Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Yang Yu handed over a note, and a hint of confusion climbed onto Wang Wu Yidru’s face. He didn’t say anything or ask any questions, just carefully folded the note and tucked it into his pocket.

”I will carry out Mr. Yang Yu’s request. I will head back now and dispatch the personnel you need.”

Leaving Icaro Flo as the representative of the [Corpse Collection Coffin] with Yang Yu and the others, Wang Wu Yidru left the conference room ahead of them.

Watching Wang Wu Yidru leave, Yang Yu followed Ussiger and Simentora Guanglun, traversing the centuries-old, still splendid Old Palace, arriving at the training field.

The entire training field was enveloped by a special barrier.

From the outside, only a few people could be seen practicing in the training field, but in reality, a large number of Goddess Sect combat personnel and elite soldiers from the Tren Republic were stationed here, undergoing daily training while waiting for deployment.

Although many here are elite soldiers, their average level and average attributes are far lower than Yang Yu imagined.

The ones with slightly better attributes were only the officers training them.

Unfortunately...

The high-level combat forces of the Tren Republic are truly negligible in number.

The war between the Luo Ze Empire and Wansheng Country, due to the giant dragon’s rule restrictions, does not permit the appearance of individuals with war evaluation above S+, which is why many with S-Class war evaluation are serving as generals...

Even if the Tren Republic exhausts all efforts, they can barely gather a few individuals with war evaluation above S-Class to hold key positions.

Goddess Sect is much better, with many personnel having a war evaluation above S-Class, but most of them are people of status, apparent through their pride and arrogance.

The best way to deal with such prideful individuals is to drag them out for a beating to make them humble.

However, with time being tight, Yang Yu couldn’t spend time educating them one-on-one like he did with the Wansheng Country Army.

Fortunately, Yang Yu and his team are no longer who they used to be; if a few more beatings don’t work, they can try getting the job done in one go.

With a light cough, Yang Yu took out his loudspeaker, as he often did in the Wansheng Country Army, to conduct a pre-battle speech on the upcoming operation.

Yang Yu summarized the whole situation, explained the consequences of failure in this operation, fully stirred the emotions of every soldier and officer present, then assured them that the country and the church would not mistreat them, enticing individual capable officers to recommend themselves, thus smoothly commencing the selection process for the elite combat team.

The elite combat team has the task of commanding small units and jointly fighting against the Curse Sect’s officers. Selection is crucial; those without the necessary strength would be facing certain death against the Curse Sect’s officers.

Referring to the attributes of the Curse Sect’s officers they had encountered, Yang Yu set the minimum attribute standards for the elite combat team, first eliminating a portion.

The remaining individuals formed teams of four to ten freely and took turns challenging members of Yang Yu’s team, and Yang Yu decided on their uses based on their performance.

Yang Yu never hoped these temporarily assembled teams could defeat his teammates; he only hoped they could exert their full potential so that he could deploy and command them effectively.

For this reason, Yang Yu secretly told his comrades to go easy on them.

Yang Yu also considered the feelings of those disqualified due to insufficient strength.

Those previously eliminated, if unsatisfied and wanting to contribute against the Curse Sect, can challenge Yang Yu and his team following certain rules.

Before the selection began, Yang Yu repeatedly reminded everyone participating that if they couldn’t overcome their opponents in time or if they failed, they must concede gracefully and respect their opponents.

Participants didn’t know what Yang Yu’s intention was but still agreed to his request.

At the start of the selection, as Yang Yu had anticipated, some prideful individuals came solely with the aim of defeating Yang Yu and his team, trying to knock down the sharpness of their seemingly younger superior.

But as the selection proceeded, their arrogance slowly got worn down by the overwhelming strength of Yang Yu’s team.

Each of Yang Yu’s companions was handling their combined attacks with ease, making it difficult to find any weakness.

As the selection’s time came to an end, Yang Yu would send a signal for his comrades to dispatch the challengers effortlessly, fully showcasing their immense strength.

Each defeated person was left pounding their chests in silence, unable to believe the vast disparity between individuals.

Due to the excessively huge gap in power, indeed an insurmountable chasm, many no longer felt jealousy towards Yang Yu and his team but rather held them in high regard.

Time was of the essence, every minute and second could become a liability.

After selecting the elite combat troops with care, Yang Yu expanded the regular troops dedicated to dealing with the Curse Sect’s believers based on the elite forces’ recommendations.

Although appointed as the expeditionary team’s commander, Yang Yu did not monopolize power.

After all, the troops were gathered in a very rushed manner. Those who could manage them well were still their people.

After organizing the troops, Yang Yu took some suggestions, placing most personnel under their original commanders, and gradually merging friendly small units into a large force.

This maneuver gained Yang Yu quite a lot of favor from the troops.

After spending thirty minutes letting the expeditionary team, over a thousand strong, familiarize themselves with each other, Yang Yu seized the moment, leading the troops in a grand departure.

To respond immediately to the Curse Sect, both the Tren Republic and Goddess Sect had stored some troops near the towns adjacent to the mountain range housing the Curse Sect, to prevent the sect from suddenly acting, leaving no time to react.

After a distance of travel, Yang Yu led the troops through a teleportation array to the mountains near the Curse Sect’s hiding spot.

The soldiers in towns near the mountain range had long received orders and waited at the secret teleportation point for a while.

Yang Yu quickly accepted these soldiers, turning them into part of his army’s strength.

Using the crystal ball to send messages, Yang Yu summoned the scout who had always been monitoring the Curse Sect.

According to the scout’s report, everything in the mountain range was normal, with scarcely anyone appearing, nor any suspicious characters discovered in the nearby forests.

After briefly arranging the strategy and tactics, Yang Yu decided to first deploy an agile reconnaissance team to scout the area, while the main force followed closely behind, ready to launch a fierce attack on the Curse Sect’s lair at the first sign of any anomaly.

The reconnaissance team quickly gathered, Bai Jin placed surveillance magic on them, and they set off for the Curse Sect’s stronghold without a look back.

Bai Jin’s magic power was much more abundant than before; now she could directly project what the surveillance magic observed onto the space in front without using a crystal ball.

It was as if Yang Yu and his team were watching a movie, watching the reconnaissance team gradually approach their target.
