The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 1713: Chapter 1713: Amadeus’s Cover Is About to Be Blown

Candice Yancey picked up her phone: ”?”

Mr. Yancey didn’t hide it from her either. He sat back down in his chair, eyes on his nose, speaking: ”I always feel like our shipment being hijacked this time is related to the business alliance, and it’s worth pondering over Yandor Sect’s actions of capturing people at this time.”

He’s overthinking it.

Candice Yancey was thinking in simpler terms, still not quite understanding what he meant: ”Dad, are you saying that Yandor Sect is helping us this time?”

Mr. Yancey picked up his tea again, took a sip, then put the cup down, his brows and eyes unmoved, but those somewhat clouded eyes showed a hint of exploration: ”Yandor Sect has always been a major power rising in Inderia in recent years. Their background is mysterious, and their actions are irregular...”

Candice Yancey looked puzzled.

So what?

”Do you remember that a few years back, Yandor Sect also posted a bounty on the black market looking for that mysterious healer on the black market?”

Candice Yancey opened her mouth: ”What’s this got to do with them helping us?”

Mr. Yancey’s tiger eyes remained as sharp as ever after decades, certainly far more wise than Candice Yancey’s age.

He slowly fiddled with the teacup, causing the tea to ripple, and he averted his eyes, gazing into the distance: ”I always feel like the person behind the Yandor Sect is someone familiar among us.”

In the years when Edric’s leg was at its worst, besides The Ninth Institute searching for experts worldwide, he also noticed that Yandor Sect was looking for a healer.

Later, Edric’s leg was healed, and the black market went quiet again with Yandor Sect, like ripples on the lake gradually settling into calm, as if nothing had happened.

At that time, he felt it was a bit of a coincidence.

But since Yandor Sect is a power from Inderia, he didn’t delve into it.

Thinking about it now, coincidences always have a reason to exist.

This time it’s again such a coincidence that he can’t help but think about it.

”Have Fredy Yancey look into it again.”

The Yancey Family’s power is in the country, not overseas.

They do have their people overseas, but after all, it’s not their home base, making it less convenient than in the country.

”Also.” Mr. Yancey paused briefly, his eyes darkening, sternly advising: ”Remember to tell him not to let Shania Yancey find out.”

Candice Yancey was even more bewildered, not understanding why Mr. Yancey didn’t want Shania Yancey to know.

But her strength was in not asking too many questions.

”Alright.” Candice Yancey nodded, just about to get up to handle it.

Mr. Yancey called her back again.

Candice Yancey stopped: ”?”

Mr. Yancey’s face completely relaxed, looking at her, and he advised again with concern: ”Take the time to reply to Nathalie. Tell her to be careful over there, take care of herself, and ask what time her flight is coming back the day after tomorrow... Also, send her the Yancey Family’s contacts in Inderia. The matter of the shipment is not urgent, have them prioritize Nathalie’s safety first.”

He said a lot in one breath, and Candice Yancey almost couldn’t remember it all. After noting everything down, she smiled and told him: ”I’ve never seen you care so much about Amadeus, tsk, if that brat knew, he’d be heartbroken!”

”Him?” Mr. Yancey’s expression was indifferent, seemingly not wanting to mention him, disdainfully waving his hand for her to leave: ”He just asked the family for a billion, it’s quite something to approach me, almost emptied my coffin funds.”

Candice Yancey: ”...”

Your coffin funds surely exceed this amount, a billion probably only takes a piece of wood from your coffin.

However, she dared not trigger Mr. Yancey’s temper face-to-face, wisely keeping silent.
