1 hour passed by, and Lu Bu could still fight on, while his army began to feel exhausted. At this time, both Zhang Liao and Gao Shun finally found the opening they were looking for, they told Lu Bu about this, and with Lu Bu leading his army they headed east of the formation to break out.

When Li Ru realized that Lu Bu was leading his army to break through an opening of the formation in the east, it was too late as with Lu Bu leading the charge using his might he managed to create an opening for his soldiers to break free of the formation.

Li Ru saw this and immediately ordered the drum to make another beat, telling his army to pursue Lu Bu and his army. But Li Jue, Guo Si, and Zhang Ji seeing the retreating Lu Bu and his army choose to attack Chang’An.

Li Jue, Guo Si, and Zhang Ji see the opportunity to have The Emperor in their hand, why should they follow Li Ru’s order when have nothing without them as there is no Dong Zhuo to protect him.

Li Ru seeing this can only show despair, as he didn’t expect to be backstabbed by Li Jue, Guo Si, and Zhang Ji as he thought they had the same loyalty as he had toward Dong Zhuo.

Li Ru takes out a sword from a soldier beside him, he looks up to the sky and then slith his throat with the sword. The soldiers around him began to panic, as they didn’t expect Li Ru to kill himself.

So this was the end of Dong Zhuo’s last loyal retainer, even the most despicable beast-like man still has someone loyal to him until his death.

Li Jue, Guo Si, and Zhang Ji don’t know that Li Ri committed suicide, even though they know they don’t care as they have a big prize in front of their eyes.

Wang Yun seeing Lu Bu fleeing with the rest of the army in his command, let out a shout of anger and despair as his 10,000 volunteer men can’t defeat 115,000 Xiliang soldiers.

So under the onslaught of 115,000 Xiliang soldiers, Wang Yun tried his best to defend Chang’An from Li Jue, Guo Si, and Zhang Ji who was like a madman attacking Chang’An.

Wang Yin tried his best to defend Chang’An with the army under his disposal, but in terms of morale, equipment, and experiences the Xiliang Army outmatched the men under Wang Yun’s lead.

Under the ferocious assault, Wang Yun and his men can’t hold Chang’An’s gate and soon they were breached, Li Jue ordered Guo Si and Zhang Ji to capture Wang Yun while he goes to the palace.

Wang Yun seeing that Chang’An gate was breached, knew that everything that he have worked so hard for was gone just like that. His men ask him what should they do now, but Wang Yun doesn’t respond to them.

When Guo Si and Zhang Ji led their men to the top of the wall, Wang Yu’s men threw down their weapons and they surrender to the two of them. Wang Yun just keeps watching Chang’An from the top of the wall, ignoring both Guo Si and Zhang Ji.

Guo Si: ”Old man Wang you didn’t expect this day to come right?! Haha! Look at how arrogant you were before, and now look who was on the feet right now!”

Zhang Ji: ”No need to talk to him, Don’t you look at the despair on his face? He is regretting the choice he has made! Haha, what a funny joke Heaven has played on you right Wang Yun?!”

Wang Yun: ”The two of you will face the same fate as me, capture me or kill me whatever you want to do, just do it.”

Guo Si: ”Humph you can still talk so high old man, men capture him and bring bin to the palace with us, it’s time for this old man to go sleep Haha!”

Wang Yun without putting up a fight was taken by Guo Si’s men, and together under Guo Si and Zhang Ji’s lead they brought him to the Imperial Palace, where Li Jue managed to subdue the Emperor and the Imperial Court.

Wang Yun was brought to his knee, and Li Jue said the list of crimes that Wang Yin have committed, all of which were lies. The 10-year-old Emperor Xian can only watch in despair, as Wang Yun was dragged toward the front of the Palace after Li Jue’s announcement.

In front of the Palace, Wang Yun was put on their knees and his head was put on a wooden board. Guo Si takes out his sword and raised it across his head before bringing it down towards Wang Yun’s neck.

Wang Yun’s head rolled down from the wooden board, you can still see a sparkle of life from his eyes. Before it’s completely put out, Wang Yun thought of his foster daughter that he hurt, wishing that he could see her for one last time but it’s too late for regret.

Wang Yun’s dead and Lu Bu’s retreat marked the end of Emperor Xian and the Imperial Court’s short freedom, as they are now in the hands of Li Jue and Guo Si who have the biggest army, while Zhang Ji was sent to Hongnong by the two of them.

The announcement for the calling of all local government leaders made by Wang Yun and Dong Cheng was torn by Li Jue, as they didn’t need these people to come to Chang’An.

However, Li Jue and Guo Si did not have serious ambitions, and their incompetence in governance caused the already fragmented Han Dynasty to be a breakdown from the inside.

The death of Wang Yun and Lu Bu’s defeat also the Xiliang Army under Li Jue and Guo Si manages to retake Chang’An spread throughout the world, Lie Fan and Cao Cao knew this will happen, one already knew the history, and the other foreseen this could happen.

The Emperor changed hands from Dong Zhuo to Wang Yun and now to Li Jue and Guo Si doesn’t disturb Lie Fan one bit, as having the Emperor will restrict his movement, as he has to act like a loyal retainer while scheming against the Officials.

Lie Fan has returned from Guangling after receiving Gan Ning’s oath of allegiance, Gan Ning has been assigned to harbor at Huai’An secret Port alongside his 10 Ships and 800 men.

He told Gan Ning to train more navy soldiers, expanding the amount to 3,000 which already included 800 brothers, and that Gan Ning would receive a surprise when he saw a new ship that his shipwright and craftsmen invented.

Jia Xu: ”My Lord with Dong Zhuo’s death, the Xiliang Army will be like a tiger without its teeth. Li Jue and Guo Si don’t have too much ambition, so sooner or later they will perish with time.”

Chen Qun: ”They hold The Emperor right now but don’t have much legitimacy, not like Dong Zhuo even though he has tyrannical rule but the other warlords are afraid of his power.”

Lie Fan: ”I agree if the Emperor ever escaped Chang’An from the grasp of Li Jue and Guo Si, there are only two people who have the chance to accept him that is Cao Cao and Yuan Shao.”

Jia Xu: ”I agree My Lord, but Cao Cao has higher chances as from what Oriole is reporting, Yuan Shao’s advisors have the talent but they are shortsighted and always compete for Yuan Shao’s favor, so they definitely advised Yuan Shal to not accept the Emperor.”

Lie Fan: ”Good, Cao Cao controlling the Emperor is much better than Yuan Shao, as he is more competent than Yuan Shao at least, and knew what to do and should not do.”

Jia Xu: ”Now that Wang Yun is dead, our revenge plan against him has been scrapped My Lord, and I received reports that Lu Bu has brought his family and all of his retainer alongside his army they have passed through Hongnong by now.”

Lie Fan: ”Keep an eye on them, how many army foes does Lu Bu have right now?”

Jia Xu: ”About 45,000 men My Lord, this can become a problem if he ever wandered through the central plains.”

Lie Fan nodded his head, he told Jia Xu to let Lu Bu and his army be as long as they didn’t attack them. Maybe with some of the history changes now, Lu Bu can take Qing Province from Liu Bei like in the original history.

Lie Fan can’t do much movement externally, as he needs to wait for his scheme to be fruitful and he can pluck it.

Back to Lu Bu, after his defeat in Chang’An, he brought the remaining of his army to Tong Pass to bring his family alongside him, and they headed toward Hongnong and passed through Hangu Pass.

Lu Bu and his men make a stop at Luoyang, who was under Cao Cao’s control to take a rest and resupply the amount of money they have brought from Tong Pass.

Lu Bu was staying at the main camp, with Lady Yan and Lu Lingqi together they were having lunch right now. The food they are eating right now is not as luxurious as before, but Lady Yana and Lu Lingqi don’t complain.

Lu Bu: ”Yan’er and Qing’er I’m sorry that we could only eat ordinary foods, I promise that we will eat just like before.”

Lady Yan: ”Husband don’t worry, this is just like our staple when we were in Bing Province. I and Lingqi like this ordinary food better than luxurious one.”

Lu Lingqi: ”Father I have trained martial arts from you since young, and a warrior should never protest as long as they have food to fill their stomach!”

Lu Bu: ”The two of you shouldn’t live like this, I have failed the two of you...”

Zhang Liao: ”My Lord I’m sorry to disturb you, but a man named Chen Gong is looking for you outside. ”

Lu Bu: ”Hoh? Tell him to come in, I didn’t expect that in Cao Cao’s territory there’s someone who wanted to meet me.”

Zhang Liao cupped his hand and left the main tent. Lady Yan and Lu Lingqi finish their food, and they head toward the other part of the tent. After Lu Bu had waited for some time, Zhang Liao finally returned bringing a 30-year-old man to the tent.

The man seeing Lu Bu cupped his hand toward him and introduced himself as Chen Gong. He said that he had long admired Lu Bu’s name and that was grateful for Lu Bu allowing him to meet with him. He said to Lu Bu that he wanted to swear allegiance to him and that he had a gift that could help Lu Bu.
