Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Seeing this, Bai Quan told Chen Ming a few positions where the Mechanical Race’s fleet might appear when leaving the star system.

The Mechanical Race is currently fleeing, so they must pursue efficiency.

Thus, they need to enter superspace at the extreme range where they won’t be affected by the star system’s gravity well.

So their exit position can actually be predicted.

Though, because of the distraction caused by the Phase Giant Beast, they are already too flustered to care about anything.

The scouting fleet sent out by Chen Ming was not detected at all, and even if there was a slight deviation in the positioning, it wouldn’t matter much.

But Chen Ming is always willing to listen to good advice.

He immediately adjusted the ambush position slightly and, after noting down Bai Quan’s battlefield tips, ordered all ships to enter combat readiness, prepared to fire at any time.

While Chen Ming was preparing for the ambush,

his scouting fleet, which had already entered the star system in advance, chose to approach the attacked planet.

Although the wreckage around the planet basically confirmed the incident was caused by the Phase Giant Beast,

Chen Ming still wanted to see with his own eyes what the destruction of those ships and buildings looked like, to thoroughly ascertain the reality of the situation.

As Chen Ming’s scouting fleet approached.

Details of the situation on the planet were transmitted back to Chen Ming via sensors.

The near-machine-made cities occupying almost all of the planet’s land have now almost half turned into wasteland.

Everywhere are broken Mechanical Race buildings and halted Mechanical Race individuals.

They all share a common trait, which is that they were destroyed by crushing attacks.

Something large and heavy has collapsed them.

Even the surrounding ground has sunken by tens to dozens of meters towards the underground.

And these sunken traces are all ray-shaped.

When Chen Ming’s scouting fleet got close enough to the planet to ascertain the details of what happened there through sensors, they did not approach further.

Instead, they began reconnaissance along the planet’s orbit.

Not long after, he discovered fresh traces of the Phase Giant Beast’s activities.

Near an ocean on the planet, in a Mechanical Race mineral extraction area,

An entity that cannot be observed by the naked eye was continuously attacking this area.

The method was simple: just crash through like a fish out of water on the surface.

Although the Phase Giant Beast is only the size of a normal cruiser, its powerful physical strength is enough to directly crush a cruiser of the same class.

Its terrifying weight, just by rolling over, can leave terrifying scars on the ground, striking with tremoring impact.

A large number of Mechanical Race individuals were constantly evacuating with Mechanical Race equipment or whatever from this area.

Moreover, some newly produced mechanized spiritual creatures of the Mechanical Race were trying to use spiritual energy attacks on the Phase Giant Beast.

However, all spiritual energy effects hit nothing but air.

This Phase Giant Beast, invisible and untouchable, was also immune to spiritual injuries.

The Phase Giant Beast seemed to have a deep vendetta against the Mechanical Race, continuously attacking and destroying everything they had.

Chen Ming was not sure if this Phase Giant Beast was the same one as before; if so, that would be interesting.

You should be able to determine it by comparing the size of the imprints left on the planet’s surface with the previous ones; they seem to be quite similar.

If the detailed traces could be gathered and compared with the previous ones, it could likely be determined if they were the same.

But others are researching the Phase Giant Beast, and he doesn’t need to pay too much attention as long as he doesn’t provoke it now.

Chen Ming cautiously continued to let the scouting fleet orbit the planet.

Continuing to search for important locations on the planet.

For example, any large warehouses the Mechanical Race might have.

The scouting fleet had already found several when they got close temporarily; those warehouses had been completely destroyed by the Phase Giant Beast.

However, Chen Ming wanted to look around a bit more to see if there were any other large warehouses, in case the cargo he had seized was stored inside and not destroyed by the Phase Giant Beast.

After all, Chen Ming hadn’t yet come into contact with the Mechanical Race cruisers that were fleeing, and was not sure if the seized Energy Crystal Crabs were still on the cruisers or stored in a warehouse.

He had to investigate.

Circle the planet one more time, and if no warehouse is found, temporarily withdraw.

After the Phase Giant Beast finishes its attack, he could then return to see if there were any wreckages worth salvaging.

Chen Ming accelerated the fleet once more.

However, as he was about to leave, he suddenly noticed a visibly twisted beam, seemingly straight but almost entirely distorted when observed closely, launched from a Mechanical Race ship coming to support.

Something wasn’t right, Chen Ming noticed that it was not the beam that was twisted, but the space around it.

It appeared to successfully hit the Phase Giant Beast located in phase space, vanishing with half of it in mid-air.

The Phase Giant Beast’s next action confirmed Chen Ming’s observation.

The ship was immediately retaliated against by the Phase Giant Beast.

The beast collided through the ship from bow to stern.

It seemed to inflict no critical damage on the Phase Giant Beast.
