The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 1709: Chapter 1709: They Might Think You Know Someone from the Yandor Sect

”This morning, Master Cadmus and I received an invitation letter sent by someone from the Kingsleys Family. It invites us to attend their banquet.”

”But there’s one condition from them, you must come along.”

Shawn Norton was somewhat puzzled.

”You’ve always lived in McKinney and haven’t been out much. I don’t understand why they insist on having you there. Maybe it’s related to yesterday’s auction.”

Shawn knew that they did have some connections even in Inderia, and had heard some rumors, feeling quite uneasy as he told Nathalie Quinlan, ”I heard the president of the Chamber of Commerce alliance was captured, perhaps they believe this incident is related to you and want to meet you.”

The girl clasped the bottle cap in her hand, listening as he spoke. Hearing this, the wildness in her eyes subdued, her brow slightly raised, revealing a faint light unintentionally, yet she did not interrupt to speak.

Shawn didn’t believe that Torre’s situation had anything to do with Nathalie and just considered it a coincidence. He then lifted his head to look at Nathalie, asking quite seriously, ”Nathalie, Master Cadmus and I discussed it, and we both think this is an opportunity.”

”The Kingsleys Family has an extremely high status in Inderia. I haven’t had contact with people at their level yet. At your age, being able to attend a banquet like this—how should I put it—I think the benefits outweigh the disadvantages!”

”Even if you don’t get to meet influential people at the banquet, at least you can see the top circle in Inderia.”

Shawn was merely analyzing the pros and cons for her, without forcing Nathalie to choose one way or the other, gently asking, ”Nathalie, what’s your thought?”

Then he glanced at Master Cadmus, turned back, and said to the girl, ”We’ve discussed it among ourselves, and we’re inclined to follow your lead. If you want to go, we’ll go. If you don’t want to go, we won’t. Don’t feel pressured; others mainly invited you, we’re just tagging along, so it’s fine either way.”

It indeed was a rare opportunity.

This team that participated in the research negotiations, likely only they received this invitation letter.

One would think they shouldn’t refuse such an opportunity.

But Shawn and Master Cadmus had agreed to follow Nathalie’s wishes.

If Nathalie wanted to go, they would; if not, they would stay home.

After all, at their age, they no longer obsess over fame and fortune. If it’s destined, they’ll meet; if not, they won’t worry about it.

Plus, others from the research team, like Stanley Zachmann’s generation—young middle-aged people mostly shared Stanley’s character.

They are relaxed!

Sharing that same mindset.

If they go, they go; if they don’t, there’s no disappointment.

Shawn’s brows and eyes relaxed warmly as he softly asked her again, ”So you can take your time to decide whether you want to go; we just wanted to let you know about this.”

”What time?”

Just as he finished talking, Nathalie’s voice quietly rang out.

Shawn was startled for a moment, then replied, ”The day after tomorrow.”

”The day after tomorrow?”

Nathalie calculated the time, capped the bottle, put the water back, and lifted her gaze towards him: ”I can go.”

After all, they invited her specifically.

Explicitly naming her to attend.

Nathalie found no reason to refuse!

Go.

Why not go?

She happened to want to meet someone from the Kingsleys Family.

”Uh?” Her straightforward agreement left Shawn a bit caught off guard, dazed momentarily. He saw the girl indeed agreed to go and scratched his nose: ”Then I’ll inform someone from the Kingsleys Family about it.”
