Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 65: Chapter 57: Attempting with Dusk Beacon_2

Generally speaking, repairing a spaceship, only considering labor costs and not replacement parts, is approximately one hundred thousand.

The repair factory takes half, and then typically two maintenance masters repair one spaceship together, and each person ends up with a little over twenty thousand.

Originally, Chen Ming’s share of one and a half percent should have been fifteen thousand per ship, totaling ninety thousand for six ships.

Now it seems that the factory manager has clearly understood the specific situation of the repair task just now, so he directly gave Chen Ming thirty percent, rounding up to two hundred thousand.

Chen Ming estimated that there wouldn’t be many opportunities at the repair factory to repair so many ships at once, so this two hundred thousand wasn’t too bad.

After confirming the receipt of the money, Chen Ming nodded to the factory manager and prepared to leave.

However, before leaving, Chen Ming didn’t forget why he came to the repair factory today.

Chen Ming bypassed the factory manager and said to Old Wu, ”Old Wu, I have something to ask you, do you have time now?”

Old Wu’s hands seemed to have nowhere to rest, so one ended up on the factory manager’s shoulder.

”Hey, not for now. Old Lü called me here to do something. I’ll definitely have time after work.”

”Alright, I’ll catch up with you later.”

Old Wu waved his hand and walked towards the deeper part of the repair factory with Factory Manager Lü.

Chen Ming watched their backs gradually disappear, without any regret.

This was a good opportunity for him to verify whether his abilities could work on others’ spaceships.

And just now, Chen Ming had almost finished selecting the spaceship he planned to control.

The most suitable one was the Sentinel Level ship he initially repaired.

A Sentinel Level ship, with its strong mobility, is very suitable for taking on a vanguard or reconnaissance role.

A ship on such a mission is very likely to leave the fleet alone, maintaining only communication contact.

Chen Ming could monitor the Sentinel Level ship, and as soon as it detached from the main fleet,

he could forcefully control the Sentinel Level ship to move to a location unnoticed before anyone else could react.

Turning off life support and engine, waiting for the pirates on board to suffocate due to lack of oxygen or freeze to death, the spaceship would entirely belong to him.

By then, Chen Ming would steer the ship back to the Space Station before the pirates realized it.

He’d dismantle the parts he needed outside the Space Station and sell the remaining spaceship directly to the repair factory.

Dead men tell no tales. Why would the pirates contend with the repair factory for a share?

Chen Ming quickly put on the equipment he used while repairing spaceships before.

And just at this time, everyone else had gone for lunch, so no one would stop Chen Ming.

Even if someone saw his actions on surveillance, he had plenty of reasons to explain.

Chen Ming once again arrived beside the Sentinel Level ship, placing his hand on its hatch.

[New spaceship signal detected, do you want to switch brain-control signal connection?]

[Currently connected ships: 1/1]

”Switch.”

With this selection confirmed, Chen Ming could clearly feel himself losing control of Iron Ore No.

Meanwhile, the Sentinel Level in front of him was gradually becoming an extension of himself, just like Iron Ore No. before.

Furthermore, switching ships did not consume much spiritual power.

Soon, a new spaceship panel appeared in front of Chen Ming.

[Spaceship Panel]

[Ship Name: Sentinel]

[Type: Sentinel Level Civilian Guard Armed Ship]

[Fuel Reserves: 10%]

[Port Weapons: None, None]

[Small Missile Mounting Point: None]

[Armor: Reinforced Titanium Alloy External Armor]

[Engine: Civilian Guard Level Engine]

[Internal Compartments: Captain’s Quarters, Engine Room, Missile Auxiliary Operations Room, Living Quarters, Storage Room]

[Important Equipment: Bridge Control System Module (Running), Field Tractor Module (Running), Life Support System Module (Running), Missile Auxiliary Module (Running), Anti-gravity Module (Running), Landing Module (Running), Superspace Navigation System Module (Running)]

There are some differences between the Sentinel Level panel and that of Iron Ore No.

The most obvious difference is in the weaponry.

The asymmetric design of the Sentinel Level is similar to the Hellhound Level, with the absence of regular weapons on its starboard side, only a missile mounting point fixed towards the right front of the ship.

It looks peculiar, but the fact that this design has persisted suggests it must have its merits.

At least that missile mounting point allows the Sentinel Level to have more tactical options.

However, these aren’t important to Chen Ming, because the truly important thing is that he can indeed control this Sentinel Level just like he controlled Iron Ore No.

At this time, through the perspective of the repair factory’s surveillance, you can see Chen Ming’s hand placed on the hatch, slightly moving, with the hatch opening in response.

But in reality, the operation to open the hatch was conducted through Chen Ming’s consciousness controlling the spaceship.

Chen Ming’s control of the Sentinel Level was no different from his control of Iron Ore No.

This means that all his previous ideas had the potential to be realized.

At this point, a trace of satisfaction finally appeared on Chen Ming’s face.

What he needed to do next was simple: wait.

Wait for the pirates to take this ship out again, then everything would fall into place.

And now, it was about time to go for lunch.

Just as Chen Ming was leaving the repair factory,

Factory Manager and Old Wu happened to arrive at the deepest part of the repair factory, a smaller repair area compared to the outside.
