Quick Transmigration: The Cannon Fodder's Comeback in the Era Tales

Chapter 652: Chapter 652: The Real and Fake Heiress 45

”This is the Cao Family. May I ask who you’re looking for?” the guard asked again.

Lin Guowen replied, ”I’m Yuan Chun’s father, Lin Guowen. I’m here to see Yuan Chun and my grandchildren.”

Before coming, Lin Guowen had already investigated that Yuan Chun got married, and her husband’s family was the affluent, noble Cao family. Yuan Chun had given birth to a pair of twins for the Cao Family.

Originally, he thought an illiterate village girl wouldn’t be of much use to him, so he abandoned his biological daughter quite readily. But now, he regretted it.

Regret for not realizing earlier.

If he had known Yuan Chun would have such great fortune and could marry the only grandson of Mr. Cao, he would have treated Yuan Chun very, very well.

Unfortunately, there’s no ”if only” in this world.

Lin Guowen came with a thick face to recognize his family ties. He wasn’t alone; he brought along a secretary and an assistant, both with hands full of gifts.

The guard finally recognized Lin Guowen, this big entrepreneur who often appeared on TV and in newspapers. He took a look at Lin, and said coldly, ”Mr. Lin, please wait a moment. I’ll go inside and ask the chief and the young lady.”

”Alright, alright, sorry to trouble you, young comrade.”

With a thud, the guard closed the door and went to find the old chief.

Grandpa Cao listened to his report and said, ”Go ask the young lady. If the young lady still acknowledges this father, then let him in. If she doesn’t acknowledge this father, then treat him as a stranger.”

”Yes, chief.”

The guard went to knock on the door of the pharmacy.

Most of Yuan Chun’s days were spent in the pharmacy, researching formulas or making various pills and medicinal dishes. At that moment, she was making pills, and it was at a crucial time.

She heard the knocking and said, ”The door’s not locked, push it open yourself.”

The door opened, and the guard glanced at the pharmacy filled with various equipment and medicinal materials. He didn’t enter, just stood at the doorway and reported, ”Young lady, Mr. Lin Guowen has come to pay a family visit; he’s waiting at the gate. The chief asked me to find out if you want to let him in?”

Yuan Chun didn’t lift her head, continuing with what she was doing, and asked, ”What family visit? The Cao Family and the Lin family have no familial relations. I also have no father. I have no ties with the Lin Family. Lin Guowen never raised me for a day; the couple from the Wang family who raised me were child traffickers and are criminals. Legally, I have no relationship with either the Wang Family or the Lin family.”

”Young lady, then... shall I ask Mr. Lin to leave?”

”Yes, please, and thank Zhang.”

”No trouble at all.”

The guard saluted and then closed the door.

Lin Guowen waited outside for a long time, getting increasingly impatient. When the guard came out to tell him that the Cao Family didn’t recognize him as family, Lin Guowen felt resentment towards his ungrateful biological daughter, Yuan Chun.

He could come to see her, was giving her face; he didn’t expect she wouldn’t acknowledge him.

Who gave her such gall? He was, after all, her biological father.

Blood is thicker than water.

Does she think, just because she’s become the young lady of the Cao family, she can put on airs and act like she doesn’t care about anyone?

And she doesn’t even consider, as an illiterate village girl, would the Cao Family really value her?

If she didn’t have a respectable maternal family, would the Cao Family look up to her, a village girl? Lin Guowen held back a bellyful of anger and grievance, but dared not vent it on the guard, only giving a smiley face saying, ”It’s all my fault as her father, it’s my mistake. If the child doesn’t forgive me, I understand. I’ll come see her again after some time.”
