Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 75: Chapter 62 Crushing and Death God Torpedo_2

No one knows exactly who possesses the technology to manufacture the Death God Torpedo, nor does anyone know who has been producing it.

But it always occasionally appears in the market of some space station black market.

Unexpectedly, after thirty years, Chen Ming can still see its traces.

Only Chen Ming did not expect to see such a launched Death God Torpedo under these circumstances.

That Sentinel-class ship would rather take losses to fire a precious Death God Torpedo at a crippled Dusk, making their intention very clear.

What they cannot have, no one else should think of getting.

Although Chen Ming was extremely angry now, he did not show it through his actions.

Because he knew the best countermeasure before the Death God Torpedo truly hits was to destroy it.

The Death God Torpedo has no guidance system and can only fly in a straight line, which is not difficult for any ship with digital control capabilities and weapon systems.

Just relax, stay calm, and press the weapon’s firing button.

Chen Ming took a deep breath, completely ignoring the Sentinel-class ship that was already fleeing in another direction.

Through the ship’s computer, he calculated and locked onto the trajectory of the Death God Torpedo’s launch.

But just at the moment when the Electromagnetic Spear was fired, the body of Iron Ore No. suddenly shook slightly.

The slight deviation caused one Electromagnetic Spear to miss, and the other Electromagnetic Bullet only grazed the torpedo’s edge, unable to destroy it directly.

This sudden shake of Iron Ore No. was not Chen Ming’s piloting error, but Iron Ore No. was suddenly hit by a random shot from a Hellhound-class ship outside of range.

The place where the Sentinel-class ship fired the Death God Torpedo was not very far from the Dusk Destroyer, and six seconds to reload the Electromagnetic Spear was not enough to destroy it before the torpedo hit.

The destruction of the Dusk Destroyer was already a foregone conclusion.

Faced with such a result,

The anger in Chen Ming’s heart could no longer be suppressed, and he smashed his fist onto the workbench in front of him, his face as dark as coal.

However, it seemed that the situation had not completely lost its turn, because the Electromagnetic Bullet that grazed the Death God Torpedo also affected its trajectory.

It caused the missile, which was supposed to hit the center of the Dusk Destroyer, to land on the ship’s bow instead.

After the destructive explosion of the antimatter warhead,

half of the Dusk Destroyer completely disappeared, while the remaining half was flung an unknown distance by the violent explosion’s impact.

The Sentinel-class and Hellhound-class ship had already given up fighting for the ship and planned to leave.

But Chen Ming didn’t want to let them off just like that.

As he had already locked onto the trajectory of the half-destroyed Dusk Destroyer, he knew where it would go next.

Since no one else was contesting with him, he now had ample time and energy to handle some things that were very unpleasant to him.

Chen Ming once again locked onto the Hellhound-class and Sentinel-class ships, saying grimly, ”None of you are leaving today.”

Chen Ming turned the bow of Iron Ore No. and pursued in the direction of the closer Sentinel-class ship.

The Hellhound-class ship’s size was there, and it was basically unable to escape.

Its only chance of escape was to directly activate the Superspace Navigation System, escaping through the Superspace Channel.

Iron Ore No. didn’t have a Superspace Navigation System, and was completely unable to pursue.

However, launching the Superspace Navigation System had its conditions.

The most important thing was that the Superspace Navigation System could not be activated within a star system.

Because once this was done, the massive gravity wells generated by stars within the Superspace Channel would directly tear apart any spacecraft.

They had to escape the star’s gravity well range before safely retreating through the Superspace Channel.

Therefore, it seemed that the faster Sentinel-class ship actually had a greater chance of escape.

Chen Ming had to prioritize it.

After confirming that Iron Ore No.’s own speed couldn’t catch up with the Sentinel-class ship, Chen Ming directly activated the ship’s Overload Grid.

The engine’s temperature was rising, and Iron Ore No. suddenly burst out with higher speed.

Before the Sentinel-class could completely widen the distance, Chen Ming drove into the range of the Electromagnetic Spear.

In front of a ship without shields, the Electromagnetic Spear was an invincible presence.

Once caught up, only one possibility could occur next.

Weapons would be damaged, engines destroyed, and the ship would be paralyzed like a piece of scrap metal.

That Sentinel-class ship was no exception.

After making ineffectual counterattacks that posed no threat to Iron Ore No.,

The Sentinel-class ship drifted in space like a lamb to the slaughter.

Chen Ming immediately controlled Iron Ore No. to approach and used the ship’s built-in tractor equipment to give it a new force.

It stopped its previous movement and headed in the direction of the half Dusk Destroyer.

After completing this task, Chen Ming once again turned the bow, setting his sights on the Hellhound-class ship that had not gone far.

Due to the continuous high-power output of the Overload Grid, even with isolated assemblies, the engine’s temperature was approaching a dangerous threshold.

Chen Ming immediately activated the emergency cooling device he had previously installed, and the molten silver that had absorbed a large amount of heat was expelled into space, quickly reducing the ship’s internal temperature.

He was able to maintain high speed and continued charging towards the last Hellhound-class ship.

He caught up with it before it left the star’s gravity well.

Even though the anger in Chen Ming’s heart had not been fully vented, his brain was not clouded by rage, remaining calm.

Last time, he missed the good things other than the cargo hold on the Hellhound-class ship due to tension and adrenaline, but this time he would not make the same mistake.

After paralyzing the Hellhound-class ship, Chen Ming directly began forcibly slicing into the ship with the mining laser.

He intended to cut out both the cargo hold and the installed medium force points from the Hellhound-class ship.

Although using the mining laser would directly expose the fragile ship interiors, the now-crippled Hellhound-class ship surely had no resistance capacity.

And those ships that might have entertained certain thoughts of fishing in troubled waters on the battlefield’s edges,

seeing the fate of these four ships, not a single one dared to provoke this white civilian mining ship.

So Chen Ming could proceed with cutting safely.

During the cutting, Chen Ming also saw through the sections of the Hellhound-class armor being cut opened that there were several figures in protective suits kneeling on the exposed deck with raised hands.

But Chen Ming ignored them, and after dismantling the medium force point equipment, he continued to cut open the cargo hold.

After finding the cargo hold of the Hellhound-class ship was empty, Chen Ming directly targeted the Electromagnetic Spear near the Hellhound-class ship’s engine.

Soon, the explosive flames covered those despairing faces beneath the helmets of the protective suits.

Chen Ming then towed the medium force points and the weapons on them, leaving the battlefield area.

He continued chasing after the half destroyer that had just been flung away and the Sentinel-class ship placed in that direction by Chen Ming.

Just as Chen Ming was busy with his tasks,

The battle on the big battlefield was also nearing its end after some time.

Under the desperate interference tactics of Dusk against the space station, the space station had completely lost arm segments 1, 3, and 9.

The previously half-segmented Arm 1 had later been targeted by the Dusk Cruiser, and the remaining half floated in space like the front half.

The exterior of the space station was almost entirely marked by the scorch marks left by high-intensity lasers.

Originally, there were about 130 ships on the space station’s side, but now only over sixty were still operational.

The number of ships with survivors was less than eighty.

Such heavy losses meant that Dusk had also paid a terrible price.

Dusk’s hundreds of destroyers and guards were completely annihilated, and the Dusk Cruiser was near paralyzed.

It even destroyed a large force point, leaving a Dusk-modified Speed Particle Spear behind.

However, in the end, the Dusk Cruiser forced a shield shutdown during a cooldown gap of the space station’s Speed Particle Spear and escaped directly using a teleportation engine, which was more advanced than the Superspace Navigation System.

But even if they couldn’t capture the Dusk Cruiser, judging from the battlefield’s remnants alone,

the space station’s side could definitely consider it a successful battle.
