Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

The rookies and veterans in charge of the battlements shifted their gaze to the azure sky following Bai Jin’s Magic Array.

They saw a massive Magic Array spread out over Benliang City, releasing dense black clouds like ink.

Without thunder or lightning, a single black raindrop fell on the forehead of an old soldier guarding the battlements while the rookie beside him also reached out and caught a black raindrop.

Both men simultaneously pinched the black raindrop with their index fingers and thumbs.

The black liquid was as viscous as an egg, and when it was brought close to the nose, it had a sulfurous smell like rotten eggs, extremely pungent, causing great discomfort.

Plop, plop, plop, more and more black raindrops began to fall from the sky.

The magicians activated the defensive protective shield.

Watching the black raindrops hit the protective shield, they looked bewildered.

They all knew this was weather control magic, but they had never seen such black rain before.

Even General Scarlett, as a magician, participated in constructing the defense magic.

The black rain did not freeze despite Selovomen’s severe cold, falling continuously.

An ominous premonition welled up in General Scarlett’s heart, as if a black Death God was quietly approaching them.

The black rain falling from the sky was petroleum.

Yang Yu was searching for natural asphalt lakes and underground oil seepage in the swamps.

With the help of Iyas and the Wild Boar Beastmen, Yang Yu found the oil veins in the asphalt lake in no time.

Known to everyone as the lifeblood of modern industry, petroleum was not unfamiliar to anyone.

Upon first seeing the ”oil veins,” Yang Yu was anxious, but the quality of the ”oil veins” they found was beyond imagination.

Through boards sunk to the bottom of the ”oil veins,” Yang Yu could acquire the highest quality oil, which had hardly been oxidized.

Mixed with mud and sand into asphalt, the crude oil contained many volatile combustible substances.

Just imagine if!

Suppose the rain from the sky was crude oil; the drizzle would cause the substances in the oil to fully volatilize, and those flammable gases would permeate the city.

What would happen if a spark appeared at that time?

An unimaginable massive explosion and fire would surely occur.

Just like how a cigarette butt could cause a gas station explosion.

These are lessons written in blood and tears.

Iyas stood up from Lotcar, with a specially crafted arrow already in her hand.

The arrowhead was coated with white phosphorus.

Yang Yu had experimented with Iyas’s Guaranteed Hit Arrow.

When the arrow disappeared, it seemed to traverse another dimension, with its speed and status unchanged, making it perfect for igniting this ”heavy rain.”

As Iyas drew her bow, Yang Yu also took out a Burning Bottle.

If the flame on Iyas’s arrowhead extinguished before reaching the city walls, Yang Yu would resort to a backup plan.

However, before Iyas released the string, a massive explosion erupted from within Benliang City.

The embers left from the Luoze Empire’s midday cooking aided Yang Yu and the others in igniting the ”heavy rain” prematurely.

The soldiers of Luo Ze on the walls were startled by the noise from inside the city, turning back to see endless flames rushing toward them.

Explosions broke out within the city as the fire advanced.

The surging crimson flames resembled a demon.

The once orderly Luo Ze’s troops on the wall were thrown into chaos, dropping their weapons and fleeing in all directions.

Seeing this, Yang Yu didn’t feel particularly happy, only tightening his fist and issuing a command to Iyas:

”Do it.”

With Yang Yu’s order, Iyas’s arrow shot across the sky, trailing a white smoke.

As the arrowhead neared ignition, the entire arrow vanished into the void.

When the arrow reappeared, the white phosphorus on the arrowhead intensely rubbed against the air, leaving a long white flame in its wake.

Before the arrow could touch the wall, it ignited the perimeter of Benliang City.

Fierce flames followed by explosions rapidly climbed the walls washed by the black rain, engulfing the Luo Ze soldiers before the internal blaze swallowed those on the walls.

The shells used by the Luoze Empire’s cannons exploded under the intense heat, with terrifying blasts echoing one after another, completely shattering the city walls. Chunks of burning stone plummeted into the fiery abyss outside the city.

Thick flames released endless tongues of fire, emitting black smoke, and in no time, Benliang City was engulfed in flames, the inferno reaching for the endless sky.

Flaming red was all that remained around Benliang City.

In an instant, cries of anguish echoed, shadows fled haphazardly amidst the fire.

Some fell in the flames, turning to ash; some jumped straight from the city walls, breaking their legs, eventually swallowed by the flames, with a few soldiers occasionally escaping the inferno, collapsing to the ground upon reaching unburned areas, desperately rubbing to extinguish the flames on their bodies, only to be left like scorched charcoal, barely breathing.

Nobody anticipated that in just a few minutes, a hellish scene would be vividly unfolding before their eyes.

Witnessing this, the three Beastmen handling the Memory Crystals turned nauseous, barely maintaining the operation of the Memory Crystals.

At this moment, the hatred they harbored dissipated, replaced by sympathy for the Luoze soldiers defending Benliang City.

Yang Yu put away the Burning Bottle, clenched his fist, nails digging deep into his flesh.

He gazed at the blazing Benliang City, at a loss for words.

Though he had prepared himself mentally, the brutal scene before him stirred hesitation in his heart.

Raising his clenched hand and slowly opening it, Yang Yu saw his hand tremble slightly.

And the tremor in his hand seemed like a disease, spreading from his palm to his arm, from his arm to his shoulder, from his shoulder to his chest...

Yang Yu lifted his other hand, firmly pressed down on the trembling hand, and the tremor was finally halted.

Avoiding the raging fire before him, Yang Yu turned his gaze to the boundless sky, murmuring softly:

”If you have any remnants of mercy.

It’s time to show yourselves...

If delayed any longer, who knows how many lives will be lost this time.”

As if to answer Yang Yu’s anticipation, a rift suddenly tore the sky open without warning.

A massive red giant dragon emerged from the rift, flying to the sky over Benliang City, opening her mouth and spewing out white Dragon Breath.

The flames engulfing Benliang City were gradually subdued by the white Dragon Breath until they finally extinguished, with only a few stubborn flames remaining.
