Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

”Hmm, once you finish your two projects over there, remember to come and visit me when you have time.”

”I will.”

He Gu turned and left, disappearing around the corner of the report hall.

Chen Ming also left the report hall and boarded his own shuttle boat.

Afterward, he proactively contacted the two departments he wanted to join.

It’s not very good to go today, but contacting them in advance certainly won’t hurt.

After he finished contacting them.

For now, there shouldn’t be any important matters here at the headquarters.

What’s left is, as before, to do what he needs to do.

The replica left at the headquarters continues the research in closer cooperation with the Mechanical Race.

The robots at the branch, under his control, continue the research on the catalytic core.

The roles have all been assigned, so they can proceed step by step.

Chen Ming finally has enough experience to proceed with a few things he’s been impatiently waiting for, and that the Insect Queen has been eagerly anticipating.

While on the shuttle boat, Chen Ming took out the two Immortal Spirit Tree seeds he had just acquired.

Although the glowing Immortal Spirit Tree seeds were held in his hand, he felt nothing special at that moment, as if they were merely apple-sized nuts. Aside from emitting a glow, they seemed unrelated to Spiritual Energy and the Immortal Spirit Tree, without any Spiritual Energy Fluctuation.

However, as soon as he scanned the Immortal Spirit Tree seeds with his Spiritual Power, he found that the shell of the seeds almost entirely blocked any penetration of Spiritual Power.

He wonders how the Insect Queen was able to sense the uniqueness of the Immortal Spirit Tree seeds.

Luckily, he specifically exchanged for two seeds, one of which was intended to be fed to the impatient Insect Queen.

After Chen Ming signaled to the Insect Queen that the seed could be consumed.

The Insect Queen conveyed a joyful emotion.

This time, however, the Insect Queen did not extend its tentacles directly onto Chen Ming, instead, it wanted Chen Ming to deliver the Immortal Spirit Tree seed to its side.

Chen Ming certainly meets minor requests.

His Spiritual Energy immediately activated, sending the Immortal Spirit Tree seed to the Insect Queen’s planet.

He took a glance at the planet where the Insect Queen was located.

It’s clear that the expansion of the Insect Hive Planet continues, with the insect nest still expanding deeper underground.

Despite previously preparing for the Insect Queen’s migration, the presence of numerous Insect Race individuals means they can’t stop consuming the planet.

Insects need nutrients to survive.

Therefore, Chen Ming consented to the Insect Queen’s behavior and contemplated ways to slightly restrict the Insect Race’s appetite.

Anyway, once the Insect Queen completes the conversion of the Teleportation Engine and relocates elsewhere, it can devour any planet it wants.

The universe has plenty of planets for the Insect Race to consume.

However, the issue is the extremely low assimilation efficiency of the Teleportation Engine; Chen Ming has been feeding the entire cruiser to the Insect Queen for almost half a year.

Even though all the other materials combined only took three to four months, this particular conversion of the Teleportation Engine has taken a considerable amount of time.

The Insect Queen often comes to Chen Ming to ask questions about the Teleportation Engine technology.

It’s evident because of the conversion issue of the Teleportation Engine.

If it’s an ordinary question, that’s one thing—Chen Ming has become proficient in all the basic technologies of a cruiser level and can easily provide answers.

But the Insect Queen’s language ability is not strong; despite Chen Ming teaching it for a long time, it still cannot speak.

This results in every communication with the Insect Queen leaving Chen Ming quite mentally exhausted, especially with complex technology like the Teleportation Engine; explaining it to the Insect Queen is truly vexing.

Fortunately, Chen Ming can barely manage to clarify the issues each time.

Currently, the Insect Queen hasn’t yielded results yet, but it should be soon.

At this moment.

As Chen Ming’s Spiritual Energy delivered the Immortal Spirit Tree seed to the Insect Queen’s side.

The Insect Queen’s bloated body shook and opened its mouthparts to swallow the seed.

However, it didn’t immediately gulp down the seed, instead beginning to chew.

Chen Ming was somewhat surprised by this sight.

Since this is the first time he’s seen the Insect Queen consume with its true body.

Moreover, it involves the complete process of swallowing, chewing, ingesting, and digesting.

Normally, the Insect Queen uses a few tentacles equipped with mouthparts to grow out, quickly swallow the prey, then utilize the Insect Race’s unique traits and Chen Ming’s Spiritual Energy to transform the consumed matter into what it needs.

Today’s feeding method clearly indicates a special situation.

He’s uncertain about the changes that will occur to the Insect Queen after consuming the Immortal Spirit Tree seed.

Just as Chen Ming had a hint of anticipation.

He suddenly saw that the carapace on the top of the Insect Queen’s body suddenly cracked open.

And beneath the fissure, at a speed visible to the naked eye, a plant-like bud began to grow.

Some kind of winter worm summer herb?

A strange thought just flashed through Chen Ming’s mind.

Only to see the bud rapidly grow into a plant and bloom a small flower at its tip.

As the flower simultaneously withered.

A large amount of biomass began to overflow from the Insect Queen’s body, completely engulfing it and forming a large chrysalis.

The Insect Queen has once again entered an evolutionary state.

Although the evolution of the Insect Queen is undoubtedly a cause for excitement, Chen Ming has only recently planned the migration, so why evolve at this particularly inconvenient time?

However, it’s not a big problem.

This cocoon, different from before, emits a faint glow, and in addition to enveloping the Insect Queen, it also encloses the cruiser-level biological spaceship currently owned by the Insect Queen.
