Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Time rewinds a bit.

Not long ago, Iyas found Lotcar and showed him the note. With Lotcar’s understanding, there was no need for much explanation.

Meanwhile, Bai Jin sought out Xin Mang for help.

However, Bai Jin did not tell Xin Mang the truth but fabricated a lie that someone in the negotiation team and elite guard had been controlled by the Curse Sect.

Bai Jin said that if things continued like this, no one knew what would happen with the negotiation. Yang Yu had noticed something and wanted to expose it all, so Bai Jin hoped Xin Mang could lend them a hand, ensuring that they could rush to the negotiation venue first to assist Yang Yu if anything went wrong.

After hesitating, Xin Mang decided to trust Bai Jin and her group.

Yang Yu, who devoted himself wholeheartedly to Wansheng Country, was certainly not a bad person.

After packing up their belongings, Bai Jin and her group requested to leave from the Elite Captain, but, as expected, they were met with resistance.

Bai Jin didn’t panic. She chatted with Xin Mang, who pretended to say goodbye, while waiting for the situation to change.

Not long after, Lotcar was alerted by a loud noise in the distance. He immediately understood, disregarded the Guardian Team’s objections, and dashed out.

The Wansheng Country elite forces tried to pursue but were obstructed by [Baihua Binfen] and ruthlessly left behind by Lotcar.

Yang Yu had planned his escape route long ago. The destination was Marzic’s east gate.

Going out from there led to the barren lands of the Luo Ze Empire, and beyond the barren lands lay a forest where powerful magical beasts roamed. Further on, it was quite close to the All Things Library.

Regarding the firm Enchanting Demon Mark, there were still many things Yang Yu wanted to investigate thoroughly to prepare for the future.

Speedily parkouring over rooftops, Ice Spring pursued Yang Yu relentlessly, and the Luo Ze Empire also dispatched personnel to chase Yang Yu. However, Yang Yu’s speed was too fast, leaving them struggling to catch even a glimpse of his trail despite their full efforts.

Escaping was indeed an essential survival skill, and Yang Yu was naturally quite proficient.

The Luo Ze Empire’s Magicians flew into the sky and used magic intending to cut off Yang Yu’s escape route, but as soon as one path was blocked, Yang Yu quickly switched to another route.

The Luo Ze Magicians responsible for the attack could only watch as Yang Yu got further away.

Once it was discovered that Yang Yu’s direction was the east gate, the Luo Ze Magicians used a Crystal Ball to deliver defense instructions to the soldiers at the eastern city gate, intending to delay Yang Yu.

But Yang Yu joined up with the arriving Lotcar.

Lotcar and Yang Yu rode side by side, jokingly saying, ”General, you really gave us a big surprise.”

”Any complaints, we’ll talk after we get out of here. I’ll explain the plan then! Mu Jin, break through with all your might!”

Marzic’s eastern city gate was getting closer, and the Luo Ze soldiers receiving orders hurriedly erected defenses and closed the gate. The officer in charge of guarding shouted hoarsely at all the gate-guarding soldiers:

”Defend with all your might! We must not let them out from here!”

The defending Luo Ze soldiers numbered only about two hundred, hardly enough to stop Yang Yu’s group progressing.

Bai Jin raised the Magic Wand Sigh Seed, and from the pure white array, a sturdy Ice Spear was forged. With a push forward, it shattered the gate into splinters.

The Luo Ze Empire soldiers tried to form a human wall but were knocked into disarray by Lotcar.

Yang Yu and his group left just like that.

...

...

Watching Yang Yu and company depart, Alk shook his head and reported the situation through Telepathy to Dorena:

”.....They’re gone, unable to stop them, really sorry.”

”Thank you. I’ll treat you later; I need to make an urgent report. Can the Luo Ze Empire negotiation team be left to you temporarily?”

”Understood.”

Receiving Alk’s reply, Dorena, who had already rushed out of the meeting room, found a deserted spot and took out a contact Crystal Ball to briefly inform Minister Ming Dalak...

No, Ming Dalak was no longer the Prime Minister of this country now.

”Governor, I’m really sorry, our task failed.

Everything happened too suddenly, Potato Thorn was too decisive, as if he had known we would do that to him.

No, he must have anticipated this kind of event occurring.

Otherwise, he couldn’t have been so composed; the situation is special now, specific details will be reported later.

Please direct the next steps, Governor.”

Sitting in the spacious Wansheng Country conference hall, Ming Dalak interlocked his fingers, with no emotion on his face, just issuing instructions in a very calm manner:

”Is that so...escaped, huh? Anyway, appease them, it’s okay to be detained, don’t inform them of anything about our side.”

”Yes.”

”The matters over there are entrusted to you; a new round of war has already begun. I have a lot of things to handle over here. If the giant dragon says anything, then come find me; otherwise, don’t disturb me.”

”Yes.”

Hearing his subordinate’s resolute answer, Ming Dalak cut off the contact.

”Looks like it’s not going very smoothly, Great Governor Ming Dalak.

I told you earlier; that man is not to be underestimated.

Couldn’t believe you would use such a method to try to bind him. This method isn’t as effective as you initially claimed.

He should be kept within the country and then send out some true experts to finish him off.

Private resolution within the country doesn’t need to consider the combat power gap.”

Sitting at the empty conference table, Hans Morning Glory sat in a chair, playing with the morning glory in his hands.

Ming Dalak expressionless: ”For now, let’s not consider what kind of person is needed to subdue him; if failed, the consequences would be endless.

That person is a hero; attacking heroes makes one an evildoer.

We cannot taint ourselves with infamy now; all these are to guide this country towards a more ideal side, let humans taste the suffering they deserve.”

Hans smilingly: ”But he still ran. If he comes back, exposes your misdeeds, or directly rebels towards the Luo Ze Empire, what then?”

Ming Dalak resolutely said: ”It’s impossible to do. Coming back, as long as he is human, he can’t overthrow us. As for defecting to the human forces, we can just ’clean house’.”

Hans jokingly: ”Really ruthless. He contributed quite a lot to this country, treating him like that seems too harsh. If I were him, I’d probably be so angry wanting to sweep us all away and become the King myself.”

These words seemed to touch Ming Dalak’s nerves, his previously calm demeanor suddenly fluctuating: ”Being a King is not that easy. Our country doesn’t need a King anymore either.”

A hint of ferocity appeared in Hans’s eyes, ”Really daring to say that, you preserved the lives of their father and daughter, didn’t you? That can become a time bomb. If you ask me, it’s better to eliminate them early.”

Ming Dalak returned to his usual calm, speaking: ”Do not question my decisions. Do your job. Then I will fulfill my promise.”

As Hans was about to casually respond, Ming Dalak’s secretary Yue Leina appeared in the meeting hall, respectfully saying to Ming Dalak:

”Governor, it’s soon time for the inauguration ceremony, please prepare.”
