Apocalypse: Goddess Catalog, Starting With Twin Sisters!

Chapter 21: Chapter 21: My Son, Wang Yan, Has the Potential to Save the World

This had definitely been the most comfortable period of Wang Kun’s life.

Before, he was just a lowly security chief, and the residents of this complex wouldn’t even give him a second glance.

But after the world changed, the gun in his hand made him the ruler of Building 1!

The beautiful neighboring wives who used to look down on him were now kneeling at his feet.

Today, for instance, he was being accompanied by two young married women from downstairs.

The thought that an internet celebrity would be joining them later made Wang Kun ecstatic.

In a fit of excitement, he was reaching the final stage, but to his utter disbelief... at this critical, final moment, someone had to go and fire a fucking gun!!!

”AHHH!!!!”

”WHAT THE FUCK!!!”

”WHO THE HELL WAS THAT?!?!”

Wang Kun was about to explode with rage!

His face was so dark and menacing that the two young women turned pale with fright.

”Should... should we continue...”

Wang Kun’s face turned green. Continue? Continue my ass! It was already over!

Whether he’d ever be able to get it up again was now a serious question!

He shoved the two women aside, pulled out his pistol, and stormed out with a murderous expression.

Meanwhile, Mengde’s gunshot had drawn everyone on the 19th floor out of their rooms.

However, none of them were in a good mood. They all looked ready to kill.

And really, what man could tolerate an interruption like that???

The moment they came out, they saw a man and a woman sitting on the sofa.

The man was handsome, the woman enchanting!

Wang Kun recognized them immediately.

The woman was none other than the internet celebrity, Cheng Ying—a woman he had already claimed for himself. As for the man...

”Holy shit! It’s you, Mengde!”

”You fucking delivery boy! You have a death wish, firing your gun in my territory?!?”

They were all from the same residential complex. Back when Mengde was a deliveryman, he had often been given a hard time by Wang Kun and his gang of security guards.

Naturally, Mengde had no kind words for him either.

”Well, if it isn’t Brother Kun? It’s only been a few days. How’d you get so lame?”

Even surrounded, Mengde remained perfectly relaxed.

He toyed with the Desert Eagle in his left hand, and with his right, he pulled Cheng Ying into his lap.

Don’t get the wrong idea. It was mainly because the woman was frightened by the sight of so many vicious-looking men.

This actually helped calm her down a bit.

Cheng Ying didn’t resist.

Leaning against this man’s chest really did make her feel less afraid.

It was strange. Though they had only just met, this man always gave her a sense of security that she couldn’t help but lose herself in.

Mengde’s taunt made Brother Kun’s face darken even further.

’Ever since the apocalypse began, anyone who dared to disrespect me has ended up dead.’

Not to mention Cheng Ying, a woman he already considered his, was now nestled in another man’s arms.

’Damn it, that brat Mengde...’

If he weren’t wary of the gun in Mengde’s hand, he would have opened fire long ago.

”Spit it out! What the hell do you want, kid?”

But Mengde didn’t answer him. Instead, he said cheerfully,

”So everyone’s here!”

”Perfect! Point out the ones who murdered your husband...”

’So domineering...’

[Ding! Congratulations, Host! Goddess Cheng Ying’s Affinity has increased by 5. Current Affinity: 25!]

The moment Mengde spoke, the atmosphere on the floor changed instantly.

Because quite a few of the men present had been among those who broke into Cheng Ying’s home.

”You’re here to stick up for this bitch?”

Wang Kun finally realized something was wrong.

’No wonder it took so long for my man to go down and grab a woman. He’s probably been dead for a while now.’

But Mengde paid him no mind. As soon as Cheng Ying raised her finger and pointed out the first person,

BANG!

A gunshot rang out, and one of the goons dropped to the floor.

Wang Kun never imagined that Mengde would dare to open fire at such close range.

’Does he really think he’s the only one with a gun?!’

’Isn’t he afraid of dying?!’

Just as he was about to curse...

BANG!

Another shot. A bullet grazed Wang Kun’s ear and hit the goon standing next to him.

Wang Kun couldn’t take it anymore. He let out a furious roar.

”Brothers, chop him to pieces!”

He didn’t even need to give the order; his goons were already charging forward.

He himself pulled out his gun, his face twisted into a vicious sneer.

”Go to hell, you little punk!”

A shot was fired, and a bullet flew straight toward Mengde.

Before Mengde could even react, Cheng Ying, in his arms, instinctively shut her eyes.

Without thinking, her body moved to shield Mengde.

”Watch out!”

Seeing this, Mengde smiled faintly and patted her shoulder gently.

”It’s okay!”

Cheng Ying had been sure she was dead. But when she opened her eyes, she saw that she was completely unharmed. Instead, the goon who had been charging at the very front had been taken out.

’What just happened?’

Cheng Ying was completely bewildered. ’Can bullets curve?’

Across from them, Wang Kun, who had just fired the shot, was also stunned.

’I was clearly aiming for that brat Mengde. How did I hit one of my own men?’

In disbelief, he fired a few more shots. Unsurprisingly, every single one of his charging goons was taken down by his own bullets.

It got to the point where his remaining goons could barely resist the urge to chop *him* up instead.

’What kind of shitty marksmanship is this, Boss?!’

”Boss, try aiming at the kid!”

”Why do you keep shooting us?!”

Wang Kun was completely dumbfounded. Flustered and enraged, he roared,

”Mengde, what kind of black magic are you using?”

Mengde just smiled without answering.

’Are you kidding? With my Space Black Hole’s Absolute Defense, if you could actually hit me, what would be the point of defending at all?’

Seeing Mengde continue to fire with impunity, Wang Kun, unable to grasp the situation, didn’t dare shoot again. He quickly sent someone to fetch his son.

A few days ago, his son had suddenly awakened a strange ability.

He could create Flame out of thin air. His son deserved most of the credit for them being able to drive back the zombies these past few days.

The only problem was that the kid wasn’t all there in the head. He had a serious case of main-character syndrome, constantly dreaming of saving the world.

’Save the world... save the world my ass!’

So, Wang Kun got a headache just thinking about his brain-dead son. He usually didn’t let him out in public to avoid embarrassment, but that didn’t stop him from using the boy to try and intimidate Mengde now.

”Mengde! If you leave now, I can pretend none of this ever happened.”

”Otherwise, you’re finished once my son gets here!”

”I’m not afraid to tell you, my son Wang Yan has the potential to save the world!”

”Once he makes his move, it’s over for you!”

???

Mengde felt like he’d heard that line somewhere before.

’Well, I’ll be damned!’

’The last person who had something like that said about them was a Great Emperor, wasn’t he?!’

’Hold on, this is supposed to be an Otherworld. How did I still get tangled up in the karma of a Red-Haired Monster?!’

’This is just ridiculous!!!’

Amused, Mengde fired off a few more shots. ”BANG! BANG!”

A few more goons were taken down.

Wang Kun’s face turned green again, but he could only watch.

This feeling—having a gun but not being able to use it because firing it only killed his own men—was truly agonizing!

Before long, his goons were all completely wiped out.

He couldn’t stand it any longer.

’Now I can finally shoot, right?!’

”AHHH!!!”

With a furious roar, Brother Kun stood up, ready to unload his clip into Mengde... but just then, a ball of Flame came flying straight at him.

”Dad, I’m here!”

”Are you dead yet?”

Mengde: ”......”

Wang Kun: ”You fucking filial son!”

Mengde: ”!!!”
