Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 84: Chapter 65: Excuses and Alarms_3

It wasn’t long before.

The factory director, suddenly finding himself with nothing to do, also pulled out his terminal, avoiding Chen Ming’s gaze, and started chatting with Old Wu about Chen Ming’s background.

Currently, they can confirm that Chen Ming is definitely a highly skilled maintenance master with elite education, and that talent and hard work are both indispensable.

So now they are discussing whether Chen Ming originates from the Sinda Corporation or if he’s emerged from another company.

Merely having a terminal from within Sinda Corporation cannot completely prove anything, so they couldn’t come to a conclusion for a while.

Chen Ming was unaware of what the factory director and Old Wu were discussing.

But what he did know was that the next day, another engineering ship was added to the repair shop, assigned to him to drive alone.

Without interference from others, Chen Ming could even directly use the panel to assist with driving and work, making his tasks even easier.

He could even find time to consider the usage method of the Dusk AI Core.

Over the past two days, Chen Ming thought carefully and researched a lot of information.

He found that ever since AI consciousness awakened and started the rebellion, so many years had passed, and it seemed indeed only Dusk AI had entered the Human Empire without any AI leaving it.

Although this may be due to effective management or tight information control,

it could also be that indeed individual Dusks don’t care much about where they work.

Chen Ming thought he could try to trust Gamma AI and decided not to sell that Sentinel Level ship for now, planning to repair it when he has the time, strip off some dangerous functionalities, and give it a try.

After work,

Chen Ming didn’t rush to fix the Sentinel Level, but instead went to find the boss and delivered the previous batch of tobacco and alcohol goods.

He discussed the issue regarding the recovery of that half of a Radiant Level ship.

Chen Ming had already confirmed the previous night’s off-work that there was nothing else on the Radiant Level of any special value to him, so selling it off quickly would prevent too many thoughts from lingering, sparing trouble.

The recovery price for the Radiant Level was negotiated; the boss indicated that half a ship could only be recovered for about thirty percent of the price.

However, even thirty percent was already more profitable than stripping it clean for materials.

Furthermore, the price of destroyers is generally counted in tens of millions, and the price of Dusk ships is definitely higher than other ships.

So in the end, like the last time, the boss directly paid Chen Ming the amount, totaling forty-five million.

Such an amount left Chen Ming once again experiencing a sense of unreality, and upon confirming the receipt of the money, his hands were slightly trembling.

Fortunately, this time the boss sent two people along with Chen Ming to the repair shop for verification, and after acceptance, the accounts were clear, allowing Chen Ming to calm down a bit.

This much money was definitely enough for Chen Ming to purchase a very advanced frigate.

Chen Ming was still deliberating whether he should overhaul Iron Ore No. entirely or buy a new spaceship.

Now there was no need to consider it.

He wanted it all.

A backup option is always better than having nothing.

However, the current condition of the repair shop is insufficient to support a major overhaul of Iron Ore No., and it seems there are no ships available for sale at the repair shop for the time being.

So after all these considerations, things circled back to modifying the Sentinel Level to let Chen Ming understand the effect of Gamma AI.

But after trading with the boss, it was already somewhat late, so Chen Ming simply outlined some modification plans and then lay down on the bed of Iron Ore No.

However, late that night,

Chen Ming was suddenly awakened from his deep sleep by a piercing alarm.

”Dusk Fleet is about to attack the Space Station, please take shelter.”
