The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 1707: Chapter 1707: So You’re the Backup?

Jaycent Kingsley’s expression at this moment was quite indescribable: ”Her name is Nathalie Quinlan.”

”Nathalie Quinlan, huh. That’s a lovely name!” Yuni Davidson, in a good mood, praised with a beaming smile.

Jaycent Kingsley replied perfunctorily, ”Yeah, it’s pretty nice, and she’s also good-looking.”

Yuni Davidson glanced at him and teased, ”You even know she’s good-looking? Wow, I thought you didn’t pay attention to those things.”

As she spoke, she thought for a moment and frowned, ”But why does your friend’s name sound so familiar to me?”

Jaycent Kingsley looked at her, moving his mouth, wanting to say, ”You just mentioned her, how could it not sound familiar?”

He almost said it but held back.

Yuni Davidson already reacted, looking at him in astonishment, and asked in surprise, ”Is your friend the girl who had a conflict with Torre at the Paradise Hotel?!”

No wonder Yuni Davidson had such a big reaction.

Right now, the entire power structure in Inderia is focused on Nathalie Quinlan!

She never expected that the person causing such a huge stir was Jaycent’s friend, who had just had a leisurely meal with her son.

Despite her surprise, Yuni couldn’t help but feel a sense of admiration, which diluted the astonishment on her face.

”How did you two meet?”

Yuni Davidson glanced at him again, adjusted the shawl on her shoulders, walked to the sofa, gracefully picked up the black tea cup on the table, took a small sip, and then put down the cup slightly before looking up at him.

Her eyes were filled with curiosity, ”I heard she has always lived in McKinney, never been abroad, just living between school and home.”

”Logically, you shouldn’t have had any interaction with her, so I’m puzzled, how did you two meet?”

Yuni Davidson knew her son well.

Jaycent Kingsley isn’t someone who easily gets close to anyone.

He’s always smiling, seems easy-going, but in reality, it’s hard for him to connect with others deeply.

In the Kingsleys Family, there are so many people of similar age who often hang out, but Yuni hadn’t seen him get close to anyone!

He’s so aloof to the relatives at home; Yuni couldn’t figure out what charm Nathalie Quinlan had that made Jaycent so invested.

”You just said she’s very pretty...?”

If the young lady is pretty, who knows, her son might be drawn to her looks!

Just as Yuni said half of her sentence, Jaycent quickly raised his hand to stop her, ”Mom, enough!”

Yuni looked at him in confusion.

Jaycent raised his hand, rubbed his temples, helplessly walked to her side, and put down his coat, his tall, slender body, and gentle, handsome appearance, raised his eyes to look at her, ”She has a boyfriend.”

Yuni froze for a second and blurted out, ”So you’re the backup?”

Jaycent: ”...”

Yuni considered her son’s exceptional appearance and thought it unlikely he would be someone’s backup; she frowned, ”Then you two...”

Jaycent was scared of her assumptions and quickly explained, ”We’re online friends.”

”...” Yuni obviously did not believe him.

Jaycent hadn’t even figured out how Nathalie got involved with the Yandor Sect, and he didn’t want to divulge much, fearing it might cause trouble for Nathalie.

So he vaguely explained to his mom, ”Didn’t I tell you on the phone before? We’ve been online friends for years, although we only met once, we hit it off and consider each other friends in life.”

He was worried Yuni might misunderstand his relationship with Nathalie and added, ”Also, we’re not in the kind of relationship you imagine.”

Jaycent found a precise term to define it.

”She... is younger than me, and I don’t know why, but I always feel like she’s my sister, can’t help but look after her a bit more. If you insist... she’s like a sister!”
