Quick Transmigration: The Cannon Fodder's Comeback in the Era Tales

Chapter 696: Chapter 696: Fleeing Famine 1

This is an alternate small world.

This small world also faces a three-year drought.

This time, Yuan Chun transmigrated into the body of an old woman, and she was on the road fleeing famine.

The original host, Ding Yuanchun, lost her husband early. She raised her two sons into adulthood on her own, and married them each to a wife.

Her eldest son, Geng Dazhuang, married a local girl, Du Jincui, and they had a son and a daughter: the son, Geng Xiaowu, is ten years old this year, and the daughter, Geng Xiaoyu, is seven years old.

Her second son, Geng Dalin, married an orphan from the neighboring village, Sun Chunfeng. They had twin daughters, Geng Xiaozen and Geng Xiaoling, who are seven years old this year, and their second child is a son, Geng Xiaowen, who is just five years old.

The original host’s family is simple, living an ordinary life. Although the eldest couple often shirk work, they didn’t go too far, which the original host turned a blind eye to.

The original host thought she could see the end of her life clearly—it would be like this until the grandchildren grew up a bit, then she would split the family property between her sons, and live with her eldest son.

But soon, a severe drought arrived.

The village crops failed, and the villagers, left with nothing to eat, were forced to leave their homes and flee famine.

On the road fleeing famine, Geng Dazhuang and Du Jincui’s selfishness gradually revealed itself. They actually colluded with the Du Family to secretly kidnap Geng Xiaozen and Geng Xiaoling.

After the two little girls were gone, Geng Dazhuang and Du Jincui set their sights on Geng Xiaowen. However, because of their daughters’ disappearance, Geng Dalin and Sun Chunfeng kept their son close, not letting him leave their side for a moment.

Geng Dazhuang and Du Jincui were so hungry their eyes turned green, wishing they could cook and eat Geng Dalin’s family of three.

Finally, one day, Geng Dazhuang found an opportunity to kidnap Geng Xiaowen, but was promptly discovered by Geng Dalin.

Geng Dalin chased after them but was attacked by Du Jincui’s three brothers.

Geng Dalin was beaten to death by the members of the Du Family.

The original host found that her grandson and second son were missing, she searched for them and discovered Geng Dalin’s corpse, not far from there, the Du Family was secretly cooking something to eat.

The smell was very fragrant.

The original host realized something and rushed at the Du Family madly.

An old woman like the original host was no match for the Du Family.

Like Geng Dalin, the original host was killed to silence her.

Sun Chunfeng was sold by Du Jincui to a fifty-something old bachelor.

After the original host and the second branch were gone, the Du Family targeted Geng Xiaowu and Geng Xiaoyu. While Geng Dazhuang and Du Jincui were collecting firewood, the Du Family abducted the siblings.

Their fate was the same as the other three Geng children.

...

”Host, the original host’s wish is to protect Geng Dalin, Sun Chunfeng, and five grandchildren, and to ensure that Geng Dazhuang, Du Jincui, and the Du Family die horrible deaths.”

Yuan Chun finished reading the memories and plot, feeling unbearably pained for a long, long time.

In just over a month of fleeing famine, the original host’s family of ten was reduced to just Geng Dazhuang and Du Jincui because of their collusion with the Du Family.

The family was destroyed.

Yuan Chun let out a long sigh, promising, ”Tell the original host that I will definitely protect the people she wants to protect. I guarantee that not a single one of her grandchildren will be lost.”

”Host, good luck.”

raised a paw.

Today is the third day of fleeing famine. The original host’s family has only a small bag of bran and a small bundle of grass roots left. The grass roots are saved for the children, and the adults only eat a few bites of bran.

It’s dry, and when swallowed, hard to digest.

There isn’t even any water.

The original host’s lips are cracked and bleeding, painfully hurt.

After Yuan Chun accepted the memories, she felt as if her throat was on fire painfully, perhaps it was cut by swallowing bran, she coughed a couple of times, put a finger in her mouth, and a thin stream of water trickled from her fingertip slowly into her belly.

After drinking for two minutes, filling with water, she silently swallowed a Revitalizing Pill.

The original host’s body was very weak, severely depleted. Even if she doesn’t die at the hands of the Du Family in two months, she won’t live long.
