Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 91: Chapter 67: Raid Plan_2

”Their body length varies from about 20 meters to 80 meters, and they survive by absorbing gases from the surface of gas giant planets.”

”They feed on various small asteroids containing metal minerals, and after a special reaction with the substances inside their bodies, the output is Sky Steel Ore with many impurities.”

Chen Ming immediately recalled the piece of Sky Steel Ore he found earlier in the Rimu Star Ring.

Although he indeed had a slight aversion to the Sky Steel Ore, in his heart, there was actually nothing much else.

At least, the Sky Steel Ore did not look like any kind of excrement, and the price of melted Sky Steel reaching thousands per gram was enough to overlook any of its other shortcomings.

After all, in his previous life, Chen Ming had seen similar things, like bird’s nest, which is just bird saliva, and civet coffee, which is even more absurd.

So Chen Ming wasn’t overly averse to the likes of Sky Steel, which needed to be smelted to be used.

He quickly accepted the fact that Sky Steel was essentially the excrement of Altrulan space eels.

Gamma AI didn’t know what Chen Ming was thinking. It continued to focus on explaining the task to Chen Ming: ”The objective of the raid mission is to attack the outpost’s warehouse, where the Human military keeps a batch of Sky Steel Ingots.”

”Afterwards, depending on the battlefield situation, we can decide whether to attempt capturing the Altrulan space eels living within the gas giant’s ring.”

”My subsequent task is the same as before.”

”Still wandering on the edge of the battlefield, looking for opportunities to capture valuable ships from the military.”

Chen Ming silently absorbed the summary provided by Gamma AI, calmed himself down a bit, and said, ”Got it, then as before, prioritize my safety above everything else, and handle the rest as you see fit.”

”Received.”

”Once you complete your current raid mission, you should have time for independent activities, right?”

Gamma AI replied, ”Yes, under normal circumstances, we will first reach our distribution point through Teleportation Engine resonance, away from the Human Empire, then it’s free time.”

”Do you need repairs now?”

”No need, the Refraction level is in good condition, just requiring a small fuel replenishment.”

”Okay.”

Chen Ming exhaled and settled down quietly.

But his mind was not idle.

It’s currently a rest period with nothing to do.

Chen Ming planned to briefly research the functions of this Refraction level vessel and consider how to use it in the future.

Chen Ming listed out the few pieces of equipment and systems on the Refraction level ship that were worth researching.

These included the Electromagnetic Capture Chamber, High-Energy Focusing System Module, Full-angle Shield Module, High-Frequency Electromagnetic Pulse Generator, Electromagnetic Pulse Amplification Device, and Long-Distance Scanning Detection System Module.

These were all pieces of equipment that Chen Ming could research and develop.

Among them, he felt the most development potential lay with the Electromagnetic Capture Chamber.

Chen Ming now confirmed with his own eyes that the Refraction level’s Electromagnetic Capture Chamber could accommodate three fregates.

The various types of equipment used to investigate captured ships could be slightly modified to be used for other purposes.

For example, for ship transformation and maintenance.

With this in mind, the Refraction level could completely serve as a small dock.

Moreover, the Refraction level was not specifically a combat vessel; those electromagnetic pulse devices were clearly for auxiliary purposes.

It could also work in conjunction with other ships to adapt to different situations.

If mining was needed, Chen Ming could control the Iron Ore No. to go out; if combat was needed, he could specially prepare a combat ship, and for other situations, he could prepare ships with different functions.

Chen Ming could always switch control of the ships, so transforming the chamber is definitely the most valuable choice.

However, Chen Ming must prepare for possible rebellion by Gamma AI after it detaches from his forced control.

But the approach to dealing with this is actually quite simple.

It’s about completely removing all aggressive means from Gamma AI within the chamber, so Chen Ming can safely switch the ship control permissions at any time.

Just in case he wanted to transform the Electromagnetic Capture Chamber of the Refraction level into a hangar, there would be no need for internal aggression at all.

Chen Ming contemplated the modification plan, and half an hour quickly passed by.

He was originally planning to continue thinking about more complex modification methods, but just then, the Refraction level vessel suddenly trembled slightly.

Gamma AI immediately informed Chen Ming of the specific situation: ”It’s a repair ship refueling the Refraction level.”

”Okay.”

Chen Ming casually replied and glanced at the condition outside the Refraction level.

Confirming that nothing was indeed happening, he wasn’t too bothered by his thought process being interrupted.

After all, he had already planned out his thoughts on the transformation, and only needed to fill in the more detailed steps later to complete the modification plan entirely.

Chen Ming stood up from his seat and stretched his somewhat stiff body, his hand inadvertently touching the control panel of the Iron Ore No.

Just like when he previously touched an unconnected ship, a prompt suddenly appeared in Chen Ming’s mind.

But this time, the prompt was somewhat different from before.

[New ship signal detected, would you add brain-control signal connection?]

[Current connected ships: 1/2]

[Connectable ships: Iron Ore No. (Small Civilian Mining Freighter), Sentinel Level (Sentinel Level Civilian Armed Frigate)]
