Global Flood: I Survive on Duckweed

Chapter 248: Chapter 175: Invitation to Meet, Base Under Attack

The speedboat sped towards its destination. Long Zhan seemed a bit excited. ”We’re finally going to meet Taoyuan Yang!”

”Aren’t you worried it’s a trap?” Wang Jun asked with a smile.

”I’m not worried. I’m really looking forward to meeting Taoyuan Yang!” Long Zhan shook his head.

”Yeah, I’m looking forward to it too!” Wang Jun also wanted to unveil the mysteries of the Peach Blossom Base.

Over two hours later, Ren Yuanyang and his group had left the Seventh-level Wind Sea Region.

Lu Jiamei had been observing her surroundings the whole time. After becoming an Evolver, her eyesight had gotten much better!

Less than ten minutes after leaving the Seventh-level Wind Sea Region, Lu Jiamei spotted the shadow of a boat.

”Chief, there’s a boat on our route. I can’t tell if it’s a speedboat yet!” Lu Jiamei immediately reported to Ren Yuanyang.

”There are other boats near the Seventh-level Wind Sea Region?” Ren Yuanyang was a little surprised, but he immediately ordered, ”Haonan, go around it! Let’s avoid any trouble!”

With the combat power they had on their speedboat, they could take on any other speedboat they encountered. However, any fight would cost them time and could delay their trade.

This trade was extremely important and could not be delayed!

”You got it!” Qin Haonan immediately maneuvered the speedboat to bypass the boat Lu Jiamei had spotted.

What Ren Yuanyang’s group didn’t know was that the other party had also vaguely spotted them. To avoid alerting their target, they didn’t approach Ren Yuanyang either, but simply headed toward the location where they had just appeared.

This speedboat was none other than the team from Xi’an Base. They were out searching for the Peach Blossom Base. Having only spotted a single speedboat, they didn’t give chase blindly—of course, even if they had, they might not have been able to catch up.

They reported to their superiors and arrived at the position where the speedboat had just appeared.

”Just as I thought, it’s nearby!” Bao Mu said, his eyes narrowed. He ordered, ”Conduct a thorough search of the area where that speedboat appeared!”

”Yes, sir!”

At six in the afternoon, as Ren Yuanyang’s group was nearing the trade location, a message suddenly came in from Hua Lingfang.

”Chief, the lab mice have suddenly become extremely agitated!”

He then sent a video.

All the lab mice had gathered in front of Ren Yuanyang’s residence, squeaking nonstop.

Ren Yuanyang’s brow furrowed. ”Something must be wrong. Organize some people and check on the Banyan Forest!”

”Understood!” Hua Lingfang replied.

After the call ended, Lu Jiamei, who was standing to the side, asked worriedly, ”Chief, there won’t be a problem with the Banyan Forest, will there?”

”The Banyan Forest is already massive. There shouldn’t be any problems in the short term.” Ren Yuanyang shook his head slightly.

Although the Banyan Forest wasn’t expanding its area anymore, its interior was extremely dense. Even if someone wanted to destroy it, it would take a huge amount of time.

Ren Yuanyang continued, ”Even if the Banyan Forest is really being destroyed, Elder Hua and the others will have time to get to the yacht. Their safety definitely won’t be an issue!”

Lu Jiamei nodded. ”Mm, I hope it’s nothing serious!”

Back at the Peach Blossom Base, Hua Lingfang immediately gathered everyone.

”Our base may be under attack by underwater creatures. We need to investigate and find out exactly what’s happening!” Hua Lingfang said in a low voice.

Si Youqin froze for a moment, confused. ”If underwater creatures were attacking, wouldn’t the Chief be able to sense it?”

Hua Lingfang glanced at her and replied, ”The Chief is out on business. He’s not at the base right now!”

This was what Ren Yuanyang had specifically instructed him to say if anyone at the base asked about him.

Everyone was stunned to hear that Ren Yuanyang had left the base!

Lin Mu’s brow furrowed. ”Elder Hua, why didn’t you stop the Chief? It’s too dangerous to go out!”

”Of course we tried to stop him, but we couldn’t!” Hua Lingfang replied. ”So now, it’s up to us to protect the Peach Blossom Base!”

Although everyone was a little flustered, they still nodded.

”If underwater creatures are really attacking the Banyan Forest, then we can use the Wood-Type Evolvers to sense it. Although our Mental Energy isn’t as strong as the Chief’s, we should still be able to sense it if we check plant by plant!” Lin Mu immediately started strategizing.

Hua Lingfang nodded slightly. ”Then I’ll have to trouble Minister Lin to organize the Wood Superpower Users and find the part of the Banyan Forest that’s being attacked!”

”Right away!” Lin Mu immediately gathered all the Wood-Type Evolvers and began investigating from the perimeter.

The sea region where the Banyan Forest was located had never been attacked before. This suggested that there were originally no marine creatures near the Banyan Forest. Now that it was under attack, these marine creatures had most likely come from other areas.

Based on this, Lin Mu deduced that investigating from the perimeter would be the fastest way to find the location of the attack.

Although Lin Mu couldn’t yet control these enhanced plants, he could still use them to sense whether they were under attack!

Through the diligent sensing of the Wood-Type Evolvers, they quickly found the location of the attack. It was on the eastern side of the Banyan Forest, and a very large area was being assaulted!

’Those lab mice can actually sense an attack happening in the water!’

Hua Lingfang had no time for amazement. They had found the location of the attack, but how were they going to repel those underwater creatures?

”We’ve all just become Evolvers. Our Mental Energy’s range of control is limited, and the base’s weapons are far less effective in the water. Right now, our only option is to enter the water ourselves and drive back those creatures!” Hua Lingfang said gravely. ”All Wood-Type and Water-Type Evolvers, prepare to enter the water!”

After speaking, Hua Lingfang was the first to change into suitable diving attire. He put on a pair of goggles and prepared to get in the water. He, too, was a Wood-Type Evolver.
