Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

The reason is quite simple.

Chen Ming is a Psychic, and at the same time, a researcher with a rather complex research focus.

Although he hasn’t systematically studied psychic powers, he is not lacking in understanding of them.

Moreover, he knows people who work at the Spiritual Ability Research Institute.

Therefore, Chen Ming is absolutely clear about the nature of the Eros Spiritual Stone.

Even if the Legion Commander doesn’t know whether Chen Ming understands the effects of the Eros Spiritual Stone.

When he presented the gift, Chen Ming, without even touching it, had already seen the unique effects of the Spiritual Stone, understood the Legion Commander’s intent and expressed gratitude—these are signs that Chen Ming is knowledgeable.

Moreover.

Chen Ming doesn’t just have one valuable item with psychic qualities, many people know this.

The Stone of Chaotic Words, embedded in ”Ming” and ”Ming”, never intentionally concealed, has no Spiritual Energy Fluctuations but has Spiritual Stone patterns.

A bit of thought would reveal this is a psychic weapon embedded with the special Resonating Spiritual Stone.

And ”Ming” was given to Chen Ming by Bai Quan, so there’s even less to say.

Thus, the Eros Spiritual Stone, with its many limitations, cannot compare to what Chen Ming already possesses.

Purely because of its unique symbolic significance, did the Legion Commander give it to him.

With the Legion Commander’s means, it’s impossible or unnecessary to expect Chen Ming to use such a Spiritual Stone himself.

If he really wanted a handle on Chen Ming, he would use some other means.

Of course, from the current behavior of the Legion Commander, he doesn’t seem to have such intentions; he genuinely seems to want to maintain a good and friendly relationship with Chen Ming.

Although Bai Quan didn’t explicitly say it, he must be worried about these issues.

Chen Ming also slightly hinted to Bai Quan, saying, ”Don’t worry about these issues, I’ll handle all things related to psychic energy.”

Bai Quan, who was initially looking into the distance, turned his gaze back to Chen Ming, his eyes intertwined with complex emotions.

”Then... I’ll leave it to you.”

Two weeks passed by swiftly.

Chen Ming and Cheng Xinghai’s engagement party was held as scheduled.

The engagement party’s specific process wasn’t complicated; compared to a formal wedding banquet, it was much simpler.

But various ceremonies were still required.

Anyway, Chen Ming didn’t particularly like it, and Cheng Xinghai liked it even less than him.

The day before, she dragged Chen Ming, clamoring to finish quickly and avoid too many flashy displays.

Then she was pressed back by her mother-in-law.

This is ultimately a very important matter, and the two still had to cooperate.

Of course, it didn’t take too long.

The engagement party, compared to the wedding banquet, mainly served to entertain guests and announce more detailed future wedding plans.

Overall, there weren’t many processes; the main characters of the engagement party just needed to attend briefly and meet with some important guests.

Such as Chen Ming needing to meet the directors of the Ship Research Institute, Spiritual Ability Research Institute, and Shimmering Civilization Research Institute.

Because of his three honorary memberships.

Also Bai Quan’s adoptive father and some elders from Bai Quan’s faction closely related to Bai Quan.

And He Gu, who was invited by Chen Ming.

The three directors maintained a welcoming attitude towards Chen Ming.

Bai Quan’s adoptive father, his old superior, also looked upon Chen Ming quite favorably.

And when seeing He Gu at the engagement party, Chen Ming suddenly realized a problem.

The Spiritual Ability Research Institute is a place for systematic research on psychic energy.

Yet up to now, he hasn’t systematically studied anything related to psychic energy.

The implication is that even if Chen Ming goes there now, there isn’t much he can learn.

He seems to have slightly been misled.

However, this is his own issue, nothing much to say.

The other two institutes don’t necessarily require a thorough understanding of psychic energy, as long as one is diligent later when going to those institutes.

But Chen Ming suddenly also discovered the ”sinister intention” of the Legion Commander.

These departments indeed have good things, but absolutely require spending a lot of time learning, ideally involving yourself directly in this learning method.

In other words, the Legion Commander gave Chen Ming these three honorary memberships, equivalent to using a large piece of meat to lure Chen Ming to stay at the headquarters.

After all, upon leaving, although the honorary membership status remains, the circumstances for applying it aren’t favorable.

This also needs to be a key consideration for him afterward.

After all, he can’t stay at the headquarters forever.

While Chen Ming was pondering, he suddenly noticed a lot of people seemed to be surrounding Bai Quan’s area.

Catching some casual words, it mainly seemed to be discussions about the incident two weeks ago.

Many departments had positions vacated that needed filling.

And quite a few of these vacancies were allocated to Bai Quan’s side.

So naturally, Bai Quan was surrounded by a crowd.

Chen Ming didn’t care too much about the rest but had to pay some attention to the Special Materials Management Department.

Because Energy Crystal is classified as special-grade material, the development of Energy Crystal Crab resources must proceed through the Special Materials Management Department.

Prior, when Chen Ming wasn’t in the Fourteenth Legion, he had already entrusted the Energy Crystal trading to Bai Quan as agent, letting Bai Quan forcibly insert himself into this department.

And now with several factions affected, plenty of vacancies appeared which nicely allowed Bai Quan greater involvement.

Not to mention.
