess Eena sensed something even more unusual.

Since the day the Hero communicated with someone via the crystal ball, his personality inexplicably grew somewhat colder.

This coldness also manifested in the battle.

In the past, when enemies knelt before them, surrendering sincerely, the Hero would always spare them, delivering them to the nearby army for custody.

But now, even when Lox clearly sensed an enemy’s willingness to surrender, he would wield the Holy Sword without hesitation, completely obliterating them.

”Vorquis is acting... completely unlike himself... What on earth has happened?”

Yixuan’s gaze was fixed on Lox in the distance,

”Indeed, something is amiss! Though I can’t quite articulate it, I feel there’s something off!”

Princess Eena and Tara both turned their gaze toward Yixuan, sharing that intuitive feeling, though they did not voice it like Yixuan did.

With a flap of her wings, Yixuan flew toward the Hero, landing slowly beside him.

Yixuan approached slowly, and suddenly, an arrow flew from a broken house.

Lox swiftly drew his sword blade, the sharp Sword Qi slicing through the house, completely annihilating the demon hiding underground.

Then, he extended his hand to unleash magic, saving Yixuan at the critical moment.

Saved once again, Yixuan’s suspicion of the Hero quickly faded:

”Sorry to trouble you again.

But... but...

I’ve been so worried, worried that Vorquis isn’t himself anymore.

Vorquis now seems cold, not warm like he used to be.”

Hero Lox put away the sword blade:

”I’m sorry.

I’ve worried you.

But to save this world, it’s something unavoidable.

We are making a direct cut into the Demon King’s line, aiming to determine the outcome with the Demon King.

Thus, we must board a ship and approach the Demon King City quickly, conducting a decapitation strike.

Our actions ensure we’ll be surrounded by layers of the Demon King Army, and soon, the Demon King’s soldiers will encircle this harbor.

Being ruthless is to prevent any unexpected incidents.

We must speed up.”

Hero Lox glanced back, speaking to Princess Eena and Tara behind him:

”Follow closely. We can’t afford any delays.”

Tara hesitated but quickly caught up to Lox, while Princess Eena remained in place, seemingly contemplating, before reluctantly stepping forward.

Coming to Lox’s side, Princess Eena tried to hide the unease in her eyes, but her mind was racing with thoughts of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

In the end, greed overcame fear.

”Vorquis, the day is getting late.

Sailing at night is extremely dangerous.

We’ve rushed here in one go... You must be exhausted.

Due to the sustained battles, we’re also a bit tired.

To avoid lagging behind in the voyage, I think we should rest here.

I know staying here is risky, but sailing in this status could mean a one-way trip.

Ordinary demons, seeing this devastation, wouldn’t dare advance rashly to explore the harbor...

If Vorquis still thinks it’s dangerous, I am willing to stand guard at night...

Trading one’s health for the safety of this journey.”

Princess Eena patted her chest, displaying a fearless demeanor.

Lox gently pressed his fingertips against his temple, and after a while, he spoke:

”You’re right.

Let’s take a rest for now.”

After saying this, Lox raised his face, revealing a friendly smile, and continued,

”This operation is fraught with dangers.

It’s unexpected that you all would stick by me.

My mind is solely on defeating the Demon King swiftly, and indeed, I have somewhat ignored your feelings.

Yixuan, see if there are any intact hotels nearby; let’s rest there for a while.

As for security work, I’ll create a barrier.”

Receiving Lox’s command, Yixuan eagerly flew into the sky, soon finding an untouched tavern.

Lox led Vorquis’s companions to stay in this tavern.

Princess Eena found a barrel of wine in the tavern’s kitchen, and she drank heartily with Tara and Yixuan without reservation.

Lox didn’t eat food or drink water alone as he usually did; instead, he briefly joined Vorquis’s companions for dinner.

After dinner, Princess Eena first sprayed on special perfume, then graciously handed over pastries to Yixuan and Tara.

To completely disillusion the foolish bird, Princess Eena secretly prepared an extra ”gift” in Yixuan’s pastries, instructing her to consume them at the agreed time.

Later, Princess Eena returned to her room, changed into a beautiful evening gown, sprayed another charming perfume, and headed toward the Hero’s room.

Ultimately, she had to employ the final means.

Though she was long prepared to sacrifice her purity, Princess Eena still wished for a slightly romantic moment when that sacrifice was made.

Princess Eena didn’t love the Hero, but for the sake of the country and her future, she had to offer herself.

After all, royal family marriages are not uncommon; if one must marry, one should marry the strongest.

Becoming the Hero’s wife would bring countless benefits that would outweigh her sacrifices.

Who the Hero is now doesn’t matter at all.

Gently placing a Magic Pill in her mouth, utterly prepared, Princess Eena knocked on the Hero’s door.

”Vorquis, sorry to disturb you at this time. I have some things I’d like to discuss with you. Could you accompany me to the seaside for a walk?”

Princess Eena’s mind already had multiple plans, and she was confident to handle any situation.

The best plan now was to take a walk by the sea, letting the atmosphere naturally escalate.

Of course, this plan is quite difficult.

The natural escalation part isn’t a big issue; Princess Eena had in her mouth an M pill specifically for men. If she found the opportunity to slip it into the Hero’s mouth, all would be accomplished, but fulfilling the condition of walking by the sea was tough.

Princess Eena didn’t want any interruptions, but given the circumstances, she had no choice but to take the risk.
