The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 686: Chapter 686: It’s like watching an idiot - Part 1

He heard Amadeus Yancey’s deep chuckle and asked her, ”Do you need to use a computer?”

Nathalie Quinlan met his gaze directly, her pitch-black eyes moved away quickly, feeling inexplicably hot, always feeling a bit flustered: ”I didn’t bring a USB flash drive, I can’t copy it, I definitely need to use a computer.”

”Alright. I’ll let Alfred Garland get it for you later,” Amadeus said as he watched the girl’s swiftly-averted line of sight, chuckling softly, his gaze softened.

Phoebe Hoffman was really losing patience, her face filled with disbelief as she looked at the striking-looking man, her heart pounding violently.

What kind of joke was Amadeus playing?

The laptop contained their The Ninth Institute’s project which was halfway done, and autonomous driving technology was one of the hottest technologies in the world with countries all over accelerating their research pace.

Their progress wasn’t fast; if they were to leak what they had researched so far...

Phoebe couldn’t even imagine.

She also couldn’t understand why Amadeus Yancey would trust that a high school girl could solve in two days the programming problems that she hadn’t been able to solve in three months! And even let her take such an important laptop away!

What was more unacceptable to her was yet to come.

After talking about the autonomous driving programming, Amadeus Yancey seemed to mention casually, ”Oh right, there’s another thing I need your help with.”

”Hmm?” Nathalie Quinlan glanced at him irritably, nearly blurting out, ’You sure have a lot of requests.’

But she held back.

”What is it?”

Amadeus Yancey looked at the girl’s rebellious profile, his thin lips unconsciously curling up, his voice growing even deeper: ”It’s nothing big. One of my elders is ill, suffering from migraines, and I’d like you to take a look for me. If you have time, I’ll take you to see him.”

Thump.

Phoebe accidentally knocked over the cup beside her, her beautiful oval face turning pale, unable to keep her composure any longer, she said, ”Amadeus, Master Cadmus’s illness, we have sought so many renowned domestic and international doctors and none have been effective, how could a high school student be of any help?”

Her gaze landed on Nathalie Quinlan very unfriendly; she held back, then said, ”Adelle Wafford also tried to treat Master Cadmus to no avail, how could she be better than Adelle Wafford?”

What international joke was this, a high school student couldn’t possibly be better than a renowned domestic neurologist, right! Who would believe that!

If Amadeus intended to take Nathalie Quinlan to treat Master Cadmus, he would inevitably have to bring her to The Ninth Institute.

What kind of place was The Ninth Institute, a place where outsiders could just walk in?

This touched her bottom line; she really couldn’t remain indifferent.

Brian Bonette and Wallace Radcliff, although silent, both had complex expressions on their faces, looking like they thought the same as Phoebe – doubting that Nathalie Quinlan could be of any help with Master Cadmus.

Only Alfred Garland was looking at Phoebe as if she was an idiot!

He almost snapped back at Phoebe.

She said Ms. Quinlan wouldn’t be capable, couldn’t be better than Adelle Wafford?

Heh, what a laugh!

Ms. Quinlan was indeed more competent than Adelle Wafford, whom she mentioned.

Mr. Wilmar’s illness proved everything!

Didn’t the Wilmar Family also seek Adelle Wafford, but in the end, it was Ms. Quinlan who saved the day, not Adelle Wafford!

Ms. Quinlan was also the doctor from McKinney whom everyone on the Black Market sought after.

With that reputation, what was wrong with treating Master Cadmus?

Nathalie Quinlan too sensed Phoebe’s hostility, along with the skeptical looks from Brian and Wallace, clicked her tongue, concealed the mischievousness in her eyes, tugged at the brim of her hat, and coldly spoke up: ”Not available.”
