The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 657: Chapter 657: No one from Tsinghua University?_1

Clearing his throat, he said, ”I heard that Tsinghua University initially didn’t announce the rankings, planning to keep the results under wraps until after the college entrance examination. But after being pressured by several other high schools, they had no choice but to publish the joint examination results on their intranet early last night. You know it’s extremely difficult to get a perfect score on the college entrance exam itself. Since the inception of the exam, I’ve never heard of anyone achieving full marks. The joint exam organized by Tsinghua is notoriously tougher than the college entrance exam. And Nathalie Quinlan, she got a perfect score on that exam. Can you imagine how the other schools feel when they see a student like her?”

”We’ve been in education for so long, not to mention others; if No. 1 Middle School had a university-level program, wouldn’t you and I be moved by such a genius student?”

”So you see, every year there is a Top Scholar in the College Entrance Examination, and it changes annually. But a student like Nathalie Quinlan, you might not come across another in a hundred years! Do you understand the difference now?” After saying this, he foresightedly said to the head of academic affairs, ”I think more schools will come this afternoon. Let’s set a banquet at a nearby hotel at noon. With so many people coming, we can’t make them eat boxed lunches.”

With Nathalie Quinlan’s instant fame, No. 1 Middle School’s status in the eyes of universities nationwide is also bound to rise.

In the past, No. 1 Middle School was just a good school in the small locality of McKinney. After Nathalie Quinlan’s class, it would be considered a nationally famous high school!

Mr. Jones, the principal, was very pleased, merely wanting to handle this matter well and not disgrace the school.

”Alright, I’ll go handle it right away.” The head of academic affairs thought the same, nodded, and was about to step outside to make the phone call to book the banquet.

”Wait a moment.” Mr. Jones suddenly called to him, his relaxed brows furrowing again as he asked with concern, ”Has Tsinghua University sent anyone yet?”

Nathalie Quinlan’s goal is Tsinghua University, and the joint exam she took was theirs. With so many schools trying to poach their students, if Tsinghua cared about a student like Nathalie Quinlan, they would surely have sent someone.

The reminder made the head of academic affairs think, and the same concern appeared on his lean and dark face. Shaking his head, he and the principal looked at each other in dismay: ”I don’t recall having received teachers from Tsinghua...”

”...” So Tsinghua University hasn’t sent anyone?

Mr. Jones felt a sinking feeling in his heart, put the thermos down, unable to drink water anymore: ”How could Tsinghua not send anyone? All the other schools have sent representatives. The teachers from Southern University even arrived early this morning. Logically, Tsinghua shouldn’t be this quiet. This...”

This was too much of a disregard!

The head of academic affairs also felt uneasy, pursing his lips and could only think in a more optimistic way, ”Maybe someone will come in the afternoon. Let’s wait and see.”

He added, ”With such a score from Nathalie Quinlan, since Tsinghua initially kept the rankings secret, they definitely still care. They wouldn’t want to lose her to others, so it doesn’t make sense that they wouldn’t come this time.”

”That’s the only way to think about it,” Mr. Jones sighed, his heart heavy with worry. Privately, he still felt that Tsinghua was seriously undervaluing Nathalie Quinlan, and he worried about her future treatment if she entered Tsinghua.

The principal of the very Tsinghua University they were concerned about was currently pacing back and forth in a suite at the Narayan Hotel.

Every now and then, he glanced at the elder who sat there leisurely making tea, and finally, unable to contain his anxiety, he walked over quickly and asked with a face full of concern.

”Mr. Norton, when do we leave? Has Nathalie Quinlan not replied yet?”

Shawn Norton put this year’s freshly picked and roasted tea into his alabaster teapot and boiled another pot of water, pouring the steaming water to rinse the tea cup, looking completely calm and unhurried: ”No rush.”

Principal of Tsinghua University: ”...” You’re not in a hurry, but I am!
