The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 653: Chapter 653: The Student Who Was Sought After by Dozens of Universities_1

She also held other professional titles.

She could be said to be the busiest person in the entire Tsinghua University, with not even professors of the rank of Derliand Gober and Adelle Wafford comparable to the president of Tsinghua University; they were not in the same league.

After her surprise came curiosity, and she curiously asked the middle-aged man walking beside her, ”Professor Gober, do you know why the president came to McKinney?”

She had already made other plans in her heart.

Derliand Gober had not thought to conceal it from her, mainly because the internal education channels had already announced the examination results; everyone would be able to find out tomorrow, so it made no difference whether he hid it from Ivy Wilmar or not. He simply said, ”Nothing much. Just coming over to snatch a student.”

”Snatch a student?” Ivy Wilmar was puzzled.

She thought she had heard wrong.

Students always begged to attend Tsinghua University with tears, so was there really a student that needed the president of Tsinghua University to personally snatch away? Was it necessary?

That’s what she thought and what she asked: ”What kind of student is so outstanding that Tsinghua needs to snatch them?”

”This...”

Ivy Wilmar understood the situation, saying, ”Is it inconvenient for Professor Gober to say?”

Derliand Gober maintained the mystery and didn’t say, ”About that, I can’t reveal the student’s name at the moment. You will know tomorrow.”

When Ghania Quinlan heard him say this, she thought of someone; her face turned pale, she clutched her handbag tightly, her heart felt uneasy, and her lips lost much of their color.

Ivy Wilmar had no idea that Nathalie Quinlan had been accepted to Tsinghua University and was also clueless about Nathalie’s academic performance; she didn’t head in that direction with her thoughts. Derliand Gober had clearly stated it was inconvenient to reveal the name, so she didn’t persist in asking. She smiled and suggested, ”I didn’t know the president of Tsinghua University was also visiting McKinney. Since the president is here, I’d like to invite Ghania and the president to have dinner tonight, after all, Ghania will also be part of Tsinghua’s student body. It wouldn’t be right for her not to offer her greetings and clean the dust off for the president’s visit to McKinney. Professor Gober, what do you think?”

Her words sounded polite, but beyond the pleasantries, she wanted to invite the president to dinner through Professor Gober.

Derliand Gober understood her intent but didn’t agree directly, only saying, ”About that... Mr. Wilmar, I can’t promise you directly. We’ll have to see at the time.”

Out of respect for Ivy Wilmar’s background.

He further explained, ”This time, we expect there will be delegates from dozens of schools visiting McKinney, and the president might not have time in the evening.”

”...Dozens of schools will be sending representatives?”

Ivy Wilmar was genuinely surprised now.

What kind of student was this?

The scale of this was enormous!

This kind of presence was like snatching the Top Scholar in the College Entrance Examination, but weren’t the national college entrance exams not over yet?

She failed to notice Ghania’s face turn another shade paler, and her expression became increasingly troubled.

It couldn’t be that they were coming for Nathalie Quinlan, could it...

”Yes.” Derliand Gober nodded, not concealing anything from her, ”Anyway, this time everyone is determined to succeed. The president coming in person surely wants to keep the person at our Tsinghua. We’ll just have to see. I’ll ask the president later if he has time. If he’s available, I’ll set up a meeting with him; if not, that can’t be helped...”

Taking a deep breath, Ivy Wilmar’s expression was quite complex. She nodded, no longer making things difficult for him, and said softly, ”Then I’ll have to trouble Professor Gober.”

In her heart, however, she was astounded and secretly speculated about who this student was that had dozens of high-ranking schools collecting in McKinney to recruit.

Meanwhile, Nathalie Quinlan was woken up early in the morning by an endless stream of phone calls.

She hung up on three consecutive calls.

By the fourth, she was fully awake, with irritation in her eyes. She grabbed a handful of her messy hair, picked up the phone beside her, and glanced at the caller ID.
