Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

He’s just asking.

While waiting for the report meeting to start, the two chatted a bit more.

Then a few minutes later, He Gu asked Chen Ming a new question: ”It seems like headquarters approved a Catalytic Core for you recently. How’s the progress on that?”

This topic got Chen Ming excited, and he said, ”Still researching it, but it’s really interesting.”

”Among all the things I’ve come across from the Shimmering Civilization, this one has the highest technical content.”

He Gu was intrigued by Chen Ming’s remark.

Because he knew that the number of Catalytic Cores was extremely rare, even looking across the entire Empire, there weren’t many captured, and with Chen Ming’s words, it truly raises curiosity.

”Care to share some insights?”

”Hmm...” Chen Ming thought for a moment and said, ”I’ll just show you the real thing.”

He reached into his clothes pocket and took out a small bottle, containing a transparent liquid.

”This is one of the catalysts produced by the Catalytic Core. As for the effect... come, hold out your hand.”

He Gu cooperatively extended his hand, not worried that Chen Ming would harm him.

Chen Ming opened the small bottle and directly poured a drop of the liquid onto He Gu’s palm.

This drop of liquid showed no Spiritual Energy Fluctuation and was immediately absorbed by his skin.

”Try using some Spiritual Energy.”

Prompted by Chen Ming, He Gu eagerly tried to channel some Spiritual Energy Fluctuation.

Soon he discovered, as his Spiritual Power was being converted into perceived Spiritual Energy Fluctuation, this drop of liquid absorbed by his skin actually facilitated the process.

Accelerating the efficiency of his Spiritual Power converting into Spiritual Energy Fluctuation.

”No Spiritual Energy Fluctuation but can amplify Spiritual Energy, interesting stuff.”

”This is the catalyst.”

Although catalysts conventionally don’t get consumed, as catalysts do not partake in reactions or restore themselves after participating in one.

However, the catalyst from the Catalytic Core naturally dissipates, directly vanishing without leaving a trace.

Chen Ming couldn’t solve this issue, but when considering the effect of the catalyst, Chen Ming felt this situation was still acceptable.

After all, the actual effect of the catalyst is much more powerful and varied than what Chen Ming currently demonstrates.

Not only does it catalyze the transformation of Spiritual Power into Spiritual Energy Fluctuation, but it also has the ability to catalyze the conversion of Spiritual Energy Fluctuation into actual effects.

The only difference is the specific catalytic effect specified by Chen Ming when utilizing the Catalytic Core.

Any catalyst needed by Chen Ming can be produced through Chen Ming’s control of the Catalytic Core.

Chen Ming even feels he can use the Catalytic Core to manufacture catalysts that promote the growth of the Immortal Spirit Tree.

This is also one of the sources of Chen Ming’s confidence in cultivating the Immortal Spirit Tree.

He Gu continually converted his Spiritual Power into Spiritual Energy Fluctuation until the catalyst completely dissipated.

He looked up at Chen Ming and said, ”Honestly, when this thing’s results come out, you must contact me.”

”This thing is too fascinating.”

”And I found that seemingly all the devices extracted from the Shimmering Civilization have potential for ordinary people to use.”

”I feel my project can start from these aspects.”

”No problem.”

Chen Ming agreed to it.

Anyway, the final results have to be submitted to the Spiritual Ability Research Institute for review, notifying He Gu was completely fine.

Just before his research on the Catalytic Core concludes, he must think of ways to obtain a few more Catalytic Cores.

This truly is precious stuff.

The report meeting began amidst Chen Ming’s chat with He Gu.

It lasted for more than two hours.

It basically covered all the changes in the Mechanical Race compared to the Empire’s earlier understanding of the Mechanical Race.

Also including what He Gu previously discussed with Chen Ming, about mechanized Spiritual Creatures and the Mechanical Race’s new Main Level Weapons.

Plus some more detailed changes.

Such as the declining proportion of White Cloud Steel in the White Cloud Steel Alloy used by the Mechanical Race.

This means the Mechanical Race can manufacture more mechanical bodies with fewer materials while maintaining the strength of individual mechanical beings.

And the overall scope of the Mechanical Race Star Realm.

It reveals the Mechanical Race has been expanding all along.

Even if the Empire does not confront the Mechanical Race now, in the future the Mechanical Race might proactively confront them.

Overall, the report meeting was quite fruitful.

Similar report meetings could be attended more in the future.

The academic atmosphere at the Spiritual Ability Research Institute is quite good.

And after the report meeting ended.

He Gu was of course preparing to leave.

However, before leaving, he instructed Chen Ming, ”Both project teams have clearly responded. They’re all welcoming you.”

”But a general welcome doesn’t mean everyone welcomes you; some might feel you’re there to claim credit. So, just bear with it, and contact me if there’s a problem, or contact the President, either works.”

”Can you help me resolve these issues?”

”I can’t, but I can make a phone call to the Head for you.”

He Gu smirked and said, ”Just joking because I used to research with the Head, later becoming independent and focusing on civilianizing Spiritual Ability Technology. People will, more or less, grant me some face.”

”There’ll be specific people to receive you when you go.”

”But people also need time to prepare. If you go today, the most is you’ll just have a look around, not much else.”

Chen Ming readily agreed, saying, ”Then I’ll go tomorrow. Just enough to organize my schedule.”
