Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

The orange sword blade had just pierced into Kai Bu’s side abdomen when countless ghostly hands clawed and reached out towards Yang Yu, intending to stuff him into the gaping mouth on Kai Bu’s side.

Fortunately, Yang Yu was using the [Dark Breaking Blade].

Some souls tried to grab Yang Yu’s sword, intending to hang him in mid-air and slowly pull him into the mouth.

But the moment these ghosts touched the [Dark Breaking Blade], it was as if they touched a piece of red-hot iron, instantly retracting their hands, not daring to target Yang Yu any further.

The [Dark Breaking Blade] cut a gash on Kai Bu’s side abdomen, allowing Yang Yu to land steadily.

Yang Yu looked up, and from the wound on Kai Bu’s side abdomen emerged countless spiritual bodies, intertwining with each other, and in no time, Kai Bu’s wound was fully healed.

Perhaps because of having devoured many spiritual bodies, Kai Bu’s attributes now rivaled the first-phase Green Fire Phoenix that Yang Yu and the others encountered in the [Will Hall], with blood volume unimaginably thick, and moreover...

Kai Bu’s blood volume had significantly decreased, but by absorbing some souls that weren’t completely exterminated, his blood volume recovered somewhat.

It’s hard not to think that Kai Bu would recover himself through consuming spiritual bodies within the black mist.

Running beneath Kai Bu, Yang Yu focused his continuous attacks on Kai Bu’s grounded limbs.

Since his body was composed of spiritual bodies, Kai Bu could perceive Yang Yu sneaking underneath him, even without using his eyes or ears.

However, Kai Bu chose to ignore Yang Yu and opened his massive jaws to bite at Lotcar.

Even though Lotcar was huge, he had become quite agile under Yang Yu’s guidance, deftly dodging Kai Bu’s massive jaws with a simple backward leap, leaving Kai Bu biting dirt.

Wielding his claws, Lotcar launched an attack on Kai Bu’s right forelimb, his sharp claws shredding Kai Bu’s writhing limbs and mouths in an instant.

Yet Kai Bu remained unmoved, countless cyan skulls leaping from his body and bombarding Lotcar from all directions.

With another backward leap to avoid the ghostly skulls, Lotcar swung his claws, obliterating all those pesky skulls.

Unfortunately, these massive skulls were made of countless tiny spiritual bodies; Lotcar’s claw attack only returned the skulls to their original form.

The green light swaying in the air transformed into ghosts one after another, rushing to bite at Lotcar’s neck.

The ghosts once again amalgamated, forming a ground-rooted chain in the blink of an eye, binding Lotcar completely.

”Got him!”

The chain restrained Lotcar, and Kai Bu, disregarding the slight prickling from his heel, instantly locked onto Lotcar’s neck, opening his gaping jaws.

Just then, a Light Arrow sliced through the sky, piercing directly into Kai Bu’s eye.

The unimaginable sting made Kai Bu emit a howl of pain.

One dazzling attack after another followed, striking continuously upon Kai Bu’s body.

To dark spirit bodies, Holy Light was like a deadly poison.

In an instant, as if countless flames leaped and burned upon Kai Bu’s body.

Kai Bu’s crimson eyes glanced at the not-far-away expeditionary team, which had started to operate at full capacity after losing the threat of the black mist; some sea-dwelling species had already mobilized, preparing to attack him.

”Don’t meddle! My target has always been one person! All of you coming to assist, go to hell.”

Howling skyward, the black tides, just retreating, surged once more towards the expeditionary team from all directions, various strange magic beasts materializing from the black mist, clawing towards Yang Yu’s expeditionary team.

With no choice, the expeditionary team had to pause their support, listening to the [Corpse Collection Coffin]’s suggestion, prioritizing handling the swarming magic beast spirit bodies.

They planned to handle the magic beast spirit bodies while simultaneously moving the entire team towards Yang Yu’s position to facilitate subsequent support.

Seizing the opportunity, Yang Yu returned to Lotcar’s side, the [Dark Breaking Blade] drawing a beautiful arc in the air, severing the chains of ghosts binding Lotcar.

Swiftly climbing onto Lotcar’s back, Yang Yu urged Lotcar towards the direction of the troop.

”You won’t get away!”

Kai Bu grinned malevolently, like a fierce deity, his long legs propelling him forward, leaving roaring ghosts in his wake and catching up to Lotcar in the blink of an eye.

A large number of skeleton spirit bodies separated from Kai Bu’s body, whistling in the air and twisting into sharp spurs.

Numerous ghosts wailed in pain, but Kai Bu turned a deaf ear, continuing his attack.

The twisted spurs of souls were projected in front of Lotcar’s path, weaving a fence that blocked Yang Yu and Lotcar’s way.

Countless black mist surged, dividing Yang Yu and Lotcar from the expeditionary team into two parts.

Anyone wanting to aid Lotcar would have to pass through the thick black mist, running the risk of being continuously attacked by spiritual bodies.

A multitude of skulls once more separated from Kai Bu’s body, twisted into bars, and encircled a huge circle alongside the previously fallen barrier in front of Yang Yu.

”Now, except for one stinking bug, no one can disturb us. This time, I must kill you, Lotcar!”

Kai Bu roared, pouncing once again at Lotcar.

With a swing of his sword blade, Yang Yu easily severed a section of the soul-woven barrier.

The gap left was just big enough for a burly adult man to pass through.

Kai Bu’s massive jaws once again lunged forward, as Lotcar’s magic power transformed into a white mist on his body.

Lotcar’s huge figure swiftly shrank back to his beastman form, and alongside Yang Yu, they easily slipped through the gap, while Kai Bu’s jaws only clamped onto the ghostly barrier.

To prevent Yang Yu from escaping, Kai Bu had reinforced the soul fences completely, and even he could only bend them with his bites, unable to break them cleanly.

Never did he expect Yang Yu’s sword to break through the soul fence so effortlessly.

Then again, what choice did he have, having spent most of his life holed up in his own village?

Those who’d heard of the [Heavenly Stone] were already few and far between; how could Kai Bu possibly know that Yang Yu’s sword was crafted from the [Heavenly Stone]?

He only felt that Yang Yu’s sword was special, never imagining it could be this exceptional.

The plan to imprison and kill Lotcar had failed, but Kai Bu wouldn’t give up the pursuit of Lotcar over such a trivial matter.

Opening his massive jaws wide, snapping them closed, Kai Bu chewed up the soul-made barrier, swallowing it to prepare for a new attack.

Despite being in a spirit form, and constantly maintaining his beast form with limited skills and moves available, Kai Bu believed that he had transformed significantly, enough to kill Lotcar with ordinary attacks.

Yet, just as Kai Bu stepped out of the barrier, another Light Arrow sliced through the darkness, hitting the center of his forehead unerringly, with the violent Holy Light exploding at his forehead, obliterating his head entirely.
