Global Flood: I Survive on Duckweed

Chapter 223: Chapter 168: Wang Jun’s Probing, Another Rampage

”I doubt it. They were able to detect the undercurrents in time, so their technology can’t be weak. The fact that they can produce large quantities of fresh Cherry Tomatoes and peaches probably points to advanced agricultural technology. The same goes for the Evolution Potion they developed. Even though it uses Chinese medicinal herbs, I’m sure technology played a supporting role.” Ji Yizhi shook his head, disagreeing with Wang Jun’s view, though his tone wasn’t entirely certain.

”Aren’t you guys tired of this? How many people does Peach Blossom Base have? How many Evolvers? Can they produce the Evolution Potion? Is any of that really important? As long as we maintain a good relationship and form a powerful alliance, that’s all that matters!” Long Zhan sounded exasperated.

Wang Jun glanced at him. ”The Evolution Potion from Peach Blossom Base is extremely important. If other factions find out about it, they’ll stop at nothing to dig up the base’s location! If we know more about them, we can also lend a hand when the time comes!”

Long Zhan was momentarily taken aback, then nodded. ”That’s true. But if even we can’t find them, it’ll probably be even harder for other factions!”

”Peach Blossom Base should be safe for now. Still, our own base needs to re-emphasize the importance of secrecy regarding the Evolution Potion,” Ji Yizhi suggested. ”Especially when we start distributing it in the future!”

Wang Jun nodded. ”The lab is already under complete lockdown. The first batch to use it will be our Warriors. Their discipline is beyond question!”

Just then, his secretary knocked on the door of Wang Jun’s office.

Wang Jun looked up and asked, ”What is it?”

”Captain, our external planting areas are being attacked by fish again!” the secretary said quickly. ”And many survivors on the regional channel are talking about it!”

Wang Jun nodded. After saying a quick word to Ji Yizhi and Long Zhan, he ended the video call and hurried out.

”What’s the situation now?” Wang Jun asked with a frown as he arrived at the planting area managed by the Jianfu Aircraft Carrier fleet.

”Captain, we’re being attacked by a school of Blinder Fish this time. There are a lot of them, and they’re hard to deal with!” the head of security replied. ”We’ve already salvaged the crops, but we need to get rid of this school of fish as soon as possible. The crops have to be replanted; they can’t just stay piled up!”

Wang Jun nodded slightly. ”Have you tried using fishing nets to catch them all?”

”We’ve tried. The school of fish tore through our nets!” the security head said, sounding helpless.

”Then just use sea mines and Torpedoes,” Wang Jun ordered in a low voice.

”Captain, if we use lethal weapons, I’m worried the smell of blood will attract other, more powerful predatory fish,” the security head said, conflicted.

”If the predators we attract only eat meat, our crops will be much safer!” Wang Jun analyzed. ”Once they’ve had their fill, they probably won’t attack the ships either. Let’s proceed with this plan for now. We don’t have any better options at the moment.”

”Yes, sir!”

Meanwhile, Peach Blossom Base was also under attack by a school of Evolutionary Fish.

Although Ren Yuanyang hadn’t touched any of the enhanced plants, he still received feedback from the system immediately.

Ren Yuanyang’s Mental Energy could now extend out in a one-meter radius. As long as an enhanced plant was within that range, he could sense it.

Ren Yuanyang was a bit surprised when he received the system notification. The last time the Evolutionary Fish had rampaged, it didn’t seem to affect Peach Blossom Base. Only three mutated fish had appeared.

’Are the fish evolving this quickly?’ Ren Yuanyang muttered to himself and immediately headed outside.

As he passed by the shipping containers, he ran into Qin Haonan, who had just finished breakfast. Haonan had been on duty for the second half of the night, so he had caught up on some sleep in the morning and was eating his breakfast a bit late.

Seeing Ren Yuanyang, Qin Haonan immediately stood up. ”Chief, are you heading out?”

”Mhm, the Evolutionary Fish are back,” Ren Yuanyang nodded and replied in a low voice.

Qin Haonan was stunned for a moment. ”I thought the Evolutionary Fish didn’t affect us?”

”This time, the fish are more evolved!” Ren Yuanyang didn’t slow down, walking briskly outside.

Qin Haonan hurried to catch up, asking with a frown, ”Then what do we do? We have too few people. I don’t think we can defend such a large area of the Banyan Forest!”

Without turning his head, Ren Yuanyang kept walking. ”We just need to continue strengthening the dizzy fish grass!”

”Huh?” Qin Haonan stopped in his tracks. ”Can the dizzy fish grass that’s already been enhanced be strengthened again?”

”What do you think?” Ren Yuanyang retorted.

”Chief, your Wood-Type Superpower is too damn awesome!” Qin Haonan said as he jogged to catch up.

Ren Yuanyang continued walking quickly, not responding.

Soon, the two of them arrived next to a nearby dizzy fish grass plant. Ren Yuanyang immediately began to enhance it. This time, he only strengthened the plant’s ability to repel fish, not its effective range.

Its current range was already sufficient; only its fish-repelling ability needed to be strengthened.

The system quickly completed the enhancement of the dizzy fish grass plant before him.

The Evolutionary Fish that had been under this dizzy fish grass plant immediately left its area of effect and went to gnaw on the banyan roots in other locations.

Ren Yuanyang didn’t stop. He strengthened every single dizzy fish grass plant in the Banyan Forest, and all the fish that had come to gnaw on the roots moved far away from the forest’s perimeter.

Qin Haonan, who had been following Ren Yuanyang the whole time, said in amazement, ”Chief, your physique has been enhanced so much! I could barely keep up!”

”It just means you need to work out more,” Ren Yuanyang replied with a smile.

”I’m not tired, I just can’t keep up with your speed!” Qin Haonan threw up his hands. ”And I have a feeling that’s not something you can improve just by working out!”
