The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 1732: Chapter 1732: ’Ordinary Person’ Nathalie Quinlan

”More importantly, we should find out why Jaycent Kingsley suddenly returned and what he’s back for.”

Logically, the future of the Kingsleys Family should naturally be inherited by Jaycent, yet Frederick Upton’s stance is very ambiguous.

Moreover, Jaycent himself, as a member of the Kingsleys Family, has no interest in black gunpowder whatsoever and knows nothing about it.

Frederick Upton instead particularly emphasizes and promotes Zevaney Kingsley.

This back-and-forth naturally causes unrest within the Kingsleys Family, with some placing their bets on Zevaney to try their luck.

Willy Kingsley is one of them.

He shows little interest in an irrelevant girl from Zenla, focusing more on Jaycent’s movements rather than Nathalie Quinlan.

Zevaney is very courteous to him, explaining her thoughts politely, ”I think this Nathalie Quinlan isn’t as simple as she appears. She gives me a very familiar feeling, but I can’t quite explain it at the moment.”

Willy Kingsley furrows his brow, still reluctant to pay attention to a student from Tsinghua University, ”They are leaving tomorrow. Whatever’s unusual about them has nothing to do with us anyway.”

”They’re leaving tomorrow?” Zevaney, often busy with research and other studies, usually has no time for sleep each day.

She rarely pays attention to minor matters in Inderia.

Like when outsiders are leaving.

If not for Nathalie Quinlan this time, she wouldn’t have noticed the outside forces at all.

”Early tomorrow morning.” Willy took a sip of coffee, put down the cup, and said, ”They and some other forces at the Paradise Hotel are all leaving by tomorrow or the day after. I think you’re overthinking it. Since our people couldn’t find anything on Nathalie Quinlan, it means it’s just a coincidence this time. If you keep digging, you won’t find anything conclusive. We might as well focus our energy on our real tasks...”

Zevaney remained silent, lowering her gaze as though in thought.

After a while, she suddenly looked up and said to the others, ”I’ll take a trip to Zenla once I finish my experiments.”

”I still think she wouldn’t want to see the Kingsleys Family genealogy for no reason. Besides, black gunpowder isn’t something one can just stumble upon by chance.”

She felt that Nathalie Quinlan’s skillful handling of matters related to black gunpowder was startling.

While Zevaney was shocked, it also made her more cautious.

Of course, she didn’t believe anyone could surpass her talent in this regard, but when it came to black gunpowder, she was cautious. Regardless of whether they found out the background, she would investigate further.

”Are you really putting so much thought into Nathalie Quinlan? She’s just an ordinary person. She’s not worth your attention. If you’re worried, you could just send someone to Beijing to check. Why go yourself...” Willy Kingsley still dismissed her concerns, making no effort to conceal his disdain for Nathalie Quinlan: ”Just an outsider. She’s not even considered an Inderian! Such a person isn’t worth your attention at all.”

Zevaney was unmoved, her eyes lowered as she calmly said, ”Uncle, you don’t need to say any more. I’ve already made up my mind.”

Seeing her insistence, Willy frowned slightly, somewhat disapproving but aware that he and Zevaney were mutually beneficial.

He couldn’t play the elder’s card in front of Zevaney, even if he privately disagreed.

A girl from Zenla had ’happened’ to learn a bit about black gunpowder manufacture; Zevaney was taking this too seriously!
