Apocalypse: Goddess Catalog, Starting With Twin Sisters!

Chapter 7: Chapter 7: Fail to Pay and You’ll Bleed, He Is Brother Dao, Wang Dalong

Suddenly, Mengde spotted an SOS signal on a white bedsheet hanging from Building 6, across from him.

It was probably a woman, since the letters were written in lipstick.

’There are survivors in Building 6!’

Mengde thought for a moment but decided not to head over right away.

’Gathering supplies is the priority today.’

’I’ll go check it out later if I have time.’

He didn’t mind making a trip to collect a Goddess... ahem, to *rescue* a homeless Goddess.

After clearing the zombies from the upper floors, Mengde began to sweep his way down.

As he went floor by floor, he discovered there were hardly any other survivors in the building besides his own group.

That lifted a weight off his shoulders.

Whenever he saw one, it was just SLASH SLASH SLASH, KILL KILL KILL!

After that flurry of activity, he had cleared out all the zombies in the entire building.

To prevent the stench that would come with the warmer weather, he immediately tossed the zombie corpses out of the building as he killed them.

After all, he planned to live here for a while.

He didn’t want the stench to make the place unlivable.

After collecting all the supplies, his 100-cubic-meter space was already more than half full.

’Might as well loot the community supermarket while I’m at it!’

In the apocalypse, Mengde could never have too many daily necessities.

Just like with a Goddess, the more the merrier!

The residential district had six buildings in total.

His building, Building 5, was located toward the back of the complex. The supermarket at the entrance was almost two hundred meters away.

Mengde wasn’t afraid of zombies, but he didn’t want to be swarmed by them either.

So, he shot past the zombies on the road at a speed that would leave Usain Bolt, the fastest man in the world, in the dust.

If you wanted to know how fast he was, you’d have to ask a certain kind of ”one-pump-chump”...

He was as fast as a one-pump-chump is quick!

Of course, that didn’t apply to certain other... combat situations!

Along the way, he slit the throats of a few unlucky zombies he happened to bump into.

But the moment he reached the supermarket entrance, Mengde felt that something was off.

’Hm? Has someone been here?’

The supermarket’s back door had been broken down.

It was most likely done by people from within the Jinxiu Garden District.

The community supermarket had been specifically designed with two entrances.

One faced the outside street, and the other faced inward for the convenience of the residents.

There were four bodies on the floor.

They looked like former employees of the supermarket.

It was a 24-hour supermarket, so it wasn’t surprising that a few employees would have been here.

’Looks like someone beat me to it!’

Mengde wasn’t surprised. With six buildings and nearly a thousand residents in the Jinxiu Garden District, it was inevitable that some would have luckily survived.

It was only natural.

Entering the supermarket, he saw that several shelves had already been emptied.

Most of what was taken were things like snacks and other easy-to-carry items.

Staples like rice and other essential supplies were still there.

’Heh heh, all the better for me!’

Compared to flashy but impractical things like snacks, he much preferred these staples that could actually fill a stomach.

The former was for flavor at best, but the latter could save your life.

The community supermarket was quite large.

But empowered by his Space Superpower, he sucked the contents of shelf after shelf into his Personal Space.

To make retrieving the goods easier, he took the shelves and all, saving himself the trouble of sorting everything later.

In just a few moments, the supermarket was licked clean, spotless as could be.

He even dismantled the generator from the supermarket’s storeroom.

He estimated that a major blackout was imminent.

The fact that the power had stayed on for this long in the apocalypse was a testament to Hua Country’s world-class electricity generation.

When the power did go out, this generator would come in handy.

’This haul is all mine!’

Mengde happily accepted his spoils, not even sparing a barrel of gasoline off to the side.

In the apocalypse, these were all scarce resources!

After stowing the generator, his Personal Space was just about full.

’Alright, time to head back!’

’A very fruitful haul!’

Mengde was very satisfied with his handiwork.

”Softly I am leaving, just as softly I came; I gently wave my sleeve, not taking away a single cloud.”

In his excellent mood, he even recited a poem by the great Poet Xu.

But just as he turned to leave, seven or eight people appeared at the supermarket entrance, walking right toward him.

They had come to haul away supplies, but when they reached the entrance, they saw that the supermarket—fully stocked just a short while ago—was now completely empty.

The men thought their eyes were playing tricks on them. But when a second look confirmed the entire supermarket was bare, they flew into a rage.

”Dammit! Who told you you could touch this stuff?”

”This all belongs to Brother Dao! Are you tired of living, messing with Brother Dao’s things?”

”Spit it all out, now!”

”Or I’ll fucking kill you!”

The rowdy group, armed with knives and clubs, cornered Mengde at the entrance.

They didn’t understand how the supplies had vanished, but they knew it had to be this guy’s doing.

’Brother Dao?’

Mengde recalled that there was indeed a man called Brother Dao in the area—a gangster who ran a casino and worked as a loan shark.

Don’t pay your debts, and you’ll be seeing red. That’s Brother Dao, Wang Dalong!

Brother Dao was notoriously ruthless. Word was, many who borrowed from him and couldn’t pay up were forced to ”make a charitable donation” of all their blood. Some business owners were even hounded by him until they jumped off buildings.

As for the women... they were either raped by him and then his men, or forced into prostitution under his watch to pay off their debts.

In short, no one who crossed him, man or woman, ever came to a good end.

Mengde was surprised that this piece of scum was still alive.

And from the looks of it, he was living quite comfortably, even in the apocalypse.

’The good die young, but a scourge lasts a thousand years,’ he thought.

Now that he understood who these people were, Mengde didn’t want to waste any more time on them.

Wouldn’t it be better to go home and cuddle with his Goddess in bed?

He had a pair of beautiful sisters waiting for him at home, after all.

”You saw me take the supplies, didn’t you?”

The men were still cursing up a storm when Mengde suddenly uttered a bizarre, chilling question.

”Wh-what?”

Before their seven or eight brains could even process it, they saw Mengde nod as if answering his own question.

”You must have.”

”According to the Elimination Principle, spying on me is the same as probing my strength, and probing my strength means you intend to harm me!”

”I guess I can’t let you live!”

With that, Mengde drew his Tang Blade and beckoned at them with his index finger.

”Fuck! He’s making a move!”

”Brothers, get him! Hack him to pieces!”

The seven or eight men swarmed him. They looked imposing, but to a Superpower User like Mengde, they were nothing more than sitting ducks.

Dealing with these ordinary people was almost too easy.

In no time at all, he had them all screaming for their mothers, wishing they’d been born with an extra leg to run away. In a final act of ”mercy,” he sent them all on their way...

His combat prowess was simply terrifying.

And not far away, by a window in Building 1, a man stood stunned by Mengde’s terrifying display of power.

”Holy shit, when did that kid Mengde get so damn strong?”
