The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 1717: Chapter 1717: She Didn’t Turn Off Her Phone, She Blocked Him

”If you’re in a hurry, fifty minutes will do.”

Amadeus Yancey couldn’t help but laugh, his Adam’s apple rolling while his gaze remained fixed on Nathalie Quinlan. Leaning back, he said in an orderly manner, ”No need, I’m not in a rush.”

”Alright.” Nathalie didn’t want to go too fast, to avoid sore wrists the next day. She responded, placing her hands back on the keyboard, her voice unhurried: ”Wait for me.”

Ten minutes later.

Nathalie had already created a rough draft of a software, although this was just the initial part and further refinements would be needed.

She was typing code when her phone, which hadn’t been quiet for long, rang again.

Nathalie was most annoyed by phone calls interrupting her coding process. Suppressing her irritation, she reached for the phone and glanced down.

It was the same unknown number as before.

Her eyelids twitched.

She didn’t answer.

But the caller was very persistent, calling once more.

She watched the number flash on the phone screen again.

Nathalie smirked, her brows nonchalant and playful, directly dragging the annoying, repeatedly calling number into the blacklist.

The world suddenly became peaceful!

She no longer concerned herself with the minor interruption, put the phone back, and refocused on the computer with a third of the code already written.

*

Outside.

”Why isn’t she picking up?” Vincent Moore dialed for the second time, yet the call was still not answered.

Taking the phone aside, he attempted a third call.

This time was more straightforward.

A pleasant female voice emitted directly from the receiver: ”Sorry, the number you called is powered off!”

”Powered off?” Vincent was stunned, instinctively doubting it: ”So quickly?”

He recalled dialing three successive calls, and even if the other party turned off the phone, it couldn’t happen in a second.

He wasn’t foolish.

A moment of reflection made him realize what had actually happened.

— The phone wasn’t turned off, he had been blocked!

Vincent: ”...”

He stood there, unwilling to give up, trying once again, but it was the same, powered off was powered off, calls couldn’t get through.

Basically, whenever he dialed, there was no busy signal, just the mechanical female voice notifying him that the number was powered off.

At this point, Vincent had no choice but to abandon it despite his reluctance.

He brought out Wallace Radcliff’s text, comparing the dialed number, which was exactly the same.

That is to say, the first call wasn’t dialed incorrectly.

However, the voice he heard on the call was so familiar that he almost thought it was Amadeus’s someone!

After hanging up, he went to ask Wallace if an incorrect number had been given, and asked Wallace to resend the phone number of the computer whiz again...

Vincent stood in place, uncertain whether to go inside or wait outside a bit longer, contemplating whether to try the number again.

Just then.

His phone vibrated.

Vincent thought the other party was returning the call, his eyes brightened with excitement, but then he realized it wasn’t a call, only a new text message notification.

His mood quickly dampened, casually opening the new message.

[Wallace Radcliff: By the way, I forgot to tell you, Ms. Quinlan is busy, don’t keep calling and bothering her. If she still doesn’t answer your call, wait before calling again. If that doesn’t work, send her a message saying you were introduced by me and hope she can help.]
