Reborn In The Three Kingdoms

Sun Guan kneeled down, vowing that he would complete Kong Rong’s order and wish, with tears streaming down his face. Kong Rong was satisfied, and he turned his head to ward Liu Bei once again asking him to take care of Qing Province, after saying that Kong Rong closed his eyes.

Liu Bei seeing Kong Rong closing his eyes was surprised, he shook Kong Rong’s hand slowly but could feel that there was no more power in the hand. He told the doctors, begging them to save Kong Rong but they shook their heads.

Liu Bei and Sun Guan saw this and knew that Kong Rong had left the world, Sun Guan cried smuggling his sound so that the soldiers outside wouldn’t hear it.

Liu Bei on the other hand was sad that a famous literary talent of this era was dead, but happy at the same time receiving Qing Province easily, expanding his territory massively, and receiving Kong Rong’s retainer and army.

Liu Bei approached Sun Guan and patted him on the shoulder, saying to him that it’s okay to be sad but they now have to defeat the Yellow Turbans, avenge Kong Rong, and not let his death be in vain.

Sun Guan hearing what Liu Bei said stops his tears, stands up, and promises to Kong Rong’s body that he will avenge his death. Liu Bei told the doctors to prepare Kong Rong’s body for funeral or cremation, as they needed to send Kong Rong’s body or ash to Kong Zhou.

When the news of Kong Rong’s death was spread to Kong Rong’s soldiers, their morale hit rock bottom but under Sun Guan’s passionate speech to avenge Kong Rong, their morale rose through the roof.

Wang Xiu was saddened by the passing of Kong Rong, Sun Guan informed him of Kong Rong’s last order/wish is for Liu Bei to succeed him, and that he and Sun Guan go serve Liu Bei as loyal as serving him.

Wang Xiu is a smart man, he understands that Liu Bei has the highest chance and prestige to succeed Kong Rong, rather than letting infighting happen and being attacked by Cao Cao or Lie Fan, it’s better to be led by Liu Bei.

Wang Xiu and Sun Guan as the highest-ranking official both in civil and military posts in Kong Rong’s administration declared their allegiance to Liu Bei, making Liu Bei the interim Governor now until he takes hold of the official seal and token.

Guan Yu and Zhang Fei didn’t expect their elder brother would receive such a big surprise gift, they were happy for Liu Bei because this meant his chance to revive the Han Dynasty raised several percent.

So under the leadership of Liu Bei’s command, his army now worked under one order with Wang Xiu and Jian Yong as his advisors, after battling for almost 3 days and 3 nights they finally defeated the Yellow Turbans, capturing some in the process.

Liu Bei’s victory over the Yellow Turbans solidified the loyalty of Kong Rong’s soldiers to him, increasing his military force massively.

After that Liu Bei waits for several days in this city, and seeing that no more Yellow Turbans are coming through the direction of Yan Province, He leads the army to return to Beihai, where they will hold a funeral for Kong Rong.

Arriving at Beihai, Kong Rong’s death surprised all the officials and people of Beihai, and when Wang Xiu told him that Kong Rong before his death appoints Liu Bei to replace him, some of the officials protested as Liu Bei doesn’t qualify their eyes.

Sun Guan and Wang Xiu with Jian Yong worked together to persuade this official, and they finally relented and supported Liu Bei’s rule, after holding Long Rong’s funeral ceremony and sending the body to Kong Zhou, Liu Bei’s ceremony to become Qing Province Governor was held.

Wang Xiu: ”Lord Liu Bei, do you promise to uphold the Confucian teaching that was promoted by Lord Kong Rong, and protect Qing Province from danger and recuperate its prosperity?”

Liu Bei: ”I promise to honor Brother Kong Rong’s Confucian teaching, and protect Qing Province!”

Wang Xiu: ”Then by the power invested in me by Lord Kong Rong, I hand you this official seal and token, indicating that from now on you’re the Governor of Qing Province.”

Sun Guan: ”I see My Lord!”

Everyone: ”We see the Lord!”

Liu Bei gives a warm smile to everyone, telling them to stand up and that there will be no personal changes for now, and for everyone to continue to do their work according to their post.

Liu Bei’s ascension to the highest seat of power in Qing Province was soon announced to the world, everyone was surprised by Liu Bei’s luck, especially Lie Fan as he didn’t expect Liu Bei’s original governorship to be taken by him and he still received another one.

While Qing Province was smaller than Xu Province and had less population it was still a stroke of Heaven-defying luck for Liu Bei to get this position, and Kong Rong pays the price with his life to pave the way for Liu Bei’s Heaven luck.

Lie Fan: ”I didn’t expect Liu Bei to be so lucky, now he holds Pingyuan County and Qing Province, Qing Province would surely have a better military now, with Liu Bei and his brothers co-trolling it now.”

Chen Qun: ”My Lord we need to evaluate the political situation now in Central Plain, Liu Bei’s ambition is several times greater than Kong Rong, and his controlling the Qing Province now means that when we attack Yuan Shi, we have to keep an eye on him.”

Jia Xu: ”I think we don’t need to do that, As if what I and Xun You have calculated is correct, the battle between Yuan Shao and Gongsun Zan against Han Fu will end soon.”

Xun You: ”Of course, the winner will be Yuan Shao and Gongsun Zan, as Han Fu military force and power are being overwhelmed right now by the two lords ”

Lie Fan: ”We’ll no matter, right now we should do us on eliminating the Yellow Turbans to cement our alliance with Cao Cao.”

The shocking news of Liu Bei ascending to become the Governor of Qing Province surprised Lie Fan, but that didn’t make him distracted by the objective they needed to complete now.

Lie Fan leads his army to cleanse the southern part of Jibei from the Yellow Turbans, sometimes he joins the fight to relieve his boredom. Right now they are sieging a group of fellow Turbans that are hiding inside a small town.

Lie Fan let Jia Xu lead the army, and told all of his generals to listen to him. Lie Fan heads toward his camp, where Zhou Cang and Pei Yuan Shao were put by his bodyguards after taking them out of the prison.

Lie Fan didn’t expect that he would meet Zhou Cang Guan Yu’s number one admirer, Pei Yuan Shao who would be killed by Zhao Yun for trying to steal his horse. There’s a chance that these two haven’t heard of Guan Yu’s name, as he lacks the exploit that he should have thanks to the fuel at Hulao Gate.

Zhou Cang should have been in Runan, where he and Pei Yuan Shao would meet Guan Yu when Liu Bei defeated Yuan Shu, who proclaimed himself Emperor at the time.

With many talents now scattered and some even joined him on their own accord, Lie Fan began to realize that his knowledge of history and the novel began to be useless.

Zhou Cang and Pei Yuan Shao who are being bound by ropes, turn their head toward the entrance when they hear someone coming in. Seeing that it is Lie Fan, both Zhou Cang and Pei Yuan Shao look at him while staying silent.

Lie Fan: ”I’m Lie Fan, General Of The Left and Governor of Xu Province, what were the names of the two of you?”

Zhou Cang: ”I’m Zhou Cang and beside me is Pei Yuan Shao! Governor Lie Fan can drop your facade and kill us, we have heard of your reputation for killing Yellow Turbans on sight.”

Lie Fan: ”Oh? Why have I never heard of this reputation? Huang Shao Guan Hai, the two of you are the latest to serve me, do I truly have this reputation?”

Huang Shao: Yes My Lord, you have the reputation of killing Yellow Turbansnon sight, your name is feared by Yellow Turbans commanders and soldiers alike, General Huangfu Song is below you.”

Lie Fan: ”Haha! That’s a surprise for me, looks like my killing of Zhang Jaio truly has struck fear in the hearts of Yellow Turbans!”

Pei Yuan Shao: ”Huang Shao? Why is your name the same as Commander Huang Shao?!”

Zhou Cang: ”Brother Pei, who is Huang Shao?”

Pei Yuan Shao explained to Zhou Cang, that Huang Shao was the Commander of the Yellow Turbans in Qing Province after Zhang Jiao’s defeat, he was defeated by Lie Fan when he came as reinforcement for Kong Rong.

Huang Shao didn’t expect someone from Yan Province to know his name, so he opened his helmet and mask and reintroduced himself to Zhou Cang and Pei Yuan Shao.

Pei Yuan Shao was surprised and asked Huang Shao why is he alive, as he should have been death, killed by Lie Fan in Qing Province. Huang Shao laughed, and told the others to open their helmet and mask, he explained to the two that the other 3 were also Yellow Turban commanders.

Guan Hai, Zhang Mancheng, and Bo Cai all gave their agreement to what Huang Shao just said, Neither Zhou Cang nor Pei Yuan Shao didn’t expected It would turn out like this, Lie Fan’s famous Yellow Ghost bodyguards were former Yellow Turban Commander.

Lie Fan: ”Now the two of you should have known why you haven’t been killed yet, I wanted to recruit you to serve me just like Huang Shao and the others.”

Pei Yuan Shao: ”We would never join you! We are under the teaching of the Supreme Leader of Way Of Peace!”

Zhou Cang: ”Brother Pei, I think this is our chance to turn our life, do you want to live as a vagabond and fugitive for the rest of our lives?”

Pei Yuan Shao: ”Brother Cang don’t tell me that you agree to serve him?!”

Zhou Cang: ”The truth is I have long admired the three heroes who defeated Lu Bu at Hulao Gate, especially General Huang Zhong! Now that I have dueled against him and have the chance to be his comrade, I will take it!”

Lie Fan: ”Haha good! Welcome Zhou Cang, you will receive the same armor, helmet, and mask as the others when we return to Xiapi. What about you Pe Yuan Shao?”

Pei Yuan Shao was in a dilemma, he doesn’t expect Zhou Cang to admire Huang Zhong so fervently that he wanted to be Huang Zhong comrade, he knew that without Zhou Cang with the limited strength he had, he couldn’t survive now so he sighs and agrees to serve Lie Fan.
