Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

”[Flame Ripple]”

Her whole body blazing fiercely, after [Modesty] took a few steps back, a crimson ripple emanated from her body, dispersing the water flow surrounding Lingshan, and launched Lingshan meters away, crashing into a thick rock pillar.

After repelling Lingshan, [Modesty] snapped her fingers,

”[Flame Gale]”

Four flames rose from [Modesty]’s feet, rotating around her as the center, forming an array, layers of fire rings encircled the array, rapidly expanding outward.

Recognizing [Magic Counter] was ineffective against [Flame Gale], Bai Jin changed tactics, swiftly chanting spells to form a defensive barrier.

Bai Jin had a hunch that the [Flame Gale] released by [Modesty] was by no means an ordinary [Flame Gale].

The [Flame Gale] [Modesty] was using, employed basic magic to reduce power while expanding its range; once released, it could engulf everyone here.

Given Bai Jin and his group’s current constitution, they need not worry about the flames causing damage, but there were still many members of the Terun Republic present, and if they were caught up, the consequences would be unimaginable.

However, the speed at which [Flame Gale] activated was far swifter than what Bai Jin had anticipated.

The flames forming the array grew brighter, pillars of fire erupted from the rings, hot flames surged, washing over the stone pillars, sweeping toward all sides in the blink of an eye.

Several Terun Republic officials curled up behind guards and magicians for protection, but the magicians and guards had already exhausted themselves defending against attacks. To initiate defense in such an urgent situation was nearly an imposition.

But they had no choice but to act.

They raised shields, chanted spells, and the guards resolved to use their bodies to withstand the flames, protecting the officials behind them.

At this moment, a blue sphere shot out from a sandpit, flying in front of these guards.

Before the guards could discern what the swiftly emerging sphere was, the blue sphere expanded rapidly, forming a sturdy firewall.

The burning flames slammed against this firewall, split open, and rushed toward the spacious courtyard, transforming it instantly into a massive sea of fire.

The guards looked up at the gigantic barrier before them.

A semi-transparent glass wall emitted fierce firelight, and suddenly, a silhouette appeared before the glass.

He raised a shield, an Illusion Shield rapidly formed in front of him.

Bathed in flames, he resembled a crimson bullet, instantaneously carving out a long tunnel amidst the layers of fire.

Lang Yi’s [Level Flow Replacement] was practically instantaneous, incredibly swift.

After a moment, as the sand tornado gradually subsided, Yang Yu realized Lang Yi had utilized [Level Flow Replacement].

Praising secretly while pondering how to escape the sandpit,

Ironically, due to [Modesty]’s changing position, the sand tornado gradually subsided, the storm that was initially flinging Yang Yu and the others to the sandpit’s edge vanished, leaving them sliding rapidly toward the sandpit’s center, farther from the edge.

Thankfully, Lang Yi, located in the sandpit’s center, noticed their descent. Pulling his leg from knee-deep sand, he tossed out two Water Blades with force.

The two Water Blades easily pierced through the slowing sand tornado, embedding in the sand, forming ice flowers that blocked Yang Yu’s sliding shield.

With a stable foothold, Yang Yu firmly hurled He Meng, using her to execute a displacement, finally exiting the deep pit.

Yet Yang Yu hadn’t imagined that [Modesty] would decisively shift her form, releasing such scorching flames.

But if he were to consider her position, standing in [Modesty]’s shoes, he too would definitely make the same decision.

Charging forward amidst the flames, the intense heat scorched Yang Yu’s skin, depleting his HP, yet he remained unfazed, using [Red Blood Path] to smash through stone pillars amidst the flames, forging a path, swiftly approaching [Modesty].

[Modesty] also noticed Yang Yu’s approach.

As Yang Yu drew closer, the flames around[Modesty] appeared to receive a special command, spiraling upwards, transforming into a cylindrical protective barrier.

Activating [Blazing Fire Shield], [Modesty] swiftly chanted [Dancing in the Air].

With the aid of the flames, even before completing the chant for [Dancing in the Air], [Modesty]’s whole body lifted off.

[Blazing Fire Shield] was magic capable of burning even oneself, but transformed along with Pingru’s equipment, [Modesty] was entirely fearless.

Upon seeing the column of flames rising skyward, Yang Yu’s sword gleamed with a peculiar light. As[Red Blood Path] paused momentarily, Yang Yu unleashed [Shield Shattering], shattering half of the barrier, carving a narrow path amidst the flames.

However, [Blazing Fire Shield] differed from ordinary defensive shield skills; the skill itself carried an aspect of an array.

The narrow path Yang Yu opened spewed tongues of fire, threatening to be consumed entirely by flames at any moment.

Without hesitation, Yang Yu plunged into the flames.

With his sword as support, Lingshan stood unharmed by the flames under the protection of Luo Luosi’s Shell, as did Jiao Xi and Luo Hasta.

However, Luo Luosi could only protect those nearby.

A bit further, Luo Luosi, though willing, was powerless to protect the rapidly charging Yang Yu.

Though she knew the flames were merely child’s play to Yang Yu, she couldn’t help but worry.

The hissing of flames, along with the bright firelight, entered her view. Luo Luosi fixated on the center of the flames.

Within the flames, Yang Yu confronted [Modesty], who was preparing to take flight once again.

[Modesty] had already begun to float, seeing Yang Yu’s arrival, she gathered a few intense fireballs in her palms, unhesitatingly directing them toward Yang Yu.

Yang Yu deftly dodged each fireball, slashing at [Modesty] with his sword.

[Modesty] had anticipated evading Yang Yu’s attack with the same speed as before, however, Yang Yu’s fire-lit sword flashed, slicing her right cheek and leaving a long, thin wound.

”Indeed, you have grown stronger, not merely by a small margin. But, you are already late. Just like that day, you cannot stop me from soaring to the sky.”

Flames surged rapidly, lifting her body. A faint smile appeared on [Modesty]’s face.

Nevertheless, [Modesty] didn’t anticipate that the previous time Yang Yu and his team missed the opportunity to attack due to [Modesty] having other allies present to share the pressure.

Now [Modesty] stood alone, with no one to assist her in suppressing Yang Yu’s team, others who have also progressed alongside Yang Yu.

Amidst the flickering flames, Iyas located [Modesty]’s ascending figure, drew her bowstring, and a Light Arrow sliced through the air, piercing through the blazing flames, hitting [Modesty] squarely in the chest.

[Modesty], being part-man and part-Slime, lacked human organs, so the blow didn’t count as a critical hit.

But Iyas’s Light Arrow soon transformed, countless Holy Light currents crawled up [Modesty]’s body, bombarding every inch of [Modesty]’s skin.
