Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

”Kai Bu....”

Lotcar met the fierce gaze cast by Kai Bu.

From the moment he heard the howl, Lotcar had a premonition he would see Kai Bu again, but when he truly saw Kai Bu in this state standing before him, Lotcar couldn’t help but feel conflicted.

Lotcar did not regret.

This was the choice he made.

At the time, there was no better way.

Kai Bu had been completely blinded by jealousy. From the moment he tried to kill him, there was no turning back; his heart had long become rotten and foul.

All Lotcar could do was send him on his way, praying that in the next life, he would be a better person.

Who knew that death was not Kai Bu’s ultimate end?

The red of his eyes burned fiercely as Kai Bu sneered from afar:

”Lotcar, it seems my intuition was not wrong.

Surprised to see me here?

In my current state, what do you think?”

A torrent of hatred surged forth, but Lotcar did not retreat, standing proudly with eyes unwavering, he calmly said:

”Kai Bu, at this point, there’s nothing left to say, is there?”

As soon as Lotcar finished speaking, the countless ghosts around Kai Bu boiled.

Kai Bu, teeth bared, eyes wide with rage, wished to rush over, bite through Lotcar’s neck, devour his flesh, and crush his soul.

After a moment, Kai Bu laughed instead of raged, throwing his head back with an eerie laugh that chilled everyone nearby.

Suddenly, his laughter stopped abruptly, glaring at Lotcar: ”Indeed, there’s nothing left to say.

To avenge myself, I endured countless torments and returned from Hell.

All of this to drag you into Hell as well, to taste the same pain I did.”

Countless blue souls whirled out from Kai Bu, transforming into blue skulls that hovered around him.

Mouths opened and closed like blue furnaces, blue ”molten lava” flowed out, soaking the stones beneath.

Strange magic power from Kai Bu’s feet crept along the ground towards Yang Yu and their direction, forming a massive blue battleground, seemingly opening the gates of Hell step by step.

A sense of danger permeated, Lotcar stood ready,

”Can I take care of this guy?”

Yang Yu patted Lotcar’s shoulder: ”I understand your feelings. It is here because it sensed your presence...

But, your closure with it was long done.

It’s just a cursed spirit controlled by the Curse Sect, aiming to delay us.

Don’t forget our current goal, facing it alone plays right into their trap.

Besides...

The gap between your strengths is vast; facing it won’t necessarily lead to victory.”

Yang Yu took out his Shield, preparing for battle:

”Lotcar, handling it personally is certainly romantic.

But only by knowing your limits can you go further.”

With a smile, Lotcar spoke no more, facing the lone Kai Bu.

If only he had paid more attention to his cousin back then, letting him realize ”what I have, he doesn’t, what he has, I don’t, and he too has people who cherish him”, perhaps he wouldn’t have fallen into the abyss of jealousy.

But, reality has no ’ifs’.

Raising his voice, Yang Yu gave commands to the troops behind him:

”Everyone, prepare for battle, to annihilate this monster.”

Yang Yu’s confident voice was like a beacon in the darkness, entering many hearts.

People who knew Yang Yu responded promptly. They hadn’t even seen the Curse Sect’s face yet, and if they were blocked by a monster from the Curse Sect now, how could they stop the demons from coming?

Are you sure this isn’t just giving the demons Experience?

The Priests and Holy Knights responsible for purification moved first.

The black monster seemed massive, but like those patched dark bird spiritual bodies, it was composed of countless souls.

If they could find a way to clear the spirits within Kai Bu, his strength would surely be greatly reduced; he might even shrink down, becoming akin to the Silver Wolf before them.

The Black Mist temporarily receded. To ensure the strength of the Holy Light, several Priests gathered, launching powerful Holy Light Skills together.

As Kai Bu took a step forward, rays of Holy Light bombarded towards him.

Baring his teeth, Kai Bu did not dodge, directing the blue skulls hovering around him.

The blue skulls instantly grew thin as a cicada’s wing, stacking one after another before Kai Bu, forming a sturdy Shield.

The pure Holy Light was split into two by the spirit-formed Shield, flowing past Kai Bu.

The spiritual bodies forming the Shield were damaged by the Holy Light, constantly wailing, but Kai Bu paid no heed, rushing towards Lotcar’s position.

This patched form of him had certainly become much stronger, but this strength didn’t wholly belong to him. Countless souls argued and roared within him, each step wavering his resolve.

Before he even descended the mountain, Kai Bu nearly lost his sanity due to the surging souls within him.

If not for his overwhelming hatred for Lotcar, Kai Bu couldn’t imagine what he would become.

However...

As long as he can drag Lotcar down with him, it matters not what he becomes later. He has truly lost everything, nothing to fear losing anymore.

Kai Bu broke through the encroaching Holy Light as Yang Yu whistled. Lotcar’s four legs powered forward, in an instant, he shot out several dozen meters.

A streak of crimson pierced into his palm, dyeing the Sword Blade orange, Yang Yu followed closely behind Lotcar, astonishingly also darting out several dozen meters in an instant.

The two sides drew ever closer, but Yang Yu had no intention of direct confrontation.

Kai Bu was twice Lotcar’s size and still full of mouths.

To deal with Kai Bu, one must strike when the chance arises, finding his weaknesses through skirmishing.

Soon, Yang Yu’s first opportunity came.

Iyas stood at the spot, drawing the bowstring, the Light Arrow sped forth, quickly surpassing the running Lotcar and Yang Yu.

Iyas’s arrows did not ”run along” with the Priests’ Holy Light, but aimed for Kai Bu’s right-side Black Mist, seemingly misfiring.

But having hunted in the jungle for decades, how could Iyas simply miss?

Incredibly, Iyas’s Light Arrow completed a turn mid-air, transforming into countless Light Needles, blasting at Kai Bu’s side.

Countless mouths and squirming limbs touched the shining needles, deflating like punctured balls, sinking into Kai Bu’s body.

Yet new mouths and writhing limbs quickly grew from Kai Bu’s side.

Due to losing part of the spiritual body, Kai Bu couldn’t immediately sense Yang Yu and Lotcar circling to his right side.

Taking big strides, Yang Yu climbed onto Lotcar’s back, leaping up as Double-sided Slash pierced into Kai Bu’s flank.
