Global Flood: I Survive on Duckweed

Chapter 249: Chapter 175: Invitation to Meet, The Base Is Under Attack (4)

Xin Wan, standing beside him, tried to stop him. ”Elder Hua, we need you to stay on the shore and direct us. We’ll go down!”

Hua Lingfang shook his head. ”I must lead by example!”

With that, he brandished a dagger and leaped directly into the water. When the others saw that Hua Lingfang, despite his advanced age, had unhesitatingly entered the water to face the enemy, their morale surged. They quickly donned their diving goggles and jumped in.

Some of these diving goggles had been on the yacht originally; the others were handmade by the Evolvers. All it took was polishing some lenses and setting them in metal frames.

After becoming Evolvers, those who already knew how to swim found their skills in the water had improved dramatically!

As they submerged, they found themselves surrounded by a dense swarm of fish, each about half a meter long!

To their surprise and delight, the fish were all entangled in the bitter grass!

But the fish were frantically tearing at the bitter grass, and the once incredibly tough strands were quickly being shredded.

Thankfully, Ren Yuanyang had placed a large amount of bitter grass beneath the Banyan Forest, so new strands were constantly wrapping around the fish, keeping them contained.

Even so, the supply of bitter grass was diminishing rapidly.

Hua Lingfang gave a hand signal and immediately swam toward the trapped fish!

They couldn’t speak underwater, but Lin Mu and the others completely understood Hua Lingfang’s meaning: attack now!

Lin Mu and the others spread out, each picking a fish and rushing toward it!

The daggers in their hands, all incomparably sharp, had been crafted by Jin Ziyu and the Gold-Type Evolvers.

With the bitter grass holding them in place, it was easy to strike their targets. However, the fishes’ scales were incredibly hard and smooth!

At first, their daggers couldn’t even pierce the scales.

Hua Lingfang immediately switched his target to the fish’s eyes and scaleless belly!

SCHLICK!

The dagger plunged into the fish’s eye. With a twist of his wrist, Hua Lingfang churned the blade inside its head, and the fish immediately stopped struggling.

To make sure the fish was dead, Hua Lingfang also slit open its scaleless underbelly.

The others quickly discovered the fishes’ weak points and began aiming for their eyes and bellies.

Every so often, Hua Lingfang and his team had to surface for air before diving back into the depths.

The visibility in the area plummeted. Back in the water, Hua Lingfang and his team could barely see two meters in front of them. They had to navigate by sensing the vibrations from the struggling fish.

After a grueling hour, Hua Lingfang and his team finally slaughtered all the fish that had been attacking the Banyan Forest.

The only injuries from the battle were two people whose wrists were struck by fish tails, causing some swelling and redness. All in all, it was a resounding victory.

Lin Mu led the Wood-Type Evolvers on one last check. After confirming that no more fish were attacking the Banyan Forest, they finally went to wash the grime off themselves.

”Everyone, be sure to wash thoroughly,” Hua Lingfang advised. ”We’re preparing a medicinal soup over here. Drink a bowl after you’re clean!”

Lin Mu and the others nodded in acknowledgment.

At that moment, the small white mice finally settled down, returning to their patrol posts.

Seeing this, Hua Lingfang breathed a sigh of relief. Without even taking the time to clean himself up, he went to report to Ren Yuanyang.

After listening to the report, Ren Yuanyang also breathed a small sigh of relief. ’Even though the bitter grass entangled the fish,’ he thought, ’based on Hua Lingfang’s description, if they hadn’t been dealt with, they would have certainly destroyed all the bitter grass and then moved on to the Banyan Forest. By the time we returned, a large part of the forest would have been destroyed!’

”Excellent. You all did very well,” Ren Yuanyang replied. ”Tell Lin Mu and the others that when I return, there will be a reward for everyone!”
