Next Lie Fan asked for the logistics and supply conditions of the army supplies, Ren Jun and Mi Zhu was the one who handled this. Ren Jun first said that they have a large amount of food, especially with the next harvest of potatoes on the corner. As for Money, Mi Zhu has checked the treasury and is sure that they are good to go.

Lie Fan asked Jia Xu for the Oriole in Yu Province to collect Military secrets and people who were discontent with Yuan Shu’s rule, maybe they could switch sides weakening Yuan Shu’s power.

Jia Xu saluted receiving the order, as Yi Ji, Yan Jun, and Zhuge Jin were confused about this oriole, seeing the confusion written on their face, Lie Fan explained to them what Oriole was and to not tell others about this, even their family.

Yi Ji, Yan Jun, and Zhuge Jin were surprised about the existence of Oriole, as this means Lie Fan had information about what was happening in all of the land.

This kind of power is too powerful, which means Lie Fan’s chance to defeat his enemies is easier than others’ defeating him, as he knows the enemy more than the enemies know him, Sun Tzu, Art Of War.

While Lie Fan and his retainers are discussing preparation for attacking Yuan Shu, there’s a final battle at Ye in Ji Province that will change the landscape of power in the north, whoever the winner will become the hegemon of Northern China.

Han Fu is inside his Castle, surrounded by his advisors and generals. The situation is tense now, as after a year of war between him against Yuan Shao and Gongsun Zan, Han Fu feels that his defeat is imminent.

Han Fu: ”What should we do now everyone? I need your help now more than ever.”

Shen Pei: ”My Lord our situation now is dire, Yuan Shao soldiers have cut off our supply and retreat path, Ye now is surrounded from all sides, with the supplies we have now we would not last long.”

Ju Shou: ”What Shen Pei just said is true My Lord, Yuan Shao is cutting us off from the outside world, the last piece of news I receive is Gongsun Zan rampaging on our northern territories. ”

Feng Ji: ”My Lord I actually have a suggestion, but I don’t know if you would accept me as your subordinate anymore if I say it.”

Han Fu: ”It’s okay Feng Ji you can just say it! I need suggestions, not just words of report!”

Feng Ji: ”Why don’t My Lord surrender to Lord Yuan Shao, joining his side and handing the governorship of Ji Province to Yuan Shao, while we exclude Gongsun Zan from receiving any land of Ji Province in exchange for our surrender.”

Zhang He: ”Preposterous! Feng Ji, you actually suggested our lord surrender to Yuan Shao?! Let me and Qu Yi lead our army to make a path for our Lord to flee Ye!”

Shen Pei: ”Zhang He what do you know?! Feng Ji’s words have some merit! and you just said making a path for Lord Han Fu to leave Ye, then where will Lord Han Fu go next? It’s more or less the same we are going to refugees at other Lords!”

Han Fu: ”Is there really no other way? Tian Feng and Ju Shou?”

Tian Feng: ”My Lord I agree with Feng Ji’s suggestion, the survival of Lord Han Fu and the Han Clan is more important than holding Ji Province now.”

Ju Shou: ”I disagree, My Lord, whatever happens, we can’t surrender!”

Han Fu stayed silent while his advisors and generals began to quarrel among themselves. Tian Feng, Shen Pei, and Feng Ji against Ju Shou, Zhang He, and Qu Yi. Each side has its argument, but it can be seen that Tian Feng’s side is winning.

Han Fu finally raised his hand, indicating that everyone to stay silent. Han Fi gave a heavy sigh and said that he agreed with Feng Ji’s plan for them to surrender to Yuan Shao.

This received massive protests from Ju Shou and his side, while Tian Feng and his side praised Han Fu for being magnanimous.

Han Fu says that he is sorry for being an incompetent Lord to them, Everyone immediately bows when they hear what Han Fu said, saying that it was them that was incompetent and can’t help him solve his worries.

Han Fu sent Feng Ji and Shen Pei as his envoy to Yuan Shao Camp, to declare his intention to surrender and that he wanted to make a deal with him, in exchange for him surrendering and submitting to Yuan Shao.

Shen Pei and Feng Ji bowed receiving the order, and together they left the hall. Ju Shou and Zhang He tried to change Han Fu’s mind for the last time, but Han Fu just waved his hand tiredly and asked for silence.

Tian Feng just sneered at Ju Shou, as Ju Shou is too righteous and honest for his own good. He doesn’t sugarcoat his words, so he sometimes offends people he talks with especially Han Fu.

What they don’t know is, that Tian Feng, Shen Pei, Feng Ji, and Qu Yi actually defected to Yuan Shao’s side long ago. They were dissatisfied with Han Fu’s rule and his passiveness in the Political Arena, so when Yuan Shao enticed them to defect, they agreed.

So when Feng Ji and Shen Pei arrived at Yuan Shao’s Camp, they were welcomed with a warm welcome by Yuan Shao. Yuan Shao asked them what the situation was in Ye, and does Han Fu agreed to surrender to his rule.

Feng Ji and Shen Pei excitedly say that Han Fufinalky agreed to surrender to Yuan Shao, saying that Han Fu wanted to meet with Yuan Shao, to broker a deal where Gongsun Zan would be excluded from Ji Province, as per Yuan Shao’s request to them.

Yuan Shao laughed out loud, praising them and Tian Feng as well as Qu Yi, promising them a promotion and for them to be his advisors. Shen Pei and Feng Ji excitedly bowed to Yuan Shao, calling him their Lord.

Due to Han Fu declaring his intention to surrender, the battle was hated and they entered a ceasefire. Yuan Shao accompanied by his advisors and generals entered Ye escorted by Shen Pei and Feng Ji, heading towards the Governor’s Castle.

Ju Shou at the last minute, is still persuading Han Fu to not surrender. Han Fu slowly becomes annoyed with Ju Shou’s persuasion, in a fit of anger he admonishes Ju Shou and banishes him from his service.

Ju Shou was surprised by Han Fu’s sudden outburst, he bowed and apologized to Han Fu for overstepping his bounds.

Han Fu doesn’t care for Ju Shou’s apology, he tells Ju Shou to leave and that if he does not leave Ye right now, he will let Yuan Shao execute him alongside his family.

Tian Feng at the side just looks at this without Steven batting their eye, and all of Han Fu’s general well former general doesn’t help Ju Shou, even Zhang He has grown silent after his 2nd attempt.

Ju Shou turns his head around, seeing that no one is willing to help him, he for the first time feels lonely as it turns out, no one ever treated him as part of Han Fu’s retainer.

Ju Shou bowed to Han Fu and left the hall, heading toward his residence to leave Ye with his family, Han Fu just looked at Ju Shou’s back melancholy.

Han Fu actually doesn’t want to do this, but he knows that among his retainers to the end only Ju Shou cares about his rule. He does this to save Ju Shou from receiving the same treatment in Yuan Shao’s Court.

Some minutes after Ju Shou left the hall, Yuan Shao and his retainers escorted by Shen Pei and Feng Ji arrived at the hall. Yuan Shao saw the suddenly looking old Han Fu give his signature smile, greeting Han Fu like they were old friends.

Han Fu: ”Yuan Shao you don’t need to greet me, I should have let you enter Ji Province before and oppose Dong Zhuo’s appointment.”

Yuan Shao: ”Haha what’s been done is done, you can’t change the past Han Fu. Now I come here as you requested, if you want to surrender why do we need to make a deal anyway?”

Han Fu: ”Humph this is my last deviance against you, the person I hate more than you is Gongsun Zan, and I will give you Ji Province and all of my retainers in exchange for Gongsun Zan not grieving any land at all.”

Yuan Shao: ”Preposterous! I have made a treaty with Gongsun Zan that I will give him some land from the Northern part of Ji Province.”

Han Fu: ”Don’t be a hypocrite, don’t think that I don’t know that you actually despise Gongsun Zan. You and him working together is only for benefit and now you will receive all of you agree to my deal.”

Guo Tu: ”My Lord, you should agree and accept this deal, the Han Central government’s power is waning, and only power is absolute. Not letting Gongsun Zan get our land, we stopped him from becoming more powerful, and we can defeat him easily in the future.”

Yuan Shao and Guo Tu are acting, playing a drama for Han Fu to see. Han Fu actually believed that Yuan Shao wanted to honor his treaty with Gongsun Zan, and when he heard what Guo Tu said he told Yuan Shao that this was the last he asked for him to agree to this deal.

So Yuan Shao finally ’reluctantly’ agreed to Han Fu’s deal, this signifies the end of Han Fu’s force and all of Han Fu’s retainers and soldiers join Yuan Shao’s side. Yuan Shao promised to treat Han Fu well, giving Han Fu the title of General Who Demonstrates Grand and Vigor Courage in Arms.

Han Fu accepted this happily, not knowing that he was actually trapped right now. Yuan Shao appointed Tian Feng, Shen Pei, Feng Ji, and Guo Tu to high positions in Ji Province administrations.

As for Han Fu’s army, Yuan Shao ordered them to be incorporated immediately, while Qu Yi and Zhang He were appointed as the Generals who would lead the soldiers who had served Han Fu before.

Yuan Shao assigned many of his confidence and retainers to high-ranking positions in the Ji Province administration, after doing all of that Guo Tu suggested that Yuan Shao announce Han Fu’s surrender and that they broke the treaty with Gongsun Zan.

Yuan Shao listened to Guo Tu’s advice, he announced Han Fu’s surrender and submission to his rule, also that he broke the military treaty between him and Gongsun Zan, and ordered Gongsun Zan to return the land that he took to Yuan Shao.

The announcement shocked the entire world, they didn’t expect that at such an important conjecture in the war, something like this would happen. Gongsun Zan was enraged when he heard this announcement, to answer Yuan Shao’s announcement he declared war on him, making the North enter a new war.
