Global Flood: I Survive on Duckweed

Chapter 206: Chapter 164: Successful Experiment, The Base’s Small Trial

”Strictly speaking, we can’t call it a success just yet.” Zhao Jun shook his head. ”We still need to observe the follow-up situation. But, since they’ve already successfully become Evolvers, it’s highly likely there won’t be any issues!”

Long Zhan rolled his eyes. ”So, basically, it’s a success!”

Zhao Jun shrugged, as if to say he’d never said such a thing.

”Looks like we’re about to start a new Chapter!” Wang Jun said, his voice filled with excitement.

Ji Yizhi was just as excited, but his brow quickly furrowed. ”It seems like Peach Blossom Base isn’t lacking anything. What can we possibly use to trade for the Evolution Potion?”

His words stunned everyone into silence.

From what they knew, Peach Blossom Base didn’t lack food, and their technology seemed quite advanced. The Aircraft Carrier Base truly had nothing better to offer.

”Hasn’t Peach Blossom Base been collecting plants? We can focus our efforts there!” Long Zhan suggested.

”Can we really trade a few plants for an Evolution Potion?” Ji Yizhi shook his head slightly.

According to their current intelligence, one plant could only be exchanged for a few Cherry Tomatoes. To trade plants for an Evolution Potion, they would likely need a massive quantity.

Wang Jun’s brow furrowed slightly. ”Let’s not stand around making wild guesses,” he said. ”Once this experiment is confirmed a success, I’ll contact Peach Blossom Base and ask them directly.”

Long Zhan nodded in agreement. ”Exactly. We spent all that time speculating about the potion, and it turned out Peach Blossom Base never even planned to hide it from us.”

Ji Yizhi stopped dwelling on the issue and turned his attention to the third group of test subjects.

”What’s the plan for these Evolvers?”

”We’ll observe them first. Once we’re sure there are no further complications, we’ll kill them,” Wang Jun replied in a low voice.

”Yes. The Evolver teams need to be on high alert. We’re talking about one hundred and fifty Evolvers here,” Ji Yizhi reminded him.

The Evolvers from the Aircraft Carrier Base all nodded in agreement.

”I can’t wait for this time tomorrow,” Long Zhan said with anticipation. ”If all three test groups are successful, then we’ll know for sure that it works!”

”We’ve already made it through the last few months. We can wait one more day,” Wang Jun replied with a smile.

Another question occurred to Ji Yizhi. ’Ever since we encountered Peach Blossom Base, it feels like I’ve turned into a question machine.’

”I don’t understand. If Peach Blossom Base is so technologically advanced, why would they give the data to us? Wouldn’t they have gotten results long ago if they’d just done the research themselves?”

Hearing this, both Wang Jun and Long Zhan were taken aback.

”Stop hesitating and just ask!” Long Zhan suggested bluntly. ”It’ll save us from all this pointless speculation! When we contacted him before, he didn’t seem very busy—watching TV shows from Magpie Country, taking afternoon naps... I’m too busy to stand seeing other people be so idle.”

Wang Jun nodded slightly, took out his phone, and sent Ji Yizhi’s question.

Ren Yuanyang seemed slightly taken aback, then replied with a smile, ”It’s simple. We don’t have any professional laboratories here, much less professional translators to decipher that data from Lvzhi Country.”

Beyond that, Peach Blossom Base also lacked professional scientific researchers. Hua Lingfang could only be considered an old traditional doctor with a knack for miraculous healing.

”No professional laboratories?”

Seeing this answer, Wang Jun and the other two were stunned.

”A Licorice Decoction doesn’t really require a professional lab, I suppose!” Wang Jun realized. ”But Peach Blossom Base actually has no professional translators?”

”Does that mean Peach Blossom Base hasn’t taken in many survivors?” Ji Yizhi’s brow furrowed.

If they took in enough survivors, they were bound to find someone with the necessary professional skills!

”That must be it!” Long Zhan nodded slightly. ”Perhaps this is our opportunity. Otherwise, that data wouldn’t have fallen into our laps, and we wouldn’t have this chance to trade with Peach Blossom Base!”

Wang Jun and Ji Yizhi deeply agreed.

Just then, another message arrived from Ren Yuanyang: ”Have the test subjects in the third group completed their evolution?”

Wang Jun immediately replied, ”That’s right. It matches the timeline you provided perfectly. The test subjects who have completed their evolution are all currently stable!”

”Looks like our experiment is going to be a success!” Ren Yuanyang was also getting excited!

”It’s looking that way. We’re going to continue observing the follow-up situation and will inform you immediately if any abnormalities arise!” Wang Jun advised. ”However, you should hold off on trying it yourself. Wait until we have the final results!”

Ren Yuanyang nodded slightly. ”Thanks for the warning. I won’t be that reckless.”

After a slight hesitation, Wang Jun finally asked, ”Once this experiment is a success, would your Peach Blossom Base be willing to sell that Licorice Decoction to us?”

”Of course, but the quantity will be limited. We can’t provide too much!” Ren Yuanyang readily agreed.

”Thank you so much. And, if I may ask, what would you want from us in trade?” Wang Jun continued.

”All kinds of plants and their seeds, or the young of common poultry and livestock will do!” Ren Yuanyang replied without hesitation.

Seeing Ren Yuanyang’s reply, Wang Jun was slightly stunned. ”We can trade plant seeds for the Evolution Potion?”

”Of course. However, this is preferential treatment for you at the Aircraft Carrier Base. We aren’t currently selling the Evolution Potion to other bases or survivors. You should seize this opportunity to maintain your advantage!” Ren Yuanyang replied.

Wang Jun immediately grew excited. ”Thank you!”

Standing to the side, Ji Yizhi and Long Zhan saw Wang Jun’s excitement and grew curious about his conversation with Ren Yuanyang.

Just a moment ago, he had only asked why Peach Blossom Base wasn’t researching the Evolution Potion themselves, and Ren Yuanyang had already answered.

They didn’t know that Wang Jun had also taken the opportunity to ask what they could use to trade for the Evolution Potion in the future.
