Apocalypse: Goddess Catalog, Starting With Twin Sisters!

Chapter 18: Chapter 18: Putting the Facts Aside, Are You Not at Fault?

Building 6 was at the very back of the Jinxiu Garden District, over a hundred meters from Building 1.

Fortunately, for the current Mengde, this wasn’t an issue.

’That woman should be in Room 1302.’

He’d figured as much before he came.

He kicked open the main door of Building 6, and the zombies inside immediately swarmed him at the sound.

In his current state, as long as no zombies with an Awakened Superpower appeared, they posed no threat to him.

But what surprised him was the sheer number of them. ’There are way too many zombies here, almost enough to fill an entire building.’

He killed one wave, only for another to take its place. Looking up, he couldn’t see the end of the horde.

Moreover, the ground was littered with bodies burned beyond recognition, and the walls were covered in black scorch marks.

Although he had Viral Immunity, getting bitten would still be a hassle if he were swarmed by a large horde.

So, he decisively drew his suppressed Desert Eagle Handgun, took a favorable position, and began to calmly pick them off one by one....

Meanwhile, in Room 1302 on the 13th floor, a woman holding a fruit knife was in a standoff with several burly men who had broken into her room.

The woman was stunningly beautiful. Her hair was slightly disheveled, which only added to her alluring charm.

Though she looked a bit haggard, it did nothing to diminish her peerless beauty.

The woman’s name was Cheng Ying, a streamer with tens of millions of followers across the web.

Her outstanding looks, combined with a simple yet professional outfit, had made her an overnight sensation, causing her to go viral across the internet.

She attracted the attention of a host of perverts... ahem, I mean, handsome Yanzus.

She gained ten million followers overnight!

But right now, Cheng Ying’s face was filled with panic.

Just a few days ago, she and her husband had gotten their marriage certificate.

They had planned to find a quiet place and create a cozy, peaceful little home for themselves.

But just as they had finished setting it up, the apocalypse arrived!

In a desperate plea for help, she had hung out that white bedsheet.

But before any rescue could arrive, a group of survivors led by Wang Kun had burst in like bandits, stealing all of their food.

They even wanted her to ”warm his bed.”

Her husband was killed by this group while trying to protect her.

And the group’s leader, Wang Kun, had given her a three-day ultimatum.

Today was the final day of that ultimatum.

The men who had broken in were Wang Kun’s henchmen, and they were here today to force her to submit.

”Cheng Ying, where do you think you can run?”

”The three days are up. Today, you’ll agree whether you want to or not.”

”Brother Kun said that as long as you agree to be his woman, he’ll guarantee your safety and you’ll never have to worry about food or drink!”

”If you don’t know what’s good for you, then we’ll have to do this the hard way.”

”And if you get hurt, don’t blame us! Heh heh heh!”

The burly men’s lecherous gazes shamelessly roved over Cheng Ying’s body.

’Damn, this woman is a total knockout! If Brother Kun hadn’t called dibs and insisted on playing the hypocrite, trying to make her ”willingly” climb into his bed, we would’ve just taken her for ourselves right here and now.’

’In all our lives, we’d never seen a woman with this kind of charm!’

’Once Brother Kun is done with her, we’ll get to have some fun too.’

”No, impossible. I, Cheng Ying, would rather die than agree to his demands.”

”Wang Kun killed my husband! The police won’t let you get away with this!”

As she spoke, Cheng Ying’s eyes were filled with hatred.

She would never forget the wretched sight of her husband dying in front of her.

If not for the sliver of hope she still clung to, she would have followed her husband in death long ago.

”Xiaoying, you should just give in and go with Brother Kun.”

”It’s the apocalypse now. If you’re with Brother Kun, you can live well. What’s there to even think about?”

”Your husband is already dead! You should start thinking more about yourself!”

The one who spoke was the only woman among the group that had broken in, and she had once been Cheng Ying’s best friend.

But compared to Cheng Ying’s beauty, this woman named Wang Dan was a far cry.

She had a pointy, plastic-surgery ”internet celebrity” face that made her look sharp-tongued and mean.

This time, she was also acting on Brother Kun’s orders to come and persuade Cheng Ying.

If Cheng Ying didn’t agree, she would also have to face the consequences.

”Wang Dan, this is all your fault!”

”If you hadn’t colluded with Wang Kun and his men, my husband wouldn’t have died!”

”How dare you even speak to me!”

Cheng Ying roared furiously. It was her supposed best friend who had secretly opened the door and let Wang Kun and his men in.

”Hmph! And why shouldn’t I?”

”Setting the facts aside, aren’t you at fault too? Isn’t it a problem that you’re prettier than me?”

”I’m just trying to survive.”

”In this apocalypse, following Brother Kun is the only way to live!”

”Besides, I’m your best friend! Even if you won’t do it for yourself, can’t you just make a small sacrifice for your bestie and spend one night with Brother Kun? What’s the big deal?”

Wang Dan said nonchalantly.

Long before the apocalypse, she often ”played games” in hotels with her top donors.

After the apocalypse arrived, the number of people she ”played games” with only increased.

And sometimes, it was with multiple people at once; that wasn’t unheard of either.

She had stopped caring long ago. In this apocalypse, just being alive was good enough.

’Only a stupid woman like Cheng Ying would be so dumb as to stay loyal to a dead man.’

’Besides, we’re all women. What’s the difference between ”playing games” with one person or two?’

’None!’

Hearing Wang Dan’s words, Cheng Ying stared in disbelief, her beautiful eyes wide.

She never would have imagined that the best friend she had known for so long could spout such top-tier, ”spoiled princess” garbage.

She was so angry she was momentarily stunned speechless.

’But Wang Dan didn’t care. Another woman joining would relieve some of the ”pressure” on her, wouldn’t it?’

So she turned and ordered the burly men.

”Hurry up and take this bitch away. Don’t keep Brother Kun waiting.”

’After so long in the apocalypse, she’d come to see herself as Brother Kun’s ”Lady of the Stronghold”!’

But in the next second, a SLAP shattered her beautiful fantasy.

”Fuck off! A cheap slut that everyone can ride dares to order me around? Get lost!”

One of the burly men slapped Wang Dan without hesitation, hitting her so hard she didn’t dare make a sound.

Then, they turned to Cheng Ying, their faces full of lewd smiles.

”Cheng Ying, what do you say? Should we do it, or will you come willingly?”

”When we get our hands on you, we don’t know how to be gentle! Hahaha!”

As they spoke, they kept reaching for Cheng Ying, eager to get a taste of this woman.

Cheng Ying retreated again and again, until her back was to the window.

The bedsheet she had hung out as a distress signal was clearly visible by the window.

A tragic smile appeared on Cheng Ying’s face.

’So I won’t be able to get my revenge after all?’
