Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

”To the esteemed members of the Plant Race Council:

During my time living with the Plant Clan, I received a lot of care from you.

During this period, I inquired about many matters regarding the Plant Clan, and everyone was very warm to me, which made me very pleased.

Through the information I gathered, I have developed my own unique insights on who and for what purpose the Plant Clan’s Racial Essence was stolen.

Next, I will list my guesses and speculations one by one, perhaps they might inspire the members of the Plant Race Council.

First, let me talk about what I believe is the most likely and also the most interesting speculation.

The person who stole the Plant Clan’s Racial Essence did not do so out of malice; perhaps they just wanted the ’Plant Clan’ to continue existing.

You may find this quite unbelievable, so please allow me to explain slowly.

We know that during the long history of the Plant Clan, the Upper Species gradually perished for various reasons, resulting in less and less Racial Essence being accumulated.

The Racial Essence of the Plant Clan is essential for the Lower Species or Rare Species of the Plant Clan to transform into the Upper Species.

With the current development, it won’t be long before the Upper Species becomes a thing of the past for the Plant Clan.

It is not hard to imagine what kind of disaster the Plant Clan will be drawn into after losing the shelter of the Upper Species.

A great crisis is enough to make the Plant Clan disappear forever in the river of history.

Even if some barely survive, the Plant Clan also has an extremely fatal disease, the Woodification Disease, a cloud that cannot be dispelled, hanging over every survivor’s head.

Now, let me state my conclusion.

The Plant Clan member who stole the Racial Essence may want you to get involved in the war between Wansheng Country and the Luo Ze Empire, to make you step out of these lands you have always inhabited, and interact with other races.

And during this, surely there will be situations where members of the Plant Clan and other sub-human races fall in love with each other and eventually give birth to offspring.

Those offspring, the characteristics of the Plant Clan will become faint, and most of the Plant Clan may not acknowledge them as Plant Clan, but they are indeed the offspring of the Plant Clan.

Those offspring might also fall in love with other sub-humans, and give birth to offspring with even fainter Plant Clan characteristics.

Even if you deny those descendants, deny their Plant Clan identity!

This does not change the fact that Plant Clan blood flows in them; the ’Plant Clan’ indeed continues to exist.

That’s right.

The purpose of that Plant Clan member might be to promote the fusion of the Plant Clan with other sub-human species.

In this way, even if the descendants of the Plant Clan no longer possess the strength of plants, they could survive by acquiring strength from other races.

Even if they themselves have no strength, they can depend on their identity as citizens of Wansheng Country to be protected by this nation.

What an incredible notion, such an idea has a nine out of ten chance of not being accepted by the majority of the Plant Clan!

It takes a certain courage just to speak it out, therefore, he finally chose to steal the Racial Essence.

Without the Racial Essence, the decline of the Plant Clan will further accelerate.

For the sake of the Racial Essence, you will surely leave the reclusive village, find ways to search for the stolen Racial Essence, and subsequently, inadvertently establish contacts with Wansheng Country.

By that time, only a small nudge would be needed to complete mutual cooperation.

This time, the Plant Clan’s Racial Essence has recently been gathered; after two gatherings of the Racial Essence, no doubt all council members are exhausted, with greatly diminished strength.

If this Racial Essence is stolen again, I’m afraid you won’t have the ability to gather a third time.

By then, in what way will you reward the autumn festival winners?

Will you change the annual autumn festival to once every two years, then to every three years, or directly change to other prizes?

Presumably, most of the Plant Clan would find such changes hard to accept, thus leaving these lands far behind.

If my speculation is correct, your Racial Essence will surely be stolen again in the near future, so be cautious.

The Tree Mother you rely on must have also understood that person’s intentions and implemented assistance...

Perhaps these are mere unfounded ideas of mine, but given such possibilities, I have still listed them.

Next, I will discuss who might be harboring such thoughts, and what other possibilities there are.

...

...”

Quan Xiangguo slowly closed the letter.

When he first saw this letter left by Yang Yu a year ago, Quan Xiangguo was also taken aback.

However, the viewpoints presented in it are not impossible. Quan Xiangguo took Yang Yu’s speculation as a reference and began to constantly keep an eye on it.

Finally, at that time when the Plant Clan member was most likely to act, he caught him red-handed.

”Hans....”

Murmuring, Quan Xiangguo looked towards the empty conference room, issuing an aged sigh:

”Tree Mother... do you also think our Plant Clan’s decline is inevitable?”

The Tree Mother did not respond to Quan Xiangguo.

But the soul observing the outside world from within the Tree Mother nodded somewhat sorrowfully and desolately.

The birth of the Plant Clan was extremely complex, and to help extend the continuity of the Plant Clan, the concept of Racial Essence was created.

But now, it is almost impossible to produce the Plant Clan’s Racial Essence, and the Plant Clan will only be eroded by its own defects over the long years.

The mission of the Plant Clan has long since ended; maintaining the purity of the Plant Clan is already meaningless.

Allowing other races’ genes to gradually fill in their defects before being eroded by those defects might be a good choice.

Perhaps, it is the best choice.

With a long morning glory vine extended in hand, Hans hooked onto a tree branch and swung between the trees like Tarzan the Ape Man, continually advancing forward.

Along the way, he occasionally encountered some demons which Hans Morning Glory easily dealt with.

Encountering other Plant Clan members, Hans could also calmly greet them with an excuse of going out, completely unfazed like a thief, and left the Life Forest with utter transparency.

Time flowed slowly, day turned into night, and night turned to day.

The scenery around Hans slowly changed from forest to villages where Beastmen frequented, then to bustling towns and streets.

Finally, on a certain night, Hans arrived at a bustling metropolis full of blooming autumn chrysanthemums.

—this country’s capital, Baihua City.

He entered the city ordinarily, greeted the guards ordinarily, then quietly and stealthily used the morning glory vine to climb over a residence, and found a room with an open window to sneak into the villa.

He walked through the corridors as if he were the rightful owner of the house, boldly pushing open a room’s door.

At the other end of the door was a figure diligently reviewing documents under dim lamplight.

His unique long golden hair radiated a special luster under the dim light.

Upon seeing him, Hans Morning Glory greeted warmly:

”Minister Ming Dalak, long time no see.”
