In just 3 months all of this news comes into Lie Fan’s desk, for Lie Fan, this is all going more or less the same as his plan. Sun Jiam surviving the ambush surprised him, but after he thought about it, it was better for Sun Jian and Sun Ce to lead the Sun Clan, they are more honorable and less scheming than Sun Quan so they are easier to handle.

Lie Fan read all of the report silently, while Jia Xu and Chen Qun waited for him to speak. Xun You is not here because he already accompanied Huang Zhong in the western frontier.

The day after Lie Fan arrived at Xiapi 3 months ago, he appointed all the people that had been decided from the previous day’s meeting. Huang Zhong was appointed as the General of the Qinglong (Azure Dragon) Army numbering 30,000 men with Xun You as his advisor.

Dian Wei was appointed as the General of the Baihu (White Tiger) Army numbering 30,000 men with Chen Deng as his advisor. Taishi Ci was appointed as General of the Zhuque (Vermillion Bird) numbering 15,000 men with Bu Zhi as his advisor, and lastly, Zhang Chao as the General of the Xuanwu (Black Tortoise) numbering 30,000 men with Zang Hong as his advisor.

Qinglong at the west, Baihu at the Southwest, Zhuque at the North, and Xuanwu at the south. Lie Fan takes the name of his armies from the 4 mythical creatures from Chinese mythology.

Lie Fan: ”Hmm now everyone is doing their own thing, Dong Zhuo is still the most powerful, but he is very far from us. While we are amassing our strength, who do you think should be our next target?”

Chen Qun: ”My Lord, from our current situation, politically we should either target Yuan Shu or Kong Rong. Kong Rong because he is small, and Yuan Shu because he is an impatient and short-sighted leader.”

Jia Xu: ”I agree with Chen Qun’s thought, in Military power Kong Rong is weaker than Yuan Shu, but in diplomacy and patience Kong Rong is better than Yuan Shu.”

Lie Fan: ”Kong Rong is weaker, but should we attack him, we would expose our northern front to Yuan Shao, meaning that we would need to assign more soldiers there.”

Chen Qun: ”Hmm that’s true, but if we attack Yuan Shu, wouldn’t we receive Yuan Shao’s resentment?”

Jia Xu: ”I don’t think so, the relationship between the two brothers is actually not that good. Yuan Shao was born to the main wife, and Yuan Shu from a concubine, they actually hate each other but hold themselves as their father is still alive.”

Lie Fan nods his head, Yuan Shu at the original history was crusaded by all the Warlords around him. He declared himself Emperor and received massive outrage, and Yuan Shao couldn’t help him and even condemned the action of his brother.

Because the situation is different now, Lie Fan is hesitating to attack Yuan Shu. Jia Xu seeing Lie Fan’s hesitation, suggested that they allied themselves with Cao Cao to attack Yuan Shu, as they hadn’t sent Chen Qun and Sun Qian to Cao Cao.

Chen Qun agrees with this, politically Cao Cao’s power is higher than Kong Rong, but below the rest of the Warlords in Central Plain.

Splitting Yuan Shu territories with Cao Cai received the northern part of Yu Province and Lie Fan received the southern part of Yu Province.

Lie Fan contemplates the idea, and seeing that both Chen Qun and Jia Xu are the ones suggesting this plan, He agrees with this plan and tells Chen Qun to prepare everything needed with Sun Qian and go to Cao Cao to establish the alliance as fast as they can.

With this done, Jia Xu then reported the current situation of each project Lie Fan has. Jia Xu reported that the Nest of Bees, Hwacha, Ballista, and two of the ongoing ship projects which are Patrol Boats and Horse Ships have been completed.

This is good news for Lie Fan, The best of Bees work as an artillery, which can shock infantries and cavalry alike. Hwacha can be assigned to the Fuchuan Warship and the Ballistas can be assigned to each of the Xu Province tons, especially the outer towns that become the base of each army.

Patrol Boats can be produced to patrol the Sea and Yellow River, and Horse Ships are important as it can carry tributes and repair materials, meaning that it have a large cargo hold.

Lie Fan: ”That’s great! How is the result of the test?”

Jia Xu: ”Everything works splendidly My Lord, only the best of bees and Hwacha needed some tuning as they have gunpowders as their materials.”

Lie Fan: ”Splendid! How many Fuchuan Warships do we have now since the trial?”

Jia Xu: ”We have 3 now My Lord, including with the one that was put on trial. According to your suggestion, the Hwacha was being installed and they will try using it on small boats.”

Lie Fan: ”Good, tell them to do everything as usual, and also give them bonus wages as their reward.”

Lie Fan then also asked about the amount of Chu-Ko-Nu they had produced and if the arched Saddle had been made for the new 4,000 Mongolian horses.

Jia Xu reported that they have 10,000 Chu-Ko-Nu and 5,000 Guard Battalion have been equipped with Chu-Ko-Nu. The rest was given to Chao Bo’s new unit the Crossbow unit, as for the arched saddle it’s ongoing with 2,000 Mongolian horse have been equipped with it.

Since there was nothing to discuss anymore, Lie Fan dismissed the meeting and returned to the Lie Clan mansion. At the Lie Clan mansion, Diao Chan and Cai Wenji are accompanying Ying Yue who is pale and has a headache.

Diao Chan: ”Little Sister Yue, why don’t you eat some more congee? You haven’t eaten since morning, if you don’t eat how could you fight your headache?”

Cai Wenji: ”Sister Yue what Sister Chan said is true, you have been feeling nauseous since morning and wanted to throw up but you can’t.”

Ying Yue: ”It’s okay, I just don’t like the food that was served today. By the way, I suddenly wanted to eat something sour.”

Diao Chan: ”Okay then I tell the kitchen to prepare something sour for you and you have to eat it okay? If not our husband will be worried about you.”

Diao Chan then headed to the kitchen, while Cai Wenji stayed accompanying Ying Yue. Lie Fan arrived at the Lie Clan residence, and when he entered Ying Yue’s room he saw the pale Ying Yue sitting on the sofa, with Cai Wenji beside her.

Lie Fan became worried when he saw the pale Ying Yue, he approached her and sat beside her asking her if she felt anything wrong inside her body. Ying Yue gives him a weak smile, saying that it’s okay, she just feels under the weather today.

Lie Fan wanted to believe her but he couldn’t, as in this era no matter what the illness was, it could become deadly. Lie Fan told Ying Yue to lie down, while he called for a servant to summon Hua Tuo and Zhang Zhongjing here.

Ying Yue tried to protest, thinking that Lie Fan didn’t need to call for her teacher and Zhang Zhongjing, but Lie Fan held his hand high to stop Ying Yue from protesting, saying that she couldn’t budge his decision.

At this time, Diao Chan entered the room bringing Ying Yue some sour fruits while the Kitchen prepared a meal for Ying Yue. Lie Fan saw this, took the fruit from Diao Chan, cut it for Ying Yue then fed it to her.

Diao Chan and Cai Wenji who saw this felt a bit jealous, hoping that they were in Ying Yue’s position right now. Of course, all these feelings quickly passed by and were replaced by worry for Ying Yue.

After 15 minutes of waiting, Hua Tuo and Zhang Zhongjing arrive at the Lie Clan residence. They were escorted by the servants toward Ying Yue’s room, where Lie Fan, Ying Yue, Diao Chan, and Cai Wenji were waiting for them.

Lie Fan sees Hua Tuo and Zhang Zhongjing have arrived, and tells them about what Ying Yue is feeling right now and that she wanted to throw up several times but nothing came out.

Hua Tuo and Zhang Zhongjing turned their head to each other, they could see in their eyes that they had the same feelings and early diagnosis about the symptoms that were described by Lie Fan.

Hua Tuo and Zhang Zhongjing take a turn in diagnosing Ying Yue, both checked Ying Yue thoroughly under Lie Fan’s watchful eyes. After 20 minutes, both of them are sure of their early diagnosis.

Hua Tuo and Zhang Zhongjing cleaned up their tools, and Lie Fan seeing this asked the two of them what was the result of their diagnosis.

Hua Tuo: ”Congratulations My Lord, Lady Ying Yue is not sick, she is actually pregnant that’s why she is feeling nauseous!”

Zhang Zhongjing: ”What Hua Tuo said is true, Lady Ying Yue is nauseous and dizzy it’s normal symptoms for a pregnant woman, she only needs more nutrition to consume for her and the baby.”

Lie Fan: ”Pregnant?! Yue’er is pregnant?! Haha! I’m going to become a father!”

Lie Fan hearing that Ying Yue is not sick but pregnant is surprised and soon turns into unprecedented joy. Ying Yue was also surprised, she had learned medical knowledge from Hua Tuo, and she had not even thought about being pregnant.

Diao Chan and Cai Wenji hearing this let out a surprised and happy squeal, both of them flock toward Ying Yue congratulating her and touching her abdomen saying that they are trying to get some luck so they can also get pregnant.

Lie Fan approached Ying Yue, hugging her tightly and even carrying her in his arms, the joy Lie Fan felt in his heart was very high. He puts down Ying Yue after some time, touching her abdomen and saying hello to his unborn child.

Ying Yue also holds her abdomen, wishing for it to be a boy and letting Lie Fan have an heir. Lie Fan hearing this said that he doesn’t care if it’s a boy or a girl, they are his blood and he will love them equally. He even hoped that it would be a girl, so he could spoil her like how Lie Fan spoiled Wannian, as a daughter is a father-padded jacket
