Both Zhang Fei and Xu Chu immediately targeted Lu Bu, attacking him together at the same time making Lu Bu have no choice but to take them head on. He already knew about Xu Chu, but Zhang Fei’s strength truly surprised him as he was on the same level as Dian Wei and Xu Chu, making him had to face this seriously.

Lu Bu facing off against both Zhang Fei and Xu Chu caused his raid attack on Cao Cao and Liu Bei’s camp to be slowed down, it should have been a lightning-quick attack but Xu Chu and Zhang Fei’s presence slowed it down.

Zhang Liao and Cheng Lian who saw this situation rushed up to help Lu Bu, but Lu Bu ordered them to fall back and lead the Bingzhou Wolf Cavalry to retreat while he fought off Xu Chu and Zhang Fei.

Zhang Liao and Cheng Lian could only obey Lu Bu’s orders, maybe this is one of the reasons why Zhang Liao’s true prowess was fully shown during his service to Lu Bu, he was suppressed by Lu Bu’s fame.

Even though Zhang Liao has great prowess, what truly makes him even more powerful is his sense of discipline and duty, which is why he entered the rank of Wei Five Tiger Generals under Cao Cao’s rule.

Zhang Fei and Xu Chu have tremendous prowess, together they fight Lu Bu toe to toe only using their might, Lu Bu can fight them both at the same time, relying on his prowess and martial arts skills.

Zhang Fei and Xu Chu’s presence allows the rest of Cao Cao and Liu Bei’s generals to lead their units to repel Lu Bu’s attack, sensing that their plan had failed Lu Bu let out all of his might stunning Zhang Fei and Xu Chu.

Zhang Fei and Xu Chu both feel their hand numb when receiving Lu Bu’s attack, they are stunned for a while as they feel like Lu Bu’s strength has improved from their previous encounter, especially Xu Chu’s who have the earliest encounter between the two.

Zhang Liao and Cheng Lian have managed to gather all of the Bingzhou Wolf Cavalry, seeing that Lu Bu is preparing to retreat after stunning both Zhang Fei and Xu Chu, Zhang Liao rides toward him to give support.

The support from Zhang Liao helped Lu Bu to finally lift off the siege from Zhang Fei and Xu Chu, and then they managed to retreat alongside Cheng Lian and the Bingzhou Wolf Cavalry, avoiding the encirclement from Cao Cao and Liu Bei’s army.

Even though the plan to burn Cao Cao and Liu Beu’s supplies failed, Lu Bu at least managed to reduce the morale of Cao Cao and Liu Bei’s army with the attack, due to them having to be on alert, reducing their sleep time.

This causes Cao Cao and Liu Bei to both decide to hold off the attack for another day, while it’s the prelude to the battle between Cao Cao and Liu Bei against Lu Bu, at the South in Yang Province, Group B of Lie Fan’s army managed to conquer Wanling after half a month siege.

Wanling is the capital of Wanling County, so it was a great feat for Group Army B under Huang Zhong as it could serve as a supply point for them with Jianye County to the north, as it was near the northern border.

Huang Zhong then convened with Dian Wei and Zhang Chao alongside their advisors, trying to formulate a plan where each army would split and subjugate Wanling County faster.

Huang Zhong: ”Dian Wei you will lead the Baihu Army with Chen Deng toward the Southwest of Wanling, Zhang Chao you will lead the Xuanwu Army with Zang Hong toward the Southeast of Wanling, whole I alongside Liu Ba will lead the Qinlong Army to add the South of Wanling, any question?”

Chen Deng: ”Yes I have General Huang, where will we meet up after we manage to subjugate our area? I suggest that we meet up at your last point of location, so you need to inform us.”

Zang Hong: ”I agree with Master Chen’s suggestion, but I also would like to implore that we need to consolidate Our Lord’s rule over each town, so please at least spend a day or so at each town to ensure Our Lord’s rule, what do you think Master Liu?”

Liu Ba: ”Hmm I agree with both suggestions from Master Chen and Master Zang, I will inform you of our last location after we manage to subjugate the town, as for consolidating Our Lord’s rule spend a day no more than that, as Lord Lie Fan have told us that we need to be fast.”

Zhang Chao: ”Then we just need to ensure the important parts of the town and influential people of each town fall in line, letting them handle the rest of our matters what do you think?”

Dian Wei: ”Haha I agree with General Zhang, it’s a simple plan that I understand, I don’t want to burden Master Chen more with my naivety in strategizing.”

Huang Zhong: ”Alright then we will follow what Master Liu, Master Chen, and Master Zang suggest alongside General Zhang’s idea, I hope that in one month to two months, we can meet at the southern border with everything done.”

With Huang Zhong’s closing statement, everyone dismissed themselves from the meeting to prepare their army, resting for a day at Wanling, and then they left Wanling for their assigned assignment.

The next day after the meeting, Huang Zhong, Dian Wei, and Zhang Chao each led their army toward their target area, where they began their contest over the entirety of Wanling County.

Huang Zhong and Liu Ba who head toward the South of Wanling began to conquer each Town and village that was on their way, resting and consolidating Lie Fan’s rule after they creature the Towns and Villages.

Huang Zhong and The Qinlong Army speed was the fastest, Dian Wei and The Baihu Army was the Second, and The Third was Zhang Chao and The Xuanwu Army.

Liu Yao still hasn’t sent his main army to hold off Lie Fan’s advance, so even if Zhang Chao and The Xuanwu Army’s speed was the slowest, they could rest easy as there’s no challenge strong enough to slow them down even further.

All of this is happening in Wanling County, a party of people entered Wanling from the South not knowing that Lie Fan’s Conquest of Jianye County and Wanling had been done at the fastest speed possible, something that they hadn’t even expected.

This Party of People was Yu Fan and He Qi’s families and Clan Guards who were led by both Yu Fan and He Qi themselves, they tried to flee as far as they could from Liu Yao, Yu Mi, and Hua Xin’s possible pursuit.

Yu Fan and He Qi are staying in a small Town alongside their family, taking a rest and collecting energy and supplies for their next journey, to Dana He Qi plans to leave Yang Province altogether, heading toward a small port in Wanling County.

After that, they planned to head toward Liu Biao, where they planned to swear their allegiance to Liu Biao who was a neutral party and was a safer bet than both Sun Jian and Lie Fan in their opinion.

They at first planned to rest in this small town for a day or two, but after receiving complaints from their family, they relented and decided to extend their rest there for around a week or more.

This was a bad move from the two of them, as they were located in the center of Wanling County, and the Port they were heading toward was in the Northwest of Wanling County, if they headed there a week from now to more they were still safe from Dian Wei and The Baihu Army.

The problem is Huang Zhong and The Qinlong Army who advanced much faster than the other Two Army and their town were on Huang Zhong’s path, which Yu Fan and He Qi were oblivious of since they didn’t hold Liu Yao’s information network.

When they stayed for around a week, Yu Fan and He Qi decided that their rest was more than enough and planned to continue their journey tomorrow, the town was under attack from Huang Zhong and The Qinglong Army.

Since it was a small town, Huang Zhong and Liu Ba had the Qinlong Arny encircle the town, cutting off any stragglers that planned to flee the town, and blocking Yu Fan and He Qi from leasing their family to flee.

They don’t have anywhere to go now, both Yu Fan and He Qi could only blame themselves for not staying true to their conviction, and choosing to listen to their family which now leads them to this situation.

The Town Army could only hold off the Qinlong Army under Huang Zhong and Liu Ba lead for around 3 hours before succumbing to the onslaught, allowing Huang Zhong to capture the town.

Sensing that they have a chance to sneak off and flee from the town alongside their family, Yu Fan and He Qi do so leading their family toward the Western Gate, and when they arrive there they are met with Huang Zhong leading his unit waiting for them.

Huang Zhong: ”Master Yu Fan and General He Qi why leave so soon? Please stay with us, I and Master Liu Ba have prepared a feast for the two of you.”

Yu Fan: ”Haha General Huang is jesting, please allow us to leave the town, we are just trying to survive in this chaos.”

He Qi: ”What Master Yu Fan said is correct, we have been relinquished from our service by Liu Yao, so we aren’t worth anything to be featured by you General Huang.”

Huang Zhong: ”Oh? Master Yu Fan and General He Qi knew who I was. Looks like my reputation has reached even Yang Province haha!”

He Qi: ”Of course, we knew who General Huang was! Who doesn’t know one of the Heroes who defeated Lu Bu at Hulao Gate and one of the strongest generals under Lord Lie Fan.”

Huang Zhong: ”Haha then if the two of you knew who I am, then the two of you definitely knew that I can’t let the two of you go, you don’t want your family to be hurt now don’t you?”

When Huang Zhong says those words to Yu Fan and He Qi, the cavalries behind him raise their bows toward Yu Fan and He Qi’s caravan, and from the sides above the roof, Oriole Members show themselves holding Crossbows ready to fire.

Yu Fan and He Qi who saw this knew that they had entered a trap, one that they couldn’t escape from. Knowing that they could fight back with the number of men they had, and not wanting their family to be implicated, they finally allowed themselves to be ’invited’ by Huang Zhong toward the Mayor Castle.
